Lol I feel you on the firefish. Mine is always out but it has about a 12” square it spends most of its day swimming in. Half the day my one clown comes over and chills beside it, kind of funny lol.
Great videos mate.. so clear and easy to follow… just bought my first ever reef tank .. went with the Red Sea max nano peninsula.. keep up the great work 👍🏻
Soft coral recommendation, look for toadstool with bright polyps. Orange yellow or the common bright green. Clowns pair up with them well, their tiny polyps will add some movement with time.
I know this is a little older but I have a cabbage leath, r and it's been greatIt's veryry easy and covers the rock I have it on nicely. Plus, it's not aggressive at all. Nice tank. Thanks for sharing.
I thought that, but I spent a good 2 hours watching the tank. The firefish comes out to feed and the clownfish never bothers it. Saying that every time the clown goes near the firefish it darts back in the cave. I think if it was in a tank on its own I would see if more, it's just so scared of everything 😂
Brilliant video mate, was looking forward to seeing this one and you didn't disappoint, loved it, the tank looks incredible and a credit to you for the hard work!
Love the update; very inspirational...also love the IM 20...I have the same one...Had it up since May 2021...looking forward to uploading the videos...
Tank is looking incredible mate , absolutely stunning, I absolutely love that bounce mushroom definitely need something like that in mine, colours and life is amazing, but above all so minimalistic and just absolutely works. Great work mate 👍👍👍
Cheers Ste, yeah the bounce is pretty nice isn't it. The minimalistic style isn't for everyone but I like it and it's bloody easy to maintain. I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out 🙂
I hope you are feeding those feather dusters. They will need enough phyto to turn your tank slightly green. Do that or take them back to the LFS. So much for your light bio load lol.
Loved the video, what you’ve created is exactly what I’m on the path hoping to create, just with the Waterbox 25 peninsula. Just waiting for the cycle to finish. Looking to get pair of clowns, Royal Gramma and maybe Blenny then work on a zoa garden with a rock anemone
Lovely little tank that! What about a Photosynthetic gorgonian in the back right corner of the rockwork for a complete contrast in form This will add some height, will frame the corals in front and draw the eye away from the back glass. Regardless its a beautiful tank anyway.
A little late to the party but pink nepthia is a beautiful softy. How often do you change the bio balls, and how has the kenya tree done for you? Cheers
I found when I had fire fish in the past that they would spend most of the time swimming against the flow. Perhaps it is because your flow is very random with those random flow generators? If the flow was more "surging" perhaps he would swim in that more. Just a guess.
Lovely tank mate. I had the opposite experience with ATO ( auto top off ) I put aside my TMC for the H2Ocean as my TMC failed me after a year ? I would really love to hear why your ATO failed you ? As I am using the light sensor one ☝️ that you showed in this tank ( green light). Thanks mate 😀👍🏽
Beauteful Tank. But my Firefish is swimming in against the flow nearly all day. So I see him all the day. He is just hiding in his cave in the night :)
Your purple firefish will come out much more often if you get 1 or two more. I have 2 purple and 1 red and they're out all the time together. At first I had only 1 and noticed it always hid, so I got 2 more and all of them come out all the time, they only hide during water changes.
I think the reason your firefish hides is because of the small space, lack of schooling mates and the territorial clowns. I have two purple fire fish and they swim in the middle section all day long until night time when they hide to sleep. I have a 350 litre tank with 1 foxface, blue tang, yellow tang, 2 clowns, 1 fanged blenny, 1 demsel, 1 cleaner wrasse, 2 clowns, 1 royal gramma, 1 red hawkfish and loads of inverts. None of them are hiding from each other
Love the commentary on the fire fish! Not an exciting fish! I will comment on the zoas though. I don't like recommending them to beginners. I feel that people should study up on palytoxin before they purchase Zoanthids or Palythoa too many kids are keeping poisonous corals without understanding the ramifications. Cheers, Chris
Both very different tanks, this one is more a living piece of art and the other more an active reef tank. Truth be told as a reef tank this one is a little boring, it's very static and not very active as the fish don't swim around all that much. I still like them both though 😁
I've wanted to go bigger for a while but the more I think about it the more I feel like my 2 tanks are the perfect size for my lifestyle. Maintenance is sooo much easier on a smaller tank too. Imagine going a 20% waterchange on a reefer 900 😫
He's definitely not getting bullied, I've watched him for hours when he comes in and out and the clownfish don't touch him. I agree with what your saying though, he's obviously not happy and is probably intimidated by the clowns. I'll consider pulling him this weekend and replacing with something else 🙂
Finally a video that's a straight shooter!
All the info and straight to the point! Thank you!
That scape is so minimalist but so beautiful thank you for the inspiration

Nice tank. Thanks for sharing.
What an amazing tank!
I think your lady clownfish might be bullying your fire fish, and therefore it could be hiding where the clown can’t get to it.
I thought that, but I spent a good 2 hours watching the tank. The firefish comes out to feed and the clownfish never bothers it. Saying that every time the clown goes near the firefish it darts back in the cave. I think if it was in a tank on its own I would see if more, it's just so scared of everything 😂

Cheers Ross! Other than the odd aiptasia sprouting here and there I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out 🙂
Nice update on the Nano Tris. Oh i do like those fake lime chillies!!!
That reminds me, I promised you some of these. I'll get on the case as soon as I can buddy 🙂
Nice video. The coral is colorful, it spoils my eyes
Thank you
love seeing what you did with your 20 gallons, inspires me with mine!
Love the update; very inspirational...also love the IM 20...I have the same one...Had it up since May 2021...looking forward to uploading the videos...
Thanks dude 😊
Love this soooo much! Best nano out there!
I agree with you about the Fire fish goby, mine also hide a lot, very boring indeed.
That tank is dreamyyyyyyy 🥶
My firefish is exactly the same way
Stunning tank mate! Very simple but a great choice of corals, love how the Acans and Zoas are all mixed together and look amazing! Nice one! 👍
Cheers buddy!
Got an update on the tank and what equipment your using?
i think i like tanks like this the most more minimalistic and with mostly soft corals!
Cracking update! Tank looks awesome mate 👍
Cheers Andy 😎
Japanese willow toadstool would be a nice leather coral to have and would add some movement
I saw a nice Japanese toadstool in my LFS the other week, it had been sold though. I'm currently on the hunt for another 😁

Hi! great video! I think your tank & light look great! I bet your main tank looks amazing! 😀👍
Love this little nano tank. Just subscribed to your channel!
I love this tank.
Cheers mate 😁
Nice job! Great tank.
Cheers buddy

Always looking amazing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Cheers mate, that's a great combo! Simple stock that's easy to maintain 😎
The blastos look cool
Great breakdown friend
Thanks freaking Grand!
Cheers buddy
He's not boring he's just alone
My fire-fish was shy for a few months, now he’s always swimming around, I would just be patient

I love your tour tank and approach on your setup… we have sorta similar setups
Beautiful tank. If I were to add corals to the front left side, High dollar would be scolymia, low dollar long tentacle toadstool.
I've considered adding something to the front left but I think it will take away from the look I'm going for
Cool tank bro, really like it. Probably adding a gsp island would look cool, it will add more movement to the tank.
Great video.coral looks fantastic
Looks great!
Cheers buddy
Not really a nano tank but beautiful none the less!
Great setup mate!
Keep up the good work
Neon leather Cabbage is beautiful. There's some great ones on ebay depending on location.
I found when I had fire fish in the past that they would spend most of the time swimming against the flow. Perhaps it is because your flow is very random with those random flow generators? If the flow was more "surging" perhaps he would swim in that more. Just a guess.
I also bought a fire fish not realizing they just hide all day. I agree, not worth having one at all.
A clam would look ace on the sand bed there
Love your rock nem where did you get that in the Uk ?
I'm pretty sure I got this one from a place called BBA Atlantis buddy
Lovely tank mate. I had the opposite experience with ATO ( auto top off ) I put aside my TMC for the H2Ocean as my TMC failed me after a year ? I would really love to hear why your ATO failed you ? As I am using the light sensor one ☝️ that you showed in this tank ( green light). Thanks mate 😀👍🏽
The sensor housing cracked and allowed water to get in. It was rusting on the inside and stopped functioning
@@NanoTankReefer ah cheers for that mate. I’ll have to keep an eye out for cracks then. 👍🏽
Beauteful Tank. But my Firefish is swimming in against the flow nearly all day. So I see him all the day. He is just hiding in his cave in the night :)
Im sold, my next project will be a salt water tank.
Look for long tentacle Japanese leathers, they're pretty funky looking.
I'll keep my eye out. I saw a nice Japanese toadstool in my LFS the other day. Unfortunately it was sold by the time I got there 😔
hello do you do water changes on this tank to maintain it or do you dose and do water changes as well?
Your purple firefish will come out much more often if you get 1 or two more. I have 2 purple and 1 red and they're out all the time together. At first I had only 1 and noticed it always hid, so I got 2 more and all of them come out all the time, they only hide during water changes.

Yeah i was about to say its because if the two clowns in such a small tank
The reason your fire fish hides is because you have two territorial clown fish in a small tank

This is a bit dated video but if I had that open space...I would put a piece of Yellow Fiji Leather there!
Great tank! I noticed you have the overflow water riser, is that 3d print?
Cheers buddy, yes the water risers are 3d printed. A mate of mine printed them for me
Did you ever upgrade return pumps for the random flow generators or do you find the smaller mighty jet sufficient?
I see a lot of cyno in there have you ever tried with success to get rid of it
Important when dosing, 75 litres = 20 US gallons but only 16.6 UK gallons
Absolutely! I only use litres for all my calculations for that reason
What are those blue zoas?
Hi, What measurements does the aquarium have?
You changedvwater every week? What percentage?
Nano tank reefer...your aquarium is very nice you can help me with those colors of your radion
I actually think this is better than your bigger tank! Both great tho!
Both very different tanks, this one is more a living piece of art and the other more an active reef tank. Truth be told as a reef tank this one is a little boring, it's very static and not very active as the fish don't swim around all that much. I still like them both though 😁
Beautiful tank!! Approximately how much is that entire set-up?
I've done a video on how much it app cost 🙂 have a look through the nano tank build playlist
how can I get two if those filter floss cups?
Do you have a link for the ato youre using?
Thanks
Were can I order this 3d printed boxes
Is that an Ikea Hemnes dresser? Hows it hold up with the weight of the tank?
Well spotted. I've added some extra legs to the cabinet and it's now more than stable
Love this tank. Where do you get your corals from ?
Cheers mate, I get them from all over mate. Some of the corals like the rock flower I've had for years and moved from my other tank
@@NanoTankReefer looks great mate well done. I have a waterbox 170 litre... Smaller tanks are better
Much quicker and cheaper to fill with corals 🙌
@@NanoTankReefer agreed. Cleaner look too. I have a 130 display with a 50 litre sump and to be honest I would go any bigger.
I've wanted to go bigger for a while but the more I think about it the more I feel like my 2 tanks are the perfect size for my lifestyle. Maintenance is sooo much easier on a smaller tank too. Imagine going a 20% waterchange on a reefer 900 😫
your aquarium is very nice you can help me with those colors of your radion
Add another purple fire fish or another small dither fish and yours will come out more often
Where is the tail spotted Bennie?
Do you have the link for that auto top off?
If you're in the UK you can pick it up from most online retailers buddy 🙂
@@NanoTankReefer oh dang i’m in the US
Sounds like trap lore Ross
What programation please?
What do you mean buddy?
I rate the D&D auto topoff but don't rate the heat controller though mine broke after like 2 month's.
having doubts getting firefish 😂
Fire fish doesn’t come out because it doesn’t have sight breaks. Mine hid until it found a spot where it could hang and not see my clowns
Now that I didn't know. Thanks for the info buddy!
Hi how to connect with you. have a couple of questions regards reef tanks hopigng you could answer thanks!
Drop me a message on Instagram buddy
@nano_tank_reefer
Thank you sent you a message man
I have the same tank do u sell the 3D printed cups?
I don't have a 3d printer buddy, a mate of mine that does printed them for me
a clam would be cool
If I added a clam I would likely have to keep alk and calcium super stable
Without dosing I don't think it would last very long 😔
@@NanoTankReefer what about a weeping willow toadstool (although i havent been able to get one near me in the uk sadly, they look awesome )
Thought id be first :)
The other fish gets bullied lol
you probably should remove the fire fish, he get bullied that's why he hid all the time, eventually will get stressed out
He's definitely not getting bullied, I've watched him for hours when he comes in and out and the clownfish don't touch him. I agree with what your saying though, he's obviously not happy and is probably intimidated by the clowns. I'll consider pulling him this weekend and replacing with something else 🙂
FIREFISH SUCK!
This is not nano
Its nice tho
Not a nano reef 🪸 lol I have a real bank reef it’s 4 gallons total
