HA/AA Ladies Side Saddle Champ All Disciplines at Region 7 Arabian Horse Show

- Опубліковано 4 лют 2025
- This is Class 898 for half Arabian & Anglo Arabian horses for the Ladies Side Saddle Championship (all disciplines). So it's for both English and western side saddles.
This allows us to take a step back in time when proper ladies would only ride a horse side saddle. Not only do the ladies ride side saddle, but they are also dressed in costumes that were in style for a bygone era.

Loved it! Riding side saddle is very difficult! I tried it once a very long time ago! 😁
@@lindawarrell4281 very cool! And I can only imagine how hard it is to ride that way!
what amazing these horses
@@abdullahalhalabi1 thank you, and yes, the horses and the riders are all pretty amazing!
Side saddle has always fascinated me! That along with carting.
I love how much feminine grace is showcased- timeless. We all know being in the barn can be less than traditionally feminine, especially on the day to day duties, so this is so refreshing!
@@Loveinthemist11 that is very well said!
This looks so difficult! I've never seen western style side saddle before! Those horses are all absolutely amazing, those arched necks and high stepping! 🤩
@@T-rex-o2s yeah, I sure thought the same thing about it looking difficult!
I never knew there was such a thing as Western side-saddle. Long ago when I was a child I saw my first side saddle rider in a parade. I thought it looked cool as she was very fancily dressed but it was nothing I would ever do.
@@RobynHoodeofSherwood I didn't know they had western side settled, either, before I saw a couple of years ago at the Scottsdale show. It looks really hard to ride that way but I've never seen any of the ladies fall off in any of these classes.
You know me, I have to go with the sorrel, "chestnut" for first!❤❤❤
@@XxShellyW13xX oh right!❤️
Whaat?! There are Western side saddles 🤠 I didn't know that! I do not know how these women riders stay on but women rode like this for hundreds of years 🐎
@@sarahmarks7082 I didn't know there were western style side saddles either until I saw them at this show a couple of years ago. And yeah, it looks like a difficult way to ride. I am amazed that I've never seen anyone fall off when riding side saddle.
It's been awhile since I took Side Saddle lessons, but we trained to post at the trot. Why would they change to this? Posting Side Saddle is so much more smooth and elegant. And the cues would be a lot more clear for the horse as well. Times change I guess.
I also find it painful to watch riders who were not taught to post. Us old timers posted and also covered our boots with our apron hem parallel to the ground. So much skill lost. England and Ireland still have good instructors.
@@rodotto11 that's interesting. I've videoed a few of the side saddle classes and have only seen one rider posting at the trot.
@@micheledagenais770 thanks for the good info!
Times are changing
🥰 💖👍

They really pound on there backs and yank. On the mouths don’t they.
Poor riding is evident in any discipline. Huge lack of traditional sidesaddle instructors evidently.
@@micheledagenais770 that looks like an incredibly difficult way to ride. Do you think you could do better?
