I didn't notice him being larger but wouldn't doubt that he is. I think these horses can be half Arabian, so if they are bred to Saddlebreds in particular they would tend to be larger. Both of the reddish horses in the video are chestnut because they don't have a dark mane and tail.
I picked the champion 😉 fairly easy pick but wow missed the reserve, was easily between Enrique and the first gray 😁🥰🥰❤️ Arabs r my absolute fav breed and at true liberty there is nothing than can match them in beauty, ease, and efficiency of movement ❤️🥰 😁 and they're so intelligently quirky 🤣

I don’t know why but I can’t get over the pin head look of these horses. It just wrecks it for me that they’ve bred their heads down to such an awkwardly small size 🫤
@@geraldineclarke5434 good question! They have five categories… One is the horse's movement, one is use of the ring, one is crowd participation for the horse, and I'm sorry I can't remember the other two categories.
What are they judged on? I’ve never understood these liberty classes in Arabian shows. So bizarre how the handlers keep yanking on their faces too, do they actually want them to hold their heads so high? It’s like backwards world compared to most (not Arabian)halter classes
They are judged on four categories: How closely the horse looks like the Arabian type, how much of the arena they use when they run, their motion when running, and crowd participation. The yanking on the halter seems to be universal for showing Arabians. I am not a big fan of that either.
Please educate yourself on the Arabian breed before you criticize the class in an Arabian Show. It’s different from what you’re familiar with, but it’s not bizarre. It’s a class capitalizing on the beauty and movements of the Arabian breed.
@@lindaerickson5750 isn’t it education to ASK people who are interested in Arabian shows? It IS at the very least bizarre ( I’m substituting that for more critical words that I’m sure you would take offense to) that people think it’s OK to yank on a horse’s sensitive face. Lifelong horse person here- I’m not coming in from the street. I’m struggling to understand why people approach horses in this way- not just Arabians, but a number of other disciplines. We know better, can do better. For the love of the horse.
Let me ask a silly question. Has any horse ever jumped into the judges nest in the middle? The wall is not that tall, and these horses are all worked up.
That's not a silly question at all. I have seen hundreds of these horses in that liberty run over the years and none have ever come close to jumping the wall. Horses typically don't jump things unless they are trained to do so and have a rider on them. I actually do jumping myself, so I kind of know about that. Rarely a horse will jump a gate on its own if it has already been trained, but they would never jump into a place that's full of stuff like that judges area.
If you search UA-cam you'll find a video where there's an arena that's really too crowded with jumps & a rider pulling her horse's head just as he/she goes over each jump. The horse shakes its head, hops a little & ditches the rider, then proceeds to take every jump in the arena on its , clearly having a good time, jumping w/ beautiful form, never even tapping a bar. A good rider once told me that w/ a good jumper, the rider's job is basically to point the horse at the jump & not screw up what the horse knows how to do. This video is hilarious proof of that, tho' in general I think there's more to it than point-&-hang-on!
@@dalenderocha2561 the horse may jump a fence on its own, but I just don't think there's any way that any horse would ever jump in to that crowded judges booth.
That's a good question. The judges have different categories. One is how well the horse fits the Arabian type. Another area is movement. The third is use of the arena (as in they want the horse to use the entire arena), and last is crowd participation.
I had no idea this was a thing. In my area, the Arab shows are basic pleasure riding, halter, and occasionally country seat (if I remember correctly that's what it's called). Anyone could compete, but it was an Arab club with Arab judges in contrast to an otherwise mostly Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, and Saddlebred area. When I started working with a light gray Arab rescue, I finally got some decent placements, lol. Yet, he did better in dressage. If I could've trained for endurance, that would've been great. But for what we had available, dressage with some trail rides worked out. He always had energy and was always sound, which made many jealous. Great first horse.
@@MagnificentHorses Quite the opposite. It's full of Arabians. They're popular all over the country. The difference lies in the upper class culture. My local wealthier riding clubs happen to be mostly hunter-jumpers that almost exclusively have TBs. A few people are serious enough to make showing at places 2-6 hours away work or go as a spectator. But most people are happy with what's available nearby and it happens to be schooling shows.
@ my absolute favorite breed I took care of 7 of them when I was 11/12 2 studs a stud colt (was going to be gelded) and 4 mares , one of the studs was my fave he only liked me and his owner everyone else he just ignored

I wish I could be there but it's just too expensive to travel that far. I don't make nearly enough money on UA-cam to pay for something like that, unfortunately. Thanks for asking though!
So hard to choose, they just kept getting better and better.
@@laurajackson6860 that's for sure!
cool, but can someone explain why she janked all the time on the halter?
It's to keep the horse's head up.
People do/did it to make the Arabians look more “spirited”. It’s largely looked down on now because it’s unnecessary and painful/annoying to the horse.
Awww 🥰😁 I hope Dylan's owner and friend can continue showing him together - he is gorgeous 🤩 with that speed and extensions 🐴! I chose him for Champion and Enrique C ❣ for reserves - I think Enrique won this event last year. The slow-mo and stop motion are awesome👍 you can really see the movement of these wonderful Arabians
Thanks Sarah! I always look forward to your comments. And good eye! Those two were so close in the way they performed, and the other two were right behind them!

I agree! There was not very much separation between them as far as how great they looked out there.

Perfection with hooves.

Just beautiful ♥️
@@horsenround2 thank you and I'm glad you liked watching it.❤️
The sorrel seems larger? Or chestnut? #3. Love how he checked out the audience and camera
I didn't notice him being larger but wouldn't doubt that he is. I think these horses can be half Arabian, so if they are bred to Saddlebreds in particular they would tend to be larger. Both of the reddish horses in the video are chestnut because they don't have a dark mane and tail.
@@MagnificentHorses thank you!

Thanks so much for your comment and glad you love Arabian horses!
They were all magnificent. I have to admit I always liked the naughty one.

They know they are on display and I think they show off a little, most beautiful horse in the world I really can't say which I like most but I like 3 I think it's his speed.

I wasn't sure about the second winner tho
I had to watch the 2 first ones again and my pick would have been #2

Great video

I don’t know why but I can’t get over the pin head look of these horses. It just wrecks it for me that they’ve bred their heads down to such an awkwardly small size 🫤

How do they score this competition?
@@geraldineclarke5434 good question! They have five categories… One is the horse's movement, one is use of the ring, one is crowd participation for the horse, and I'm sorry I can't remember the other two categories.

Ha ha, that's awesome!
@@lindaerickson5750the question seems valid so please give an answer instead of criticizing someone for asking
@@lindaerickson5750”Bizarre” is the face snatch snatch snatch. You don’t trust the horse’s own natural beauty ?

I think for me personally Faaza won in terms of anatomy and Enrique won because of that camera boop. Two very precious horses right there.
@@Managable_Mayhem thanks for your comment! And yeah, that camera boop was hilarious!😂
Yes, although rare, it’s happened.
Yes it is more. A good jump rider should learn not to disturb the horse's movement. Sadly there are seldom such riders.
@@dalenderocha2561 the horse may jump a fence on its own, but I just don't think there's any way that any horse would ever jump in to that crowded judges booth.
Really not sure how this is a judged class. How do you score them racing around?
That's a good question. The judges have different categories. One is how well the horse fits the Arabian type. Another area is movement. The third is use of the arena (as in they want the horse to use the entire arena), and last is crowd participation.
Beetween all of them i liked more the first grey horse, and second and third would the chestnuts. The white socks always pick me❤
I had no idea this was a thing.
@@peregrination3643 that's so cool about your Arabian horse! And what a great first horse to own! What part of the country or world are you from?
@@MagnificentHorses NW Arkansas.
@@peregrination3643 yeah I can see how that's not exactly a hot bed for Arabian Horses.😆
