I just got re-certified in CPR, and something I’d forgotten about until I took this class again, is that if someone is in distress you are required by law to do something. And if that person is unable to give their consent, which you would obviously try to get before you start, you are protected under law by assuming that that persons consent has been given if they can’t express it. It’s probably for people like her that they made this clear distinction.

It also states that the rescuer can't be sued for trying to help the victim. Therefore, you have no case.
