Hi Adam, you shown us the box with hearing aids & told us a story. I'm born deaf, wear hearing aids all my life & rely on lip reading. Hearing aids doesn't sound like dial-up (that made me chuckle). It's just feedback due to either the aid not sitting in the ear properly or the ear moulds have shrunk therefore needs new impressions. I'm going through your videos & thoroughly enjoying them. Am so very grateful to you for having close captions (subtitles) activated so that it's voice generated, for deaf people to understand what you are saying. Some UA-camrs won't even add it which is a shame. Thanks for sharing 😁.

The kitchens in these places are often the saddest part to me. I worked in the kitchen/dining room of a day home for disabled adults, When I think of the activity, the laughter, the happiness in seeing everyone at meal time, then compare it to the quiet, lonely state of these rooms, it gets to me. Budget cuts at my center forced us to discontinue serving meals, and I went to work elsewhere in the building. We'd still come to the dining room to eat our packed lunches, but it was a completely different atmosphere--just depressing!

Great explore! So sad to see fire damage in a healthcare home. My husband was in a continuous care facility for 7 months. He had Alzheimer's and had cancer. He had the best care while he was there! You mentioned your Gran's care was £1000 which is almost exactly what his was $1750 Cdn. That was around 5 years ago.

Rewatched. Adam, I am touched by your empathy for the resident and what horror they must have gone through. So very sad. I think the former owner of the tie would have been pleased to see his tie being repurposed in the bird nest. :) The fire extinguisher sitting in the chair in the hallway...seems like someone tried to battle the flames but gave up. Amazing and tragic find. Well done.

i am not sure about other countries but here in canada homes are run on skeleton staff over night, because most residents take so much meds they sleep all night long. staff only have to deal with the ones that wander all night when doing rounds. so in a fire, holy crap you are going insane because you dont have backup when it first starts. i know this because i worked in nursing homes my entire working life.

Once you said where it was, finding news articles about the fire took about 2 seconds. According to what I could find the place was sold in 2020, so either that fell through or the new owners haven't had a chance to do anything yet.
The satellite view on google maps shows the damage to the roof.
If they were crammed in there 2 to a room then I'm not sure that it was as good as you think it was.

It seemed like the same stuff we had in the 90's nursing homes. I worked in a more modern one for 20 years and they were THE nicest people, staff and residents both. It is owned by a trust fund set up for the elderly by an elderly couple who were wealthy, and there is no greed in the running of the place, it all goes back into the fund for the residents 😃❤

This has the look of a good care home in it’s day. It’s sad that it was abandoned in these circumstances. It must have been terrifying for residents and staff to evacuate during the fire. So many good items left behind. I think the items on the office were tens machines for relieving muscular pain.. It beats me why the owners didn’t perhaps claim insurance for the damage and get the building restored at the time.I would like to think that some wealthy person will buy and restore this building before it is too late. Thanks for a great explore.

£1000... that’s not bad for the resident. 24-hour care, medication, room and food, hygiene care, laundry, tv, phone, safety and lack of worry for their families.

Very sad, I work in a care home . Must have been absolutely terrifying for the poor residents and night staff.

Adam Mark, you were made for this, so cute and interested, noticing everything, making up stories☺and sharing your thoughts, etc. I ran out of the paranormal vids and checking out some of these other ones, mainly because you're so enjoyable to watch. I noticed two fire extinguishers unused in the kitchen area...makes one wonder, like, what's the point of having them lol.
