- As part of the Kingston Stories series we take a look at Kingston University Journalism graduate Jamal Osman who has made a phenomenal journey from Somali refugee to Channel 4 news reporter.
We hear from his Professor about the impression he made on the university and the effort he put into gaining his degree following a traumatic childhood in Somalia.

A Great Journalist, one to admire Mashalah
I like the the fact he discovered in kenya"fake pirares" some of western journalists hire their pirate actors in kenya instead of meeting the real pirates in somalia. Jamal talked to those who acted as pirates that was realy very interesting.
this is a great story it nice to see his hard work pay off even though the odds where stacked against him
