That tackle by Azeez was massive. He's really growing into Millwall.

Life is full of ironies.I turn up excited and raring for us to go against Sunderland, Sheff United, and Coventry and then feel deflated when I see the starting lineup although Sheff United I understood more because could we "nick another 1/0 win like Leeds, and Burnley through grit and determination. So I turned up on Saturday and said to my mates "Usual" and they said Azeez and Langstaff but this time with Emakhu starting and I said that must mean Esse at 10 and smiled, and they confirmed it.
3 exciting young attacking talents supporting Langstaff and then Ivanovic comes on and I was really delighted with the late winner..The crowd responded,as well.👍👍

Best Millwall podcaster by a mile. Also spot on regarding the Barrett thing, I’ve said what you just said for years.

Fair play to Livermore for picking a starting 11 (and picking the right formation) which gave many of our fans what they wanted to see: Emakhu and Azeez on the wings and Esse in the 10. A formation that Harris never went with. It was also great for Emakhu to prove to any of his doubters that he could last 90 minutes AND have an impact throughout the whole game - which he did so well. It was also pleasing that in every stat department (bar offsides which were equal 1-1) we bested Blackburn and for the first time this season bettered the oppositions possession, with Blackburn on 41% to our 59%.
In that 59% possession the players played some lovely intricate 1-2’s to each other, often under periods of intense Blackburn pressure, so it was a bit surprising when there were a few periods in the game where the ugly elements of head tennis returned and it just needed one or two of our players to let the ball hit the deck and keep hold of it by playing those 1-2’s to each other, instead of putting the midfield and defence under pressure each time the ball flew backwards and forwards in the air.
Chris, you’re spot on with your analysis and yes, I agree with you that Azeez’s sprint to catch the Blackburn player up and hook the ball away from him, is the tackle of the season (so far) and stopped a certain goal. Had we gone 1 nil behind we might not have recovered and could have lost the game. Just imagine what would have happened had it been Cooper, Hutch or Wallace trying to catch up with that Blackburn player? None of them would have stood a chance and that’s just another reason why we need to recruit younger, fitter, better CB’s who have the pace to do what Azeez did.
This win against a Blackburn side that we made look very ordinary (how they are 5th from that performance I do not know) has to have bolstered the teams confidence going into the away Boxing Day fixture against the inbred six finger brigade. They have influential players out, which might include their goal keeper, Gunn, who could be suspended in that game, and that could force our ex goal keeper Long to be between the sticks for them. Here’s hoping that if he is playing, Long plays as well as he did for us, and doesn’t end up playing a blinder for them.
    COYL!

I have paused @ 5 mins 23' to go out but before I resume listening, these are my thoughts. I am absolutely delighted with that Front 4 that I have waited so long for(Langstaff or Ivanovic). Delighted we went FORWARD from the first whistle and delighted we had belief in OURSELVES, sadly, lacking lately. I'll say now that while Neil, undeniably, saved us but with his fearful, negative tactics and choice of lineup like 1 man "supported by George H. that I was not in the least surprised with 8 goals in 13 games and it was going downhill fast..WE will never know why he persisted with that wretched lineup. We did a great job on Leeds/Burnley. Delighted with The Subs and Thrilled with the energy and the result. It was worth the wait and deserved,if belated, victory.

That goal by Ivanovic was quality. 19 years old,not fully settled in England, first season in the championship and out scoring Bradshaw and Langstaff

Thanks Chris, I always enjoy listening to your post match analysis.
I am so pleased that we won and played pretty well with a much better set up and approach to the game. A lot of credit to David Livermore I think.
If we had lost or perhaps even drawn there would no doubt have been a lot of criticism and negativity forthcoming from some quarters and aimed at Steve Gallen and the board blaming them for not supporting Neil Harris and letting him go etc. etc. and that it was all their fault.
I'm also so pleased that Aidomo started and played well the whole match, I think he had a point to make and he did so very well.
Only one game of course but I think it demonstrates what we can do if we have the right team selection and set up, especially at home.

Just for the tackle Azeez is man of the match. He would have been anywhere near doing that at first. He got himself right into the attackers shoulder and leaned into him to give himself the space to make the tackle. And that was quality, absolute perfection.
The only thing that surprised me was that the officials didn’t give a penalty, even though it wasn’t. That would have been just our luck.

Great tackle from Azeez...love the geezer. Tanganga a Rolls Royce in the championship. Great goal from the big serb...thought he was pony up to that point! Very passive bench though....Livermoore sat down most of the game and subs hardly warmed up in the 2nd half...thats my only grumble as i thought it was a great performance especially 2nd half. 🦁

One necessary change is that we MUST find a dead ball, half-decent player because Savile just does not deliver with free kicks or corners and we know he will just get his one goal per annum through open play:)

Tanganga a premiere league footballer player playing in the championship looks like how in just how he plays a solid reliable defender one of the best in this division a lot of clubs was chasing him for his signature but he decided to return to Millwall and what did he cost nothing a truly absolute bargain what he is he worth now ❓ merry Christmas every body and a healthy new year

You just said it yourself, no one knows what he does. All we do know is the players really like him. So why would you give him stick? It makes absolutely no sense. Just jumping on the bandwagon like a 🐑 … also, you can’t hear what gets said in the dugout, he’s a COACH not a manager, not the assistant manager. So why do you expect him to be marching around the technical area shouting and screaming? How many other coaches do you see doing that?
