I started my business with $50 at Lowes. Bought Ettore mop, squeegee, pole, and a 12 pack of shitty microfiber towels. Bought a handheld pump sprayer for my solution (didn't know how much better a bucket was). I actually had a lot of success with the stuff I bought, but I think I got really lucky with my squeegee, because I've bought a couple others that are absolute trash. (I still use that original squeegee for some hard to access spots and doors. The low profile and low angle of the squeegee channel makes it fit behind push bars really well, and it can fit around weird stuff pretty well.) I've since upgraded to Unger handles with Sorbo channels and Black Diamond rubbers. I like the Unger poles better than the Ettore, but I still have my original microfiber mop. It's not very thick, so it's not the greatest, but I still use it for some deep scrubbing here and there. Man, I've really come a long way in just a couple of months! Went from a $50 Lowes setup to now owning a range of gear, including my dual DI tank WFP. Love your vids, man. Keep them coming.
WayneTec it’s definitely a great way to get started, I just think the stuff online is better, but it’s funny how the stuff you start with always has a special place. How do you like black diamond rubber?
I've only bought one squeegee from a big box store. A 6" chrome Ettore 20+, years ago and I use it daily. I've looked at the consumer crap on the shelves a couple of times and I just can't see throwing my money in the can. As far as ladders go, I highly recommend the American Made section ladders from Detroit Sponge and Chamois/ Brilliant windows. They will outlast most window cleaners and the investment pays off quickly. A painter turned me on to the Pivit Ladder leveling tool, which is the best invention for leveling thw ladder on roofs, ground, stairs, etc.. What kind of camera/ tripod/ brace/ software do you use for recording? Is the latency delay an editing software glitch?
Scott Wasinski go pro hero 5&6, rode mic and a lot of different mounts for the go pros. I also use my phone cause the audio is always good and the image is great
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner what editing software do you use? How long did it take you to get the hang of editing? How much time is invested into a video, on the average?
These are better versions of the optiloc and you can get replacement parts for it windowcleaner.com/products/unger-optiloc-extension-pole?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS
Some of the ettore handles at Lowes use their stainless steel channels and rubbers. If you see made in china, it's probabaly a cheap aluminum extrusion and junk rubber. Also, some Lowes carry Ettore.18" replacement rubber packed as singles. I called ettore once and they verified it is the same rubber sold through the big WC distributors.
Its getting cold here to man. Got anow in the mountains hail the other day and rain for like the last week and a half cramping my style. Lol this coming week is supposed to be good tho.
Get the buckets from Walmart with lid. Encore plastics makes a 7 dollar bucket with a leak proof lid. I had an incident where they sent me the wrong rubbers that didn't fit my ettore 14 inch round. They sent the t ones. So I can an old 14 inch ettore rubber to 12 inches and put it in the Unger channel from home Depot and it worked better than using an old rubber with bad sides. No streaking but I had to do more clean up around the edges. Worse case scenario it works! Lol
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner oh I like Unger products... All i am saying is I have 3 of the Home Depot mop with that sleeve... And I have found the the scrubber wears quick.. But the mop side lasts a long time.
Your tip on the squeegee was extremely valuable!

I liked the actually t bar itself but the sleeve I didn’t care for.
Jacob Williams the t-bar has a nice comfortable grip but the sleeve is definitely scraping the barrel
Stevo what sorbo channel do you use the most?
Casey Lee quicksilver 18” but honestly only been using them in my ledgers lately
I live on the second floor, is there anything that I can use to clean the outside from the inside. like a pole that is flexible
There are a ton of windows that you can take one side out, of from the inside. Then you have access to both windows.
Good info. Thanks for the video 👍
That Unger pole broke on me quickly. Couldn't find tip replacement at all, so I gave up on it.
Does anyone know where parts are sold.

The aluminum channels are decent, put some good blades in them.
I love the unger soap.

Thank you
I bought my 10 gallon wash bucket there
We are the same about the rubber
That strip on the sleeve wears out fast..
Kevin the Window Cleaner I bet, I have another one from unger with the strip on it though and it’s lasted for years

how’s the unger replaceable rubber at home depot?
Not good, buy this windowcleaner.com/ettore-master-squeegee-rubber?pt=MY
home depot and lowes have good Unger or ettore solution and far less expensive than the main window cleaning supply stores
Dave The Window Licker dawn soap all day!! Cheapest and available everywhere!! Hope your doing great DAVE!!
