My humble advice:
The next thing you can do is,
take a 1 Acre of land
and do these steps practically yourself
and of course, make time-lapse videos,
at the end of 3 months, you should have a full workout of your theory in field
and that will make you the OWNER of a 'Gardening Course/ 'Food Forest', whatever you call it.
And people will have no choice to come and learn from you.

Thank you for sharing! Looking at getting some land soon, God willing, and building a food forest! I appreciate your wisdom and insight.
I love the idea of using this on some old pastures/farmland, and then just hunting the wildlife that eventually returns, supplementing with edible flora. That's the goal, an eventual return to Hunter-Gatherer, but actually incorporating myself into the ecology as more than just a consumer. Maybe a bit of a pipe-dream atm, but it's something to work towards I think.

This is such a necessary tool for growing food now. It’s too bad it takes so much money and time to grow. We started ours, mostly from seed (most of which did not germinate) 3 years ago but we have native species of elderberry, willow, birch, high bush cranberry, and some cheap big box fruit trees (I know, I know). We’ve also propagated some local grape vine, black currant and raspberry. It’s coming along slowly but we hope to see some fruit this year.

Am hoping to install a Syntropic system in india this wet season, but all the Syntropic videos online, while hugely informative, just overwhelmed and confused me in my own design process. Was hopeful we’d get a video like this, and was over the moon when I saw you’d released this. This will really help me get a solid foundation for my system design!

I know this was just a small part of the video, but it was a very important detail. Could you make more videos/content whatever to share your experience with plants that don't actually want full sun? If the information from nurseries or on sites like PFAF (i really love this one for getting details about plants) isn't accurate, it would be great to get some of your experience about what these plants actually do like, thank you!

This obviously dosent work for comercial prodution. Can work for homestead selfsuficient kind of thing, but the amount of work is imense. If you want to go for more then half an acre better be VERY ENERGETIC or have acess to cheap/free labour...and money.
But, if its done right becomes a fast dense prodution forest.

Awesome video. Thanks! When having bigger trees, so the nests get bigger with more spacing? I'm talking about like 5 diameter trees equals maybe 7m spacing or how do fit bigger trees in this concept? I also would make the nests bigger when planting a big tree in the middle of the nest. Whats your opinion?
Love the nest concept especially as Byron mentioned in a more esthetic setting. I made a design for someone once where we had older large trees in a arid and very brittle landscape (Namibia) Along a dry riverbed, and she wanted Camping spots under these big trees for her clients. So I designed a spiral around each large tree wich included earthworks to catch surface run off and very specific plant positions related to sun orientation and seasons (short rainy season 200mm and long dry as well as cold winters).
Sadly only a design on paper for now.
This kind of stuff keeps me up in the middle of the night, love it!

Thanks Byron, …we have an acre and a half in northeast thailand we plan to do a food forest. Its pretty bare and hot. Do you recommend a drip water system, and/or any artificial shade for the first year or so.

I did quiet the same a fewvyears ago, I didn't know it had a name. I am going to expand now that the sugar cane is gone. Would you recommend to burn all the leaves from the sugar cane and start over ? Or should I use it as a mulch?

Don't claim you can teach everything there is to know about syntropy, because you don't know everything in the first place.
No, one can and we won't even come close to knowing everything within a 100 years.
This isn't like a computer code that we can get feedback on within a few seconds. In natural systems we get feedback within years, in forest ecosystems we get feedback within decades, sometimes even centuries.
Ernst Götsch has given us a lot, but what he figured out primarily applies to the extremely nutrient-poor and acid soils of the Atlantic rainforests of Brazil, where, although light intensity is high, primary production is relatively low.
In other climatic and edaphic conditions ecosystems do not work in the same ways. As an example, Succession is something almost entirely absent of the fynbos grasslands, because growth conditions are so bad that it takes centuries before succession can take place.
So, what is needed then is a more holistic understanding of ecology, which attempts to see primary production from a plant's perspective. All I can say for certain, is that it would include the different requirements of plants and divide it into niches.
Thus we aren't focused on abstract and inconsistent concepts, such as life cycles, succession, strata, but on actual plant requirements, such as exchangeable bases, nitrogen, light, temperature, salinity, heavy metals and most importantly competition.
Oh, and this is not to take anything away from your video.
But you cannot teach everything there is to know.
I could probably fill a video twice as long with things that you left out.
