@@mz22waBeneteau uses Alpi which is an Italian made engineered hardwood that is extremely stable and durable. The highly esteemed Marriott Hotel in Lima Peru was recently updated using this product. Even though the wood is engineered the cost is in line with solid oak or even teak. It’s far from cheap. The light satin finish gives the interior an open spacious feel and the high density of the engineered Alpi keeps sound from traveling from one room to the other. This boat is absolutely amazing. It’s almost like a “Swiss Army knife” of yachts! Definitely one of the best ones you’ve filmed and one of the more thoughtfully built boats IMO.
This is actually one of the first (new) boats in a year that I would in all honesty buy to have as a small family cruiser. Awesome walkthrough again Nick, thanks!
I don't normally like trawler yachts, but this is really nice. What's interesting is the amount of thought that goes in to the design of these things. It's a really clever package.
@@clivestainlesssteelwomble7665Not so much anymore unfortunately. Quite common for these to hold value or even increase for a few years. Especially if the demand is high!
One of the best designed long haul boats of this size I’ve seen even a long term live aboard. As a skipper both helms are good but hats off for the lower with great visibility. Option for bigger tanks for longer range and even a water maker. Best I start saving or sell one of my motorbikes. Great video Nick.
This is a master class in boat building for people who go out regardless. The touches on this vessel are simple genius. You're getting very good at this Nick, maybe you should consider doing it for a living.😃👍🏴
Count me among those that prefer the galley forward layout. Galley aft might be great for entertaining, but putting the seating area aft maximizes the enjoyment space and links that to the outside. I think the designers of this boat nailed it.
Jack, Jill and Jill's friend is a whole different cruise 😂 Love the lounge at the back, sit inside with views out without being boxed in by a galley & helm
Fascinating boat Nick. I'm a retired truck mechanic of 50 years. I was an apprentice in the late 60s / early 70s and most British trucks were powered by some form of marine engine, Gardner and Perkins come to mind. These old plodders were soon outdated along with British engineering of the day. What followed was the glorious Cummins, Volvo, Scania, Caterpillar, MAN etc. These manufacturers still powering trucks and boats to this day. Having said all of this one of my favourite engines to work on was the Rolls Royce Eagle diesel a partnership with Perkins. At night the turbo glowed red in the dark... wonderful stuff. Keep up the good work.
A great boat and very excellent tour. Love the layout of this one and all the little things they thought of. I could enjoy this one (if someone bought it for me, or I win the lottery.) I especially enjoy the salon/galley set up. If I want to relax and stretch out watching TV/movie I don't need a dining/cocktail table in front of me. Thank you Nick, another great job !
Just superb. I've been waiting for this tour, and it didn't disappoint. The design is excellent, and carries on where the ST50 left off. They only need to put a dumb waiter between the galley and the flybridge and it's ready to go.
Just had a rewatch of the Aquaholic Grand Trawler tour from the same yard and I must say I am amazed how much of the lessons learnt from that is translated into this one. Talk about crazy value for money!
Hi Nick, And thank you for this empresive show off this Beneteau Swift Trawler 54 My kind off boat i love it slowly cruising along the coast the nice salon the galley in the middle great and then the bridge with dining also very nice there below 2 cabins and a master 2 heads big fly bridge great all that solar on the boat the big sorage room in the back with a mobil david system very need Thanks Nick what a show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm in love with it, this is at least my 4th visit to this video. It's as though the designs of a thousand boats and the thoughts of a million enthusiasts were thrown into a magicians hat and this is what popped out. As always, your detailed tour just adds to it Nick. Thankyou
Brilliant tour as usual Nick, thank you. Thorough and enjoyable. I’m around two decades from retirement, but I could certainly see myself spending a few months a year on board one of these pottering around the UK and beyond. Really liked this one, perfect for the intended use.
Been waiting for this video! Have delivered and instructed on various ST42, ST44, ST52 and the most recent ST48 - the ST Range are some of my favourite consumer-level-market passage makers because of the ability to cruise at displacement and go fast, with a really flatish fuel burn. Brilliant boats all round, great predictability to handle in close quarters marina environments, and comfy on multi-day and overnight displacement speed passage-making. 👍
@@sharonbraselton3135 Hi! Yes i think the hull forms have been described as a semi-displacement type, you're absolutely right; what I was referring to as written was travelling at 'displacement speed' and cruising 'at displacement'. These are just terms used to convey that the through-water log speeds being travelled at are not 'planing speeds' or 'on the plane'. The terms 'i'm at displacement' or 'MCD' 'Max Continuous Displacement' are, somewhat colloquial contractions but, are nevertheless, widely understood - in my experience and sector - to denote that 'we are' travelling at a through water log speed slower than that which is required for a particular hull form to be 'on the plane', were it capable. It's also used as a quick way to say 'i'm just slowly cruising st this time' e.g. "hi, yes, we will be there in a few hours, we're just sitting 'at displacement' for a while...". Anyway, in terms of the hull-forms you're right that that's how they are described by the manufacturer! Anyway, i'm just off to correct the grammar in the graffiti in the loos with long explanations written in highlighter pen explaining their mistakes, and why i'm so much fun to talk to at dinner parties...Just kidding...That's only semi-true.
Exellent video. But one more thing should probably be mentioned, something users of these kind of boats really love: the stabilizers. Beneteau fitted the Sleipner fins that are also functional at zero speed and when at anchor. They are all electric so no noise at night when you opt for the solar/battery package that you showed. “ The latest Sleipner Vector Gen 3 fins provide excellent stability with 360-degree control”
What a wonderful 'floating home'. You said there are 2 more 'roof' options for the flybridge, and I can't help thinking a hardtop that dropped back and down for low bridges, and covering most things when not in use would really set a high mark in most peoples check list, as it could still be totally covered with solar panels.Maybe hull 3. :) Cheers Nick, and friends.
Absolutely beautiful ! LOVE the wood color scheme ! Again, another perfect "therapy" boat ! Very uplifting all through out ! Thank you Nick ! Safe travels !
That is a fantastic boat, definitely a lot of thought gone into this, great finishes and a great flow and layout. I think this would be a great first boat to get into sailing. I wish my pension was big enough to buy one. Great tour Nick thank you.
That is a lovely practical boat! Nice use of space. I like the layout and was surprised to discover it had 18 solar panels. The trash storage is quite clever. I like the steps to the upper flybridge helm. They would not get wet and be a slip hazard. Shame the GoPro prevented a clear view of the displays. I like the hidden lazarette and engine bay compartment. Very nice yacht, thanks Nick for the tour 😊
While the term "idyllic" refers to a time or place of pleasing perfection - the name Beneteau Swift Trawler 54 should be added. With a central galley and four dinning areas there is a separate longe that needs no "converting" for dinning. Three generous staterooms each with heads access. The inside route to the fly brige / outdoor cooking and dining areas is very clever. Aft facing rear seating is wonderful. Nothing but "idyllic" stem to stern, Thanks, Nick.
I was liking this boat, interior fly bridge ladder and galley/forward dining, until you opened that lazerette. I absolutely love that, genius. And @ 2,000 miles at @ 5 knots, oh yeah. Talk about a tucked in with a good book, your loved ones and a bottle of wine. Heaven.
Well the ST range have some great long range cruisers but this 54 is super. Well thought out relaxing, eating, chat to skipper, areas. Lovely light coloured cabins. The whole family and daughters boyfriend would love it. 😊👌
While not a red wine freak, reds need to be chilled to between 55-65F, depending on the type of red and personal taste. So, some minimal cooling capacity is required. Room temperature is not really room temperature. Ok, to the boat. I am very impressed. I did not think I would be, but this is a very well thought out boat. I could easily live on this in South Florida. Thanks, Nick! 😊
It's a Tardis inside, love the interior design of this boat. One day maybe, it's nice to dream eh😁. Thank you for this latest instalment Nick, top drawer as always 👏
as always you're a genius and most appreciated ! My first boating experience as a youth was a Burger 72, and then a Grand Banks 50. Needless to say, trawlers have always interested me. Mind you, Sunseeker and others are amazing - but Beneteu has always been true to the Swift brand. I think this new 54 is their best statement ever of that. Everything about it is thoughtful to the level of boats up to twice the price. But the details. You can see in the hatch fittings, wire wraps and many other things that go unseen, how they have matured so much over earlier models. For me, while I love fancy stuff, Swift is grounded and down to earth. I feel comfortable in my shorts and classic T from an 80's concert. Thanks again!!!
I could very much see this as an alternative early retirement option to that cottage in the country. (For those that could afford it) Plenty big enough for a couple to live aboard but not too big to handle. Room for family to come stay for a while. Wake up to a different view each morning if you felt like it.
This is a stunner, very clever, very nice, doesn't feel small, but it lacks that little extra zing that would make it amazing. But if one ever comes my way I wouldn't refuse it.
Great one, very much a practical pseudo live aboard boat with tonnes of space and still sleeping for six. The one who invented the trash compartment deserves a raise for sure, very clever. Plus the greener a boat can get the better, no need for gas on board. 👌💎👌
As a 71 year old active grandfather this thoughtfully designed vessel hits the mark on absolutely everything. I think the layout is fabulous. That side door off the galley just rocks. Curious about both draft and air draft so the Bimini option might work better for me. I suppose multiple days at anchor would make the solar option most useful. I wonder how many hours of run time you could get just sitting in the sun all day. I would opt for the gas cooker in order to possibly not run the generator as often. Love the heating and ventilating system. The quick access lazarette is pure genius especially with the clever davit system . The 1.2 million seems very reasonable for a boat with such high spec with tons of real estate and very livable accommodations not to mention the performance. I didn’t see any stabilization which is a pricey option or a water maker. I could tell by Nick’s enthusiasm that he is quite taken with everything this pocket explorer yacht has to offer. Thank you Nick for exhibiting the same passion while touring this gem as a super yacht.
🦘🇦🇺 Thank you Nick. What an amazing trawler. For 54’ it has more books & crannies than I’ve seen in my whole life. Love the way the link the galley to both for & aft. Great job fabulous tour 🛟🙏
What a great video. Haven’t watched anything from the channel for a while but am very glad I was prompted by the algorithm to come back. The best compliment I can pay you is that you’ve become the Harry Metcalf of boating. Great format. Keep it coming!
I love these boats and should I ever win the lottery, I will take this any day. Practical, but with style, proper boat for all scenarios. Great tour Nick 👌
I can see why you have 1/2 million subscribers. Your explanations WHY things are where they are on a boat is oh so important. I reckon you must have sold many boats over the years with your boat commentary, without even realising…..❤
Nick: you knew this would be my tass de te. No stupid rear galley with lift up window/door if your passage making. It's not ment to be a marina queen. Solar silent power too when needed too. The price is so reasonable and allows for updates to a more robust interior woodwork etc. The easy load lazarette is spot on, just like when a hatchback revolutionised cars. I'm getting moist about this one Nick, Cheers DougT
Thanks for showing us this beautiful Beneteau Swift Trawler 54. It has many great features, not the least of which is it's price. I imagine that it will be nearer 1.6 million to have and to hold, but it is liveaboard quality. Great Review as always Nick.
Fascinating boat, very innovative features. About all i could add on a wishlist would be a helm side door to the dock, to help with lines etc. Agree with you that Beneteau Group has upped their quality spec. Seen that also in the Wellcraft 435 etc 👍
Wow, this yacht is realy brilliant with all the Galeon like solutions, but then again, Beneteau has always been enovative 🙂If you are not in a hurry, then this yacht offers great solutions, awesome😄Great tour Nick 🤗
Yep , That'll do me. Love the idea of a month away in home from home efficient confort. Real World Motor Boating. Thanks for the presentation Nick - interesting variety is key.
It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but Mr Burnham sir what an intriguing 54, like you say a great lot of thought put into this one, places for sun pads, bimini, aft canvases and even the bins and so on, I love the layout all around I'd take this package as is, I could see myself living full time on this on. Nick you beat me on the Jack and Jill question with three doors, I could only come up with Rita, Bob and Sue (80's film reference) for us old farts 😂 great find and tour as usual sir all the best from Cornwall 🤗👍🖖
Another great walk around… and thanks for this excellent review Nick. This is a practical ‘real world’ boat. It really is superb and would do nicely to ‘live aboard’ for lengthy periods 😀
I enjoyed that right up to the floor squeal outside of the master ensuite. That, to me, sounds just like fingernails on a chalkboard. Not what I anticipated hearing from a Beneteau. Hopefully hull 2 and beyond doesn't squeak. Thanks Nick !

Glad you enjoyed it! 😃
probably the best owner operator boat ive seen yet! take me with you, i can be jack or jill depending on your preference.
I could very much see this as an alternative early retirement option to that cottage in the country. (For those that could afford it) Plenty big enough for a couple to live aboard but not too big to handle. Room for family to come stay for a while. Wake up to a different view each morning if you felt like it.
I have made the top 10 soo happy the best boat reviews ever thanks Nick
What a fantastic boat. That engine room is amazing for a boat of that size.
I really like that
This is a stunner, very clever, very nice, doesn't feel small, but it lacks that little extra zing that would make it amazing.
Definitely needs a water maker if you have women onboard, in my experience 😂
You're very welcome!
Beneteau shows a fin system for stabilization on their ST54 homepage that works at rest or is underway!
Mind you that the 1.2 million is the base price (ex VAT) as per the Beneteau website. So all the specs shown here comes as extra.
Been watching and dreaming these videos various channels. This is by far the best boat I've seen.
🦘🇦🇺 Thank you Nick. What an amazing trawler. For 54’ it has more books & crannies than I’ve seen in my whole life. Love the way the link the galley to both for & aft. Great job fabulous tour 🛟🙏
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
Beautifully designed with practicality in mind
Ooh I like that, what a great boat! The easy load lazarette is a great idea. I really like the internal layout too
Works well doesn't it?
For 54' this has a lot to offer. Love the solar. Nice one :)
What a great video. Haven’t watched anything from the channel for a while but am very glad I was prompted by the algorithm to come back.
The best compliment I can pay you is that you’ve become the Harry Metcalf of boating.
Great format. Keep it coming!
Welcome back!
That is a very compelling little ship. Thanks Nick🎉
You bet!
That's a great, practical boost. A great tour as usual, thank you.
You're welcome!
I love these boats and should I ever win the lottery, I will take this any day. Practical, but with style, proper boat for all scenarios.
Great tour Nick 👌
Good luck!
Very nice and a fair turn of speed when you want it! Some of us oldies would sacrifice something to get a day heads on the main deck
Looks like the perfect boat for me.
I can see why you have 1/2 million subscribers. Your explanations WHY things are where they are on a boat is oh so important. I reckon you must have sold many boats over the years with your boat commentary, without even realising…..❤
You're very kind 🙂
Well done Nick, an exceptional, practical and easy to use trawler yacht and my type of vessel . a great review.
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
Nick: you knew this would be my tass de te.
Good to know, I guess..! 😳
@@AQUAHOLIC just like you Nick too over those shiny, huge hinges 😉
Thanks for showing us this beautiful Beneteau Swift Trawler 54. It has many great features, not the least of which is it's price. I imagine that it will be nearer 1.6 million to have and to hold, but it is liveaboard quality. Great Review as always Nick.
Thank you!
This one is perfection
The layout is fantastic, very interesting boat👍
Brilliant tour nick! seems to be good value, if only I had 1.2 million euros... looking forward to seeing what's next!
Lots of exciting stuff coming!
Excellent review Nick, Beneteau have created something special here and it looks like they have dramatically upped their quality of finishes too.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Probably the best design saloon, galley and lower helm I have seen in a small motor boat like this.
This is basically a condensed Grand Trawler. Very nice!
Excellent review. Thanks Nick!
You're very welcome! 🙂
Very attractive. I suspect that will be a big seller. Thanks for the video. It's appreciated.
You're very welcome! 🙂
Like that a lot there's some clever innovation and design on this one and for the size there's a lot of engine room space
Yep , That'll do me. Love the idea of a month away in home from home efficient confort. Real World Motor Boating. Thanks for the presentation Nick - interesting variety is key.
I'm glad you liked it 🙂
It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but Mr Burnham sir what an intriguing 54, like you say a great lot of thought put into this one, places for sun pads, bimini, aft canvases and even the bins and so on, I love the layout all around I'd take this package as is, I could see myself living full time on this on. Nick you beat me on the Jack and Jill question with three doors, I could only come up with Rita, Bob and Sue (80's film reference) for us old farts 😂 great find and tour as usual sir all the best from Cornwall 🤗👍🖖
This would suit me just right! Beautiful
Thanks Nick!
My pleasure!
Amazing trawler! Thank you for the tour!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome Beneteau Aquaholic Wish I have 1.5 million me and my mom and grandma will be there already and my papas soul
Great video mate greetings 🙏 from Athens-Greece..Keep up the good job
You're very kind!
Nice tour, great cruiser! Now i need a bit of luck to win the lottery.
🤞
Another great walk around… and thanks for this excellent review Nick.
This is a practical ‘real world’ boat. It really is superb and would do nicely to ‘live
aboard’ for lengthy periods 😀
I enjoyed that right up to the floor squeal outside of the master ensuite. That, to me, sounds just like fingernails on a chalkboard. Not what I anticipated hearing from a Beneteau. Hopefully hull 2 and beyond doesn't squeak. Thanks Nick !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another excellent tour. My new favorite boat. This one falls within my budget if I live another 247 years. Woo-hoo!
As long as the price doesn't go up in the meantime... 😣
Very interesting boat indeed and again a wonderful tour thereof, Nick!. Grill needs a clean and the wiring looks rather untidy.
This is probably one of my favorite boats I've seen this year.
Hi we have a delivery slot available for Spring 2025. Does it make sense to DM me if it of interest.?
Dang Nick that one gets it done perfectly thank you⚓️❤️⚓️❤️
Love this boat. Perfect cruising and live aboard yacht. Compared to other boats it’s fantastic value for money…. Great tour.
What a stunning boat!
My favorite thing about that easy load lazarette has to be the speed at which it opens and closes.
"Perfect" boat, thanks for sharing! ✅
Thanks for watching!
Great tour of a very nice boat. Thank you, Nick ... you're the best!!!
So many unique features. Love this boat!
