Fun fact...only 2 PAC12 teams have made the CFP...Oregon and Washington. It does sadden me to see the PAC12 dissolve though.

Not always based on merit though.... Couple teams got left out of the playoffs...😊 That arguably should have been included.

I think MSU is scared because Oregon is a better program and brand.

Oregon couldn't stay put because the Pac 12 deteriorated last year with sc and ucla leaving. If Oregon was to stay and win year after year against weak competition it becomes a strength of schedule problem. Oregon's class is currently ranked 7th nationally with 13 four star prospects. They'll compete and have a winning record each year in the BIG10.

Man! When oregon was down in basketball in the late 2000s early 2010s I started paying attention to the MSU basketball. That 2009 final four team made MSU become my second favorite college basketball team. Boy am I happy they will makinf trips to the PNW regularly now.

I blame Oklahoma and Texas, they started it by going to the SEC. Had that not happened everything would still be copacetic. And you just don't get it, keep it copacetic - Local H forsaw the future.

As a Duck fan, I'm looking forward to finally seeing things decided on the field. What with all the new conference matchups and 12-team playoff, media hype is going the way of the Pac12. Onward and upward. Go Ducks!

I ran cross country and track at msu. Having new teams out west won’t affect things basically at all. Most of your meets are pretty close to home (and not against big ten teams). Think notre dame, grand valley, michigan.
Regionals and big tens could be affected but only if they move them out west. Thats basically 0-2 trips per season. Those sports are not like basketball or high school where you have dual meets against one big ten team. Its all just big invitationals you schedule on your own.

The 4 incoming team's add alot of quality football to the big 10. The conference was pretty weak last year. Except for top 3 team's

If I was a Pac 12 fan I would be LIVID!!! I WOULD BE PISSED IF THE BIG 10 STARTED GETTING BROKEN UP! GOOD FOR US THOUGH I GUESS.

Wow. Salty. Not that i wouldn't have preferred it if football wasn't so money driven.... Even at the cost of the health of college football.... Or if the PAC had had competent leadership that didn't fail it's universities. But There's also a reason that these matchups are going to draw a large audience. There's also something exciting happening in all this.
The apple deal was not aa workable solution. How many people are going to get to even watch those games! It literally does not work for a truly competitive football program. The pack was mismanaged and was dead. How do you think Oregon and Washington would have done in recruiting? How long do you think they would have been able to perform at a really high level with that Apple deal? You think Ohio State or Michigan would have taken that deal?!!! You have got to be kidding me! 🤪🤣
The national championship thing is way overrated though... The beauty about old school traditional college ball, was You can make it to a bowl game and have a chance to win one more game. These days it's like you're not a winner unless you win the game that device "all of college football". And everyone else is a loser? That's competition to the level of narcissism.

Excited to have y’all. I don’t like the idea of power 2 or power 3 conferences, but I’d rather have my team be a part of them than not be a part of them.

I doubt they change the playoff structure until the next time the deal is up the g5 teams will be happy with the representation and it will essentially be byes for the top teams that are not conference champs.

When we started paying players more than tuition football was no longer an armature sport. That being said I am all in favor of a few mega conferences. It in fact lines up with playoffs and eventually an actual championship. If you want traditional college football, it will still exist in smaller conferences. I may start going to Central Michigan games in Mt. Pleasant.

Playoff has nothing to do with power five champs just top 6 champs and there will be at least 9 conferences still.

Suggestion to MSU: We need a practice field and a dorm facility out West to have a home away from home for consistency, comfort and privacy.

Does this mean the B1G gets rid of the cupcake games (sorry, not sorry scUM) and kill the agreement with the MAC? No room for ‘tune-ups’ anymore. B1G play will need to start week 1 in ‘24!
