Organizing and designing these books is definitely your forte. This is so cool, Felicia! Love the quote area, and the coffee, and the water, and the picture of the day, and the song of the day...oh, scratch that. Geez, you're Good at this!
ROFL! Thanks Eileen! Its been way more fun than I thought it would be. And a lot more easy to keep up with than having all these ideas I want to do spread everywhere. Nice to keep it in one spot! AND use up a ton of this stuff I just have sitting around here lol Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I LOVE your page design! I have bought a journal to create my own faux-bonichi, and I love it that your pages are not cluttered! And I truly find your idea to use your stamps so clever!! I might adopt your ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Awe thanks so much for the wonderful comment! Its been a lot of fun. I just couldnt handle the "whole blank page" thing lol I sat and looked at the book for weeks before finally thinking "duh just make smaller boxed areas" and poof now I love it and use it all the time. Silly brain lol Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
So glad I found you I been seeing so many of them I do what to start one but I'm not sure every day but you gave me some ideas basically it's a journal scrapbook on your your day week the life which I like instead you decorate which is really nice so it makes it more you and your life thanks so much
I have watched a lot of videos on creating a journal and always come back to yours. You have the most creative and practical ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. I've been enjoying your videos for quite awhile now. Just hope I can put some of them to use.
I really like this! I have that same Miguel RIUS journal, but I was only writing in it. I've never been a crafty person, but you have given me some great ideas for having more fun with it. I've only just started a couple days ago, so it's easy to make changes now. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Thanks so much for watching! I have the water printout posted on my Faux Bonichi facebook group if you want to print it out. I dont have the coffee one up but will eventually. facebook.com/groups/AllThingsFauxBonichi/ Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big big hugs) Felicia =0]
I love how you are doing this and I like the idea of writing on the right side and then a paper something on the left. I don't like to write on paper when there is some bleed through. Good idea. Thanks for sharing - giving me inspiration.
oh this is awesome! I found some online. So cool! Love the weather idea! LOL! They are so rarely right on the east coast. Love keeping track of water and coffee too! I love all your fun projects! I made a book that you showed using the grommets with the keychains... brilliant!
Love this! Ive wanted an actual hobo for a while now but can't justify the expense from Japan. I love the way you have yours set up it looks like so much fun, my OCD loves how organized it all looks, I might have to take this setup and use it when I get my notebook(s) and see what works for me and what doesn't... Im still trying to decide if I want to use it like an art journal of sorts or if I want to do something more like what you have.
Thank you for this! I've recently gotten into the planner/journal thing and it's hard when you're a perfectionist. I try to do it "the right way" knowing there really isn't a "right way" to do this stuff. I bought the same notebook for the same purpose. I did one page a week ago and that's all I've done to it. You've given me inspiration and ideas, so thank you for that! I know it's going to evolve into a lot of different things, different styles & format and I'm just gonna go with it. TFS!
Girl I so hear ya on the perfectionist thing. I put this idea off for months before finally thinking HOW can I make this work so I use it. Divided up the pages and decided to woman up and just "let the rest go" lol For $10 its not like I broke the bank if I just hated it. Good luck with your journal! Yup that is why I am only doing a week at a time. That way I gave myself permission to say "hate it change it" lol when the next week comes up. The first day I was scared to mess it up. Week and a half later I am already just going with the what ever lands there flow. Its fun! Enjoy!! Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
LOL You have your own daily thing going. Its amazing how many of those cards you have done this year. They have changed so much over the year too. I cant wait to see them all together!! Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I too am a homeschooling mom and am now I'm inspired to do the "fauxbonichi"! I have been on the Fauxdori kick for a while and still love it, but am looking for a place, like you said, to "use up" all of the extras I have lying around! Thanks so much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for validating my abject horror at the thought of writing both on the left page and on the back of a page! This is something that has driven me nutz for my entire life! I love what you're doing with this journal - putting each section where it's most comfortable for you is brilliant. You seem so unsure of your artistic talent and yet I'm seeing tons of it here and in all your videos ...your creativity just amazes me. So glad you shared this! Btw, your "Faux Bonichi" is awesome ... you should copywrite that! :)
ROFL! Welcome! I cant do it. I dont mind seeing the writing thru the paper as long as I dont have to right on it. And then having to write on the left when it doesn't even sit flat.. nope cant do it. This was like the best of all worlds. Use the pens I want to use, dont worry about the bleed through and use up stickers I would never use hahaha. Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Nice layout!..very simple. I want to do a journal a day...pretty style. I have a plain planner that i jot some thoughts on. Seeing your video has inspired me to get a little more creative :) Thanks
Thanks so much for your kind comment!! Glad you found some inspiration. I have wanted to do this forever but let my brain talk me out of it. Glad to finally just do it lol and enjoy it. Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I'm just starting mine and wanted to get a few ideas, thanks! I actually love and understand your reasoning for working on the right side of the book.... I had an idea while I was watching. I hate writing off the end of a book too so maybe place another book the same thickness next to the edge so your hand has a place to rest.... if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing and I joined the FB group too!
Hi Tracy! I adore those clear labels. They print wonderfully and they were on clearance when I got them so cheap to! HAHAHA Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I love your ideas! My favorite faux Hobonichi ideas so far. I agree with your opinion about using the back of a page for writing - I hate it! Will be favoriting this for my own. I purchased my journal yesterday and will be starting this week.
How did you your journal work out?? Hope you are having fun with it!! Yup cant handle writing on the back of the page. Especially when there are so many pretty things I can just glue there! LOL Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Love what you've done. What a lot of work (fun work). I don't have the time for that kind of thing right now, but hopefully next year after I retire. I'm so into making junk journals right now. And I'm actually filling one in from my trip to Hawaii!! Have no idea what I'm going to do with the rest of them though lol
Hey Chickie! I thought it would take a lot of time too but in the end it takes about 10 mins a week to lay the grid out and poof ready to rock. I just poke at it through the day and before I know it day is over and page is done. LOL I havent made a junk journal in forever! Fun stuff though! So free to just stick it in there kind of project. Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Love the layout! I said I would start a Fauxbo with a Composition notebook, but this Miquielrius is definitely thicker and better, and it resembles the Hobo Techo! And way less expensive!
I like your journal. Where did you find the stincil? I like it. I like the clear labels and making your own stickers. You have very good ideas. :) Thanks for sharing.
I'm seriously considering doing something very similar bc having a traditional planner isn't working for me, my life just isn't that busy but I need to be able to jot down appt & such also be creative so this is an option. Tfs, Kay
what kind of glue did you use: for the back of the front cover and for the pages on the left side of your faux bonichi? I was thinking of using YES paste (as I have a jar in my stash) but see others use a UHU glue stick. which one is better? thank you for your wonderful videos
I use whatever I have around as I am trying to use up stuff but now that I am pretty much out of the old my current glue is UHU glue sticks and a bit of scrappy tape on the inside edge towards the spine for a little extra stick while it dries. I LOVE the UHU glue sticks! You can get them on Amazon goo.gl/Eiok5Y I dont know where else you can get them though. Any glue or tape will work though it all just depends on what you have, or what you are sticking down. I use Glue n Seal to glue down my old stickers goo.gl/rTdO8C I used to be able to get this at Micheals but I havent seen it there for a while. I love that it dries matte and you cant even tell its there. Really though what ever sticks works!! I say use what you have till its gone =0] Have fun!! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I love this! ! Must give this a try. I'm the same way with stamps, I love to buy them, but don't use them. I love your idea about including various stamps. TFS
Not so scary that way. I see a blank page and my mind goes as blank as it is lol Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I thought it would take more time out of my day to keep it up and in actuality it made my day more productive lol at least when I am sitting here I am still working on something lol Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I was sitting here thinking "what coffee cup?" rofl! Its an icon from www.flaticon.com/search/coffee they have tons of them. Free to! Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Great idea! How did you print off of Pinterest? I love that you printed out your phrase of the day. That's Awesome!💕 I am going to copy your idea but as a prayer journal, trying to follow God's will for my life. Thank you so much.😙 TFS.😊 💕
You have to do a screen shot of the image you want off of pinterest then just print as any other photo on your computer. On a mac is Command, Shift, 4 to screen shot on windows its Alt PrtScn or Prtscn I think and it copies it to your clipboard then you just past it into whatever program you want to use to print. Hope that helps! =0]
Oh wow, I totally love this idea and I like even more the fact that I can use up my stuff. Feeling very inspired now! Thank you thank you thank you for letting us take a peek. Do you think this would work using a composition book?
I think you can use any book you want! Faux = freedom! Pick one you love and go for it! Let me know how it works out!! Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Looks like it's fun and working for you. The thin pages would be an immediate turn-off for me so I would have to use a different kind of journal or completely cover the back sides--LOL! I've never written on graph paper, either. That looks interesting to try. :)
Only reason I didnt cover the whole back of the page is I am trying to teach myself to "let it go" and thats as far as I could get with "letting it go" rofl! I love the little squares. Breaks up the big blank lines in my brain haha. Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
***** Obviously my OCD side wouldn't be able to let it go--LOL! But I understand. I am trying to learn to be looser with art--and it's hard for me to let it go with paint, too. ;)
Hi, stumbled on your channel whilst looking for Faux Bonchi ideas, I love how you have set yours up and I love that note book, I am in the UK and we don't have a Barnes & Noble store in order for me to get one, did you say you paid $10 for it? that is an excellent price, I have looked on Amazon and they are priced at £77.00 reduced from £85.00!! I could never afford that but I do love that book and have not seen anything like it here where I am, I can't even find a notebook with grid paper! :( so to say I am drooling over yours is an understatement lol :) ~~~ Susan
Susan Fraser I believe they are getting them at PaperChase in the UK. I dont know the price/name for them though but they are basically the exact same book. But the cool thing about a Faux Bonichi is it can be in any book you want it to be!! Have you tried looking for a Moleskine? I believe they can be found in the UK. Dont quote me though. If you are on facebook you could pop over to the All Things Faux Bonichi group and ask there. We have lots of people from the UK and well all over that are using all kinds of books. Good luck!! (hugs) Felicia =0]
***** Hi Felicia, thanks for your reply, oh, if it is the exact same book in Paperchase, I may check online for it, I know it can be any kind of note book but I like the idea of the gridded paper seems easier with grids? I don't use FB now, I only use YT & Twitter, subbed to your channel, hugs, Susan :)
Susan Fraser Check out this channel ua-cam.com/channels/1oo_Qlwc0Qp-QNmmvubJyA.html I think she is using the one from PaperChase thats just like the MiquelRius. Plus shes great to watch! =0]
I positively love this!! I do own an actual Hobonichi, but after seeing this I'm going to purchase this same notebook to use up all my stickers and washi as well! What an excellent idea! Question, how do you round the edges so perfectly to match the actual book!!? Are you hand cutting or using a corner rounder!? If it's a rounder, can you please let me know which one!! Thank you so much for your time and inspiration! (:
Hi ya!! I just use the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper goo.gl/pz7VOn (you can get it cheaper at like Micheals, Joann's or Hobby Lobby with a coupon!) Its just about exactly the same corner as the MiquelRuis journal. Close enough anyways lol. Its a blast! I have burned through more stuff in the last 2 months than I have in years!! Who knew cutting into supplies and actually using them instead of hording them would feel so good! HAHAHA Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
99 cents at hobby lobby! Cheaper if you use a coupon * *wink* * Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
***** Hi! Love your videos. Planning to set up mine now. I love the stencil and I looked at Hobby Lobby for a small one, but no luck. Which section did you find it in?
Stumbled across your channel looking for Fauxbonichi ideas as well.. Love how and why you've set yours up the way you have.. I bought a journal with grid paper in it from Walmart for about $8.. The paper is so much sturdier.. I haven't tried any water colors or paints or anything yet, but I love it so far... I love the idea of using it as a photo a day/journal kinda thing.. Trying to figure that out as well as I do Project Life..I also love the concept of the travelers notebook as I was going to use that for my journaling until I saw your video.. Your comments about owning everything and not knowing why you have it because you don't use it cracked me up.. I had to comment,lol.. I'm going to be checking out your channel while at work as I just subscribed.. I'm thinking of doing a video about my plans.. Not sure when..

I think you can use any book you want! Faux = freedom! Pick one you love and go for it! Let me know how it works out!! Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
Thank you for inspiring and motivating me!
You are so welcome! =)
I am trying to learn to be looser with art--and it's hard for me to let it go with paint, too. ;)
soulcomfort1 LMAO I just stick a sticker over the parts that bug me the most hahahaha
I just started a feuxbonichi and I really like yours. But I just started kinda trying it out
Love, Love, Love the video! What would you use for a search to find you verse divider pages on pinterest? Thanks, Susan

Thank you, going over now :)
brilliant !!
Love it!
Thank you so much for watching! Have a simply wonderful rest of your day! (big hugs) Felicia =0]
I really need a stencil!
