Thank you. Fixing the faucet for my boys, husband and father too. Man, that Dexter music scared me! You were so quiet and boom, horns!
Totally worked for me. Simple and straight to the point. Thank you sir.
Huge fan of your videos Danny. They are always so thorough and easy to follow. Please try to make videos more often. Thanks!
THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPERIOR VIDEO. IT SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY DOING THIS JOB MYSELF. I PUT THE NEW STEM IN AND IT STILL LEAKED. SO I FOLLOWED YOUR ADVICE AND PUT THE SEAT ON IT. NOW IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM!!! YOU ARE THE BEST AND AGAIN THANK YOU.
Hey Danny. I couldn't figure out why even with new cartridges my faucets were leaking...I wasn't replacing the seat, which I thought was an adapter for the handle!! The seat replacement fixed my problem. Thanks!!
Good job. An actual at home project demonstration
I used Danco 2K - 2H stems and they only turn one-quarter with my knobs. I hope they are generic stems for levers. If not, then I installed them wrong. I am very gratefull you emphasized installing the stems in the flattened, compressed position. I searched hours for that tip. Even Danco tech support could not tell me that tip.
Thanks so much, this is my exact faucet. I'd like to keep it vintage if possible!
A verry good demonstration. I learn a lot. I was able to do de job. Tank You
Thanks Danny that was very helpful
thanks a lot for sharing , your video was a great help, i couldn't get a new part, I only had to exchange the little black ring under the cartridge and it worked for me, but looks like i will have to get a new cartridge though. thanks again .
Thanks so much for this video.
Thank you for the video. Could you show how to change the seat.

Friday afternoon, 5:30 p.m., I notice the wife's tub hot water leaking and won't shut off! PANIC! Call a plumber??? With after hour charges, time and materials....gotta be hundreds and who knows how long to get here.....WHAT TO DO?!?!?
UA-cam IT!!
I watched this video, ran to the local HD, spent 5 minutes getting the parts, came home, followed the directions and WAH LA!!
Faucets fixed!! Dad's the hero!! (Oh yeah, I'm a computer nerd not very handy around the house!)
Let's not tell mom and daughter my secret weapon is How2Plumb!! ;)
You guys rock!
+Lamar Pearce lol nice! Thanks for the support!
In regard to my previous question yesterday, I am assuming the washer did not have a screw holding it on. I could not see it well enough in your video.
Enjoyed the video a lot. It looks simple. However, when I looked on Amazon for replacement American Standard bathroom faucet cartridges, I found dozens of model numbers. With my luck, I'd get one that wouldn't fit. How do I know what model cartridge to order?
I have one of these exact lav faucets I took out years ago from an old rental house, its an old American Standard. Damn thing is solid brass and weighs like three pounds-lol At the time I didn't want to mess with it and just installed a new faucet, but seeing this video made me go dig it up take it apart and clean it up. Mine must be an older model as it doesn't have the same seat washer design yours does, do you still have the cartridge numbers for this faucet? Mine has the old style flat washer and screw arrangement, im guessing its 1960's or so. No model number anywhere I can find so I don't know what cartridge it takes, dont need it but I love to fix old things up and make em work again-lol
Called r series. Noel's plumbing supply in Cincinatti sells the cartidges. Have them in our 1960s house too.
wnhere can I find the flat type washer (i call it an upside down top hat) you used in your video? My sink is American Standard 1960 vintage.
My locknut WOULD NOT budge. Any suggestions to get it out?
Hey Danny in 17 years old and I'm a senior in high school and I would like to be a plumber I was wondering what is the best way to go about it an apprenticeship or plumber school and what is the average yearly income
Hey Tommy, I see your comment is 5 years old. Did you make it into a plumbing trade school? My son did that very thing here in Texas. He's a licensed plumber now and loves his job! Hope it all worked out for you.
I was doing the right thing but not getting the right solution. Initially my problem was water leaking from the base of the faucet. I bought a new seat and stem but no matter how much I close the faucet, water now comes out---a flow---of the faucet.
I followed your instructions and the stinkin' thing still drips, after $23 for the cylinder. Any suggestions?
Thanks
+Charlie F did you try to change the seats as well?
no,I did not. I must have missed that part. Are they under the cylinder? Thanks
I can't get it out...I don't have a seat wrench and the allen wrench isn't working.
It would be cheaper to replace the whole faucet. They don't cost that much.
If it’s a small drip you could probably just get away with tightening down the locknut a little bit more and saving some money
No that would not work
I can't remove the handle won't come off..Don't want to break it.What now??
I don't know how you easily pull off the knob. My bathroom sink knob will not come off after removing the screw.
Ok but what if the faucet is still dripping water even with the stops under the sink are shut off?
lol $180?? I'm in the wrong business 😎
That video was not impressive
Thank you so much for the support!
