Totally agree..we haven't been totally outplayed but just lacking up top with finishing....we need a balance between buying/selling and actually competing week after week
Thanks to Neil for saving us last season which can not be underestimated and we all wish him well. I don't agree at all with Neil being correct about the strikers. It was obvious to me in the first game against Watford with 1 upfront with Honeyman in "support" 20 yards away that we would get nowhere. We went 0/2 down, brought on strikers and got to 2/2, and were unlucky. The negativity shown against Sunderland made me crestfallen and again behind. Brings on the cavalry and we dominated. Lessons still not learned. Oxford we are ahead and we play Bradshaw up front on his own 2nd half then Coventry when again behind and Emakhu comes on and we look much more likely and then at Boro back comes Honeyman in support again.😠😥
Boro fan here! Azaz, Conway & Burgzorg got put through and put efforts wide. So wouldn’t say the goal was our only chance tbh. The longer the game went on, It did look like Millwall might get a point. All the best for the rest of the season.
Hey Ripper, thanks for listening! I think your comments were fair but they were never clear cut and if you look at big chances/xg it reflects that, felt you had some nearly moments at the end with us going four at top. More consistency and a better cb you’re a top 4 side in my view. All the best
At the moment I’m more worried about the home game against Blackburn this coming Saturday than I am about who’s to blame for Harris leaving. I think it’s pretty obvious that JB, the board and Gallen aren’t going to have enough time to interview managers, offer one of them the position of head coach and get them to take a training session before the game on Saturday. So it looks very much like Barrett will be the caretaker manager against Blackburn and that fills me with dread and my blood runs cold at the thought of him at the helm. Even without Szomodics Blackburn have been scoring loads of goals this season and I cannot see us getting a draw, let alone a win against them. I hope I’m wrong but a lot will depend on how the players react to the last three losses and the fallout of Harris leaving the club.
We've dominated teams like usual but more so this season, stats have us top with Leeds but Millwall had a game plan that was very effective, kept us at bay, we are better away from home for whatever reason but still yesterday you wouldn't know who was the home team, credit to Millwall for that, a point would have a fair result but that's football, we've battered teams and got nothing, swings and roundabouts as they say, Good Luck for the season Millwall, I reckon you'll be around the playoffs with us hopefully UTB
Thank u very much for everything u have done for Millwall u will always be a Living Legend always will be thank u for saving us from relagation Super Neil Harris 🦁💙
I completely agree with your analysis as to why Harris is leaving i.e. needing players for the here and now against those who will be future assets but I also feel that he has missed a trick. There have been games this season against some of the lesser lights when he could have been less cautious and trialled a 442 formation , particularly at home. Sometimes attack is the best form of defence. The likes of Bradshaw and Langstaff may have been more prolific with a partner up top alongside them. This is speculation obviously but a few extra goals may have bred some confidence which might have helped them tuck away chances such as those created yesterday. Losing Josh Coburn to injury was a massive slice of misfortune and I believe has been a hindrance to our progression. Harris has a stubborn streak. I think it’s important to him to be proven to be right, even if it’s to the detriment of the team. The lack of game time for Emakhu seems to be ‘personal’. It’s clear that he provides a bright infusion of pace and energy when he’s given minutes and whatever Harris’s issue was he should have put it aside for the benefit of the team’s performance. I’m also not certain that Harris knew his best eleven in terms of formation. I have wondered whether he might consider pushing DeNorre forward into the No. 10 position as he seems to be more comfortable on the ball than most of our players. There may have been a lack of thinking ‘outside’ of the box, perhaps a change of personnel in certain positions may have given the side a new lease of life. All of this is ironic, as the club has been punching above its weight and with a few tweaks it’s possible that Harris might have been able to stay on. He hasn’t though and the fact that he is prepared to walk away tells us that he is not 100% on board with the ideas being discussed and as such its better that he does go. Yours is by far and away the most balanced analysis on Millwall. Keep up the great work. COYL.
Again excellent analysis, especially about bombers well founded statement about the quality of our forwards. We are one one of the worst in the championship of the shortfall between XG and actual goals scored
Keeping us up in the Manor in which Harris did ,probably ment our expectations for this season were far too high ,then add to that 9 unbeaten ect ect , that ramped it up even more. Its a real shame the way it has ended , but who knows whats around the corner lets be honest were a club with a league one budget who have been overachieving for the last ten years ...both Luton and Coventry have shown us with the right funds , players and manager anything is possible ..... Thanks for everything, Gaffa ....Coyl
What have Coventry shown us? How to spend over 10 million a striker and still not get promoted? How to get nearly 30k fans every week and still not get promoted?
Meanwhile, over at Norwich, the commentator says "Feast your eyes on that! !! What A Beautiful Goal!!" as this geezer hits a Worldie from 30 yards. Just the type of player we need as a "10".......I have made a note Zian someone or other though who needs him when we have got Neil's mate Georgie Honeuman as a "10?"...
How have you worked out he is Neil’s mate? (He isn’t by the way). Also, Harris didn’t make the signings, that’d be Gallen. So us not having a proper, adequate, proven no.10 isn’t down to Harris, even if you try to spin it as so OR even if you believe we have players more fitting for the role.
Boro perspective here. Not our best performance, definitely capable of better and looked sloppy at times in possession (see the pass back to Brynn in the 1st half etc) but I’ll take the win as you can’t expect to be brilliant in every game. Love Howson, but I think we miss Morris (hopefully back from injury soon) in that midfield alongside Hackney as it gives us a balance which I don’t think we have without them. On Millwall, I think you’ll be ok so long as you don’t completely collapse from here. Decent enough mid-table side with plenty of worse teams below.
My fear is a rowett return for the rest of season..until we can sign a more permanent coach ..knows the club, will keep us up, available but will bore the pants of us all
JB jnr and this Board worries the life out of me tbh, I think they’ll sell Esse in January, And Tango and Emakhu in the summer for decent money, but how they spend it is a concern 🙁
What formation did Langstaff play in when scoring all his goals? I'd be very surprised if it was one man up front. If this is the case why play that system and i blame Harris. Again an average lower championship manager. Harris will likely coach in 1st or 2nd divisions.
You blame Harris? That’s because you’re obviously a “thicko”. He didn’t want Langstaff, didn’t sign Langstaff. Why? Because he didn’t suit how Harris wanted to play. So yea, blame Harris you genius and not the man (gallen) who forced langstaff on him. Fool
Luke Williams and his replacement mostly used a 4231 (with occasional 3atb mixed in). At times Langstaff would even play out on the wing. Bottom line is he ain’t up to this level, he’s missed a ton of sitters this year
jacket consistently played Morison regardless of scoring return.something harris has not done with langstaff. 100% langstaff is more of a natural finisher than morison he just needs a consistent run of games. should never interrupt good form
@@MFC96-w6u lol … I’m sorry, how on this planet have you managed to work out Langstaff is more of a natural finisher than Morison? You are talking absolute GARBAGE. I would use a stronger word but UA-cam wouldn’t allow it. But you don’t have a full deck if that’s what you actually believe. You are so wrong its laughable.
@@MFC96-w6uboth fair points. I’d persist with langstaff, I’ve said before in a two, next season he will score goals at this level, just feels he needs 3 or 4 to score 1 atm.
when we bought langstaff we were told he is a natural goal scorer, no he is not & never will be instinctive strikers don't not score in a 1 on 1 situation against a keeper. he kept putting square pegs in round holes @ the back so he could play his favourites rather than putting players in their best positions. i am surprised that harris could not improve langstaff but maybe a better coach can here's hoping
@DanielWynn-v7b I certainly see why. He’s rubbish; missed a ton of sitters this year. If he was a young lad I’d kind of understand the signing but as a 27 year old you’d expect him to make an immediate impact and he just hasn’t
We’re not the worst team in the division,we’re mid table,we’ve won by the odd goal, now losing by same margin ,final thirds the issue, get back to being more of a threat up front, incomings in jan, i dont see this all dome and gloom scenario, man up people😳🫣

Against Boro, some positives are De Norre and Esse. De Norre dropping back and winning so many balls, Quality.
Well done again Chris and Peter hamilton your a star. Lets go get Mowbray
He doesn’t want to work yet. He nearly died earlier this year.
