I noticed something! I went back to watch the original Hungry Lamu playthrough, and in the newspaper seen in ending #1 "Road Kill", we can see the full names of the protagonist's friends who were killed by Lamu- one of them being "Leon Dean". In the video on the sign in front of the farm, you can see that it says "Dean's Pig Farm". None of the family have the first name "Dean", so it's probably safe to assume that Dean is their last name. So, if that's the case, then the deceased older brother in this game is most likely Leon from the first one.

Yeah... I think the delivery guy was the same one from the aquarium, he has that "they'll get what they deserve" phrase going on like in the other game... Also he mentions doctor Bronze, Lamu's father, I guess the post credits scene is him somehow finding lamu in the park or something, as he mentions making a big breakthrough after not needing more test subjects (or something along those lines) in a scrapped piece of paper.
He also mentions how "the asset contributed greatly" and how it made his experiments easier. Also, I just found out that the guy at the snack bar in the aquarium looks exactly the same as the worker in this game just with blue clothes. Something I noticed when I started the game was that the newspaper in the beginning had a picture that I vaguely recognized as the sign for Lamu Forest Park. I just assumed that it was an easter egg/reuse of assets but then the post credits scene happened. I assumed that it implied that Aaron's brother was killed by Lamu but your theory makes more sense.
Also- given how the last name of the family is Dean + one of the victims in Hungry Lamu was named Leon Dean in the ending 1 newspaper, I think the brother was a victim of Lamu? (Granted the corpse there was white but that could just be due to it being way before this game/things changing since then… either that or the mc of HL *Really Meant It* when they said Leon was “unrecognizable” after being burned (damn, what the heck did they make that fire with, it stole the poor guy’s melanin, it didn’t just kill him it crackerified him!!/j)

Sea Mongrel is my favorite of the three because I feel like the atmosphere is the strongest. OG Lamu is fine, but I felt like the perspective shift was easy to read on where it was going, and the part at the end where Lamu chases the player in 1st person was done better in the Bonnie's Bakery series imo. About 6 mins in... I think that delivery IS the one making mutant animals. It's the same guy from the aquarium game-- Seamongrel. It has been 1 year for Manly, but it's a little bit fresher on my mind.
harsh criticism, i think these new ways of handling it are much better. they are doing something unique with the gameplay instead of just doing the same 3D horror walking sim / avoid & hide from the killer schlock everyone else is pumping out 😅
Yeah the generic horror style is really just walk around and do xyz then leave or die. sea mongrel and this one have gameplay outside of the same old things. Not to mention it’s a really good way to flesh out the threat of these things while not just making them unkillable death machines. Both times characters have fought them they won. It was (canonically at least) a struggle but they won. I would like to see more of it! I’m sick of every horror beast just being some insane powerhouse. These are just animals with human heads it makes sense that people could beat them up.
Ah yes, we put punch out in a horror game, so unique. Coming up, we'll put space invader and Pac-man in our next horror game. That'll be revolutionary.
To be fair, it's hard for EVERYONE to be all imaginative like that, and horror is a big genre. "Spooky walking sim" and "hide from the bad guy" are just two of the most straightforward ways to approach making a scary game. That being said, respect to some of the more creative and imaginative approaches. Like, Observation Duty with the spot-the-difference format, which also sort of inspired the looping spot-the-difference genre that began with The Exit 8. Hell, FnaF might be a whole-ass mainstream franchise now, but back in the day, it was very unique.
So out of morbid curiosity I was looking up how much money that trucker wasted on the joy ride. Semi trucks, on average, are 6.5 gallons per mile. Lets say you can do 60 miles on one hour. Gas prices being like 4$ if your lucky. At the low end, that's $266 for a "joy ride". Yeah, I'd be mad too.
Almost- it's miles per gallon, not gallons per mile. That means a little over 9 gallons was used, or about 37 dollar's worth. Gallons per mile starts to be the unit only when you get to exceptionally heavy and slow vehicles like construction equipment and armored vehicles.
* *SPOILERS for two of this dev's previous games* * Man, how many coworkers does Dr. Bronze have? How deep does this animal-experimentation conspiracy go?
It might just be the same coworker from the previous game at the aquarium. They both contain notes from a guy who feels like he deserves better, and making other people pay whenever he feels slighted.
@@azzafromtazza7744 Possible, but I'm not willing to fully dedicate myself to the that theory, since the two don't look exactly the same and we also don't know when everything takes place and where everything is located in this universe. It's possible that, since Dr. Bronze was labeled a quack doctor, that the rest of his colleagues were too, and so they're all bitter for getting their project shut down. Also, given the post-ending scene of the truck pulling up to Lamu Forest Park, when exactly did that take place? Before or after Dr. Bronze's death?
@@everlastingdragon4520 I'm pretty sure it was after Dr. Bronze's death because there's another car already there, which is possibly the protagonist's car from Hungry Lamu.
@@troin3925 Noted. Then why did they go to Lamu Forest Park in the first place? Even though the experimenter(s) is/are definitely supremely arrogant, I don't think he is/they are suicidal.
3:39 Massive horror-game house syndrome, combined with Americans usually having their washers and dryers in a different room, already breaking Manly's immersion, I see. The real horror is British room layouts!!! (Although that particular setup is a bit weird to me too. I guess the water outflow all being on one wall was the thinking there?) 20:22 Sequence-bacon as usual, I see! 28:24 MOM STOP RAISING DEATH FLAGS I JUST HAD TO TELL DAD THE SAME THING Ending commentary: Now that's decent background knowledge to have. Maybe the UA-cam aporkalypse was _why_ they switched to a more campy style? Would fit the timeline. I missed the Mortuary Assistant controversy. I just know I thought it was a good game.
The original game aside, one thing I've grown to love about this universe is that, regardless of how, the characters are able to fight back against the horrors rather than the usual case of running and hoping not to be caught. It always requires skill and technique to survive but just as likely is the creatures are to win, so to can you. I think it adds to the horror in a story way, through having to fight to survive, even if it takes from direct horror that you'd get from being completely defenseless.
Now I get why the game's title is "Porkbound" You fight pigs, that's one, but there's also the fact the protag feels trapped having to live on the farm. The family has a problem because one of the sons wanted to leave to pursue a career but died in some accident.
@@cherriemaesicad8830 Was my first thought, ngl. But having a reference to that in a punch out game felt so bizarre. Then again, Earthbound is bizarre too...
I want to see Manly unironically playing a house design game. He seems to have great style, the closer he's been to that was unpacking and arranging everything in the game about the guy that was so depressed that never left the house and found weird videos.
I love this man for one main reason. Despite all the horror games and all of those dark things he still shows a silly guy side every now and then showing that he isn’t just a dude with a deeper voice and a man who plays horror games. This is why I watch you so much! :3
You know, this game was written in a way that was so appealing to me that I would've been totally alright if the pigmonsters were just metaphorical representations of grief and trauma, *but* it was a pleasant surprise to see that they actually were just pig boys and girls. I like that it can work both ways at once, too - the pigs, while being real physical threats, can also thematically represent a breaking point for the family living in the same house/farm as their memories of the dead son, coming just after Aaron's argument with his parents and his dad's grief. I also like how the dad was handled as well, not just "evil dad syndrome" but an old-fashioned man who struggles to cope with the loss of his son and desperately clings to whatever safe path he can see for his other one. That sort of ties into the whole family seeing the pig monsters, too - yes, it shows that they're real, but it also shows how all of them are dealing with the exact same issue and it's just as horrifying and confusing for all of them, just like how the dad is struggling to cope just as much as Aaron is.
Ever since I stumbled across this channel, I've felt like I'm tumbling further and further down this weird/demented rabbit hole. I've enjoyed every second of it too.
It makes me wonder, is the delivery guy the only one going around mutating folks? Or is he part of a group/cult of scientists who are going around different areas for their so called "research"?
All we really know is him and Dr. Bronze, the latter of course was killed by his son that he experimented on. So far, it seems like it's just one guy now, one insane, petty guy who would turn anyone into a mutant, animal hybrid if they piss him off for literally any reason.
I love the style of the Hungry Lamu dev, with the combination of 3D spaces and enemy models and 2D sprites in the environment. I personally preferred their acquarium game because I love RPG mechanics, but this none is really good too
Ngl I feel like this itself could be it’s own actual story game, a urban explorer goes to a lab or something and fights his way through, Hajime Ippo style

@@fesserlippenchipful you say this mockingly like you're not correct or something.
@@fesserlippenchipful I still play those 100x times over Slenderman walking simulator
I really enjoy your outros. They make me feel like we are having a bookclub style meeting and I really like that vibe. Thank you for your videos!
This game being called Porkbound but being a Punch-Out style game is really funny 😭😭
It's ironic how the bullies keeping calling Aaron "The Pig Boy", but because of their wrath and seek for a false revenge, they turn into Pig Boys :P
* *SPOILERS for two of this dev's previous games* *
Man, how many coworkers does Dr.
@@azzafromtazza7744 The guy at the snack bar also looks like the coworker but in blue clothes.
I guess the water outflow all being on one wall was the thinking there?)
20:22 Sequence-bacon as usual, I see!
28:24 MOM STOP RAISING DEATH FLAGS I JUST HAD TO TELL DAD THE SAME THING
Ending commentary: Now that's decent background knowledge to have. Maybe the UA-cam aporkalypse was _why_ they switched to a more campy style? Would fit the timeline. I missed the Mortuary Assistant controversy. I just know I thought it was a good game.
I like how in both this game and Seamongrel (which I suspect he was in too), the mad scientist guy is going insane due to having to be a wagie.
hey manly it's 3:30am here, I love your videos, greetings from Italy!
Nottambuli gang
Man the Hungry Lamu lore has expanded so much since the first game.
It always hits different to see people with my skintone in games, I actually loved this.
seems like an average school fight
This has to be by the same person who created that one game where a couple fights the aquarium workers combined with sea animals in an aquarium
Yep, it is
Yes! That’s what I thought to! I’d have to go back and see if it’s the exact same, but I think it is.
Now I get why the game's title is "Porkbound"
You fight pigs, that's one, but there's also the fact the protag feels trapped having to live on the farm. The family has a problem because one of the sons wanted to leave to pursue a career but died in some accident.
Also im pretty sure its a reference to "Earthbound" a really popular 2d nintendo game
@@cherriemaesicad8830 Was my first thought, ngl. But having a reference to that in a punch out game felt so bizarre. Then again, Earthbound is bizarre too...
God I can never remember where he got that, “It’s you, you look good.” Quote from.
I thought it was just like a modded version of "It's you" from Undertale when you look in the mirror but I don't know.
PUNCH OUT MENTIONED RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
0:16 the Pigs have a warrant
When you turn "Hey Rocky, I'm porkin' it!" into a game.
33:36 the ManlyBadassHero scream of all time
I want to see Manly unironically playing a house design game. He seems to have great style, the closer he's been to that was unpacking and arranging everything in the game about the guy that was so depressed that never left the house and found weird videos.
3:40
I love that manly often reviews a room in a game, I feel like in another life he's an interior designer
Yo am i the only one who thought for the ending it was gonna reveal that aaron's brother was one of the victims of the original lamu's park game.
I love this man for one main reason. Despite all the horror games and all of those dark things he still shows a silly guy side every now and then showing that he isn’t just a dude with a deeper voice and a man who plays horror games. This is why I watch you so much! :3
16:57 WHAT IS THAT SOUND LMAOOO
ÜH ûH 😨
Why is nobody else commenting on that 😭😭
That's the first time I heard Manly scream like that 😭
The text sound on this one was really crunchy and satisfying 🍂
The designs are giving Lisa and it’s really nice
33:36 It's refreshing to see Manly showing a modicum of emotions once in a while.
This guy should be a voice actor bro he has an awesome voice
manly seriously judging interior designs and furniture placements is one of my all time favorite details of the playthroughs
Ever since I stumbled across this channel, I've felt like I'm tumbling further and further down this weird/demented rabbit hole. I've enjoyed every second of it too.
13:34 When Dr Eggman once said: "SnooPINGAS usual, I see?"

8:08 When you encounter a group of wild Psychopomp fans.
anyone else notice that all these pigs are named and modeled after real pig breeds?
Presumably the samples that the scientist fed the kids were from those breeds.
Calling it now.
This the origin story of Punch-Out's Mr. Sandman.
Art of the silent step is the same technique I used to sneak snacks at night as a kid
Many horror video game where the protagonist cant attack and here Aaron boxing mutated pig monsters
So glad to see you play this!
Can’t wait to see more from the dev, absolutely!
He must have dropped your guard because I’ve literally never heard manly scream before 33:36
feel like I need a pallet cleanser like this after I finished watching Mouthwashing, left me a bit shaken up
Punch out themed hprror game is the phrase i thought id never hear in my life
This would be fun as a VR game. Or like those in Wii or Nintendo where you actually move.
Yea it would be epic!!!
MANLYBALLS
Yes
So this is if Punch-out, Earthbound and Paper Mario had a baby and that baby was born a psychopath
I love the style of the Hungry Lamu dev, with the combination of 3D spaces and enemy models and 2D sprites in the environment. I personally preferred their acquarium game because I love RPG mechanics, but this none is really good too
Imagine a Punch-Out clone where all the opponents are horror game monsters.
Their last names are “Dean”- wait, wasn’t that the last name of one of the victims in Hungry Lamu? Leon Dean?
*damn… it all connects…*
33:35 this is the first time I ever heard Manly scream like that
Check out his bear scream from the original Witch's House lmaooo
You could dodge, that's how you get no damage, blocking halfs it
Ngl I feel like this itself could be it’s own actual story game, a urban explorer goes to a lab or something and fights his way through, Hajime Ippo style
being this early to a Manly video is a new thing for me
Thank you mr manly, unrelated to this game but i enjoyed the last game so much, it was really good, thank you for playing it
