- It's been no secret that I've been paring my collection down over the last year and a half in order to focus on caring for the plants that bring me the most joy, and I was surprised to learn that my once bursting philodendron collection is now just a very manageable group of 20 🥹
In this video I show you the plants that made the many cuts, why I love them, and how I've been caring for them!

I absolutely loved this video!!!! I am so tired of everyone talking just about Anthuriums... I dont get the appeal... I love Philodendron, Monstera and Epipremnums way more. Also, thinking of getting Patriciae after this :)
My daughter found a Tortum at her Walmart! She’s away at college…I went by my Walmart today and it sucked 😂. I find Philodendrons to be easy going, not high maintenance, and my Anthuriums are a bit high maintenance. It took me a while to get my first Anthurium because quite honestly, they scared me. I am happy I took the plunge…I love them. I just recently killed my Alocasia Yucatán Princess…she was very finicky. I don’t think I’ll be replacing her, although she was big and beautiful. (and a spider mite magnet) Now you’ve got me thinking about a Patriciae. Thanks for the Philodendron video! Hope you feel better soon.
You sold me the P. Patriciae, now I want one 👍🏾😂
Big revelation Huxley has zoom meetings in the guest bedroom 😂
I just read through all the comments and more than half now want a patrciae. And I do too. I’m finding it fascinating.
Hey Claire, i also love my manjula pothos. Since i put it on a mospole the leaves are much bigger. So beautiful!!
I didnt think I would want to add any more Philodendron to my collection at this point, but that Patriciae though... I might try to get one 😍
thats so interesting what ppl find more difficult, for me its anthuriums and well many others hah I only have phiols and syngoniums and hoya and a few begonia now
Put that lupinum on a pole, it takes forever to get to the mature form so you’ll have a whole heap those velvety 2 toned leaves - it’s so worth 🥹
Not me just now finding out that the 69686 is called something new!!!! 😅 now I have to go do some research... 😵💫
The audible gasp I gasped as I saw your beautiful braid. Cries in thin short hair 😂
What a great video! You’re one of the few plant people I’ve heard using tree fiber as a substrate. I’d love to see a short video on why you moved towards it and what properties attracted you to this substrate. Does it retain moisture? Does it drain fast? Is it similar to using sphagnum moss or more like peat? I’d love to incorporate it more but can’t find any useful/practical application information.
I absolutely agree w all of your choices. I look at a few of them and "why". ❤🌱❤️🌱
James Armstrong is 100% the reason I got my bicolor! Mine does great in room conditions ( 30-40% humidity) and I've actually had success sizing it up with just a stake when I was lazy! I have mine kind of under and back from a soltec light❤
Wow it seems longer than that , it seems like I've been watching and loving your channel.Thank you Alice!!!!❤
Weird! I didn't know you grew philos! Nice to know as I love this genus.
Wow! Great collection!
Nice philo collection; thanks for sharing!
You've got the touch. I can't get my leaves to face forward in a room full of grow lights
Your plants are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing😊
i agreee, i limit my climbing plants cause i effing hate when they get weird and u gotta chop and the extra space and money and time
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful plants. Getting a patraciea now lol. Yours is stunning
It's interesting that some of the plants are bigger in the US. I wonder if the areas they are in just have higher consistent humidity? Florida stays humid and warm all through winter. In my state (I live closer to Canada, right under the Great Lakes) it gets really cold in the winter and thus dryer because we have to put the heat on. Humidity probably makes a big difference for some plants.
Beautiful Philodendron collection Alice 💕😀🇨🇦
Your plant room looks so nice!
Love this video. I have a tiny Patriciae and can not wait for it to grow. When you say it in soil does that mean your TTF soil mix?
Beautiful philos and great video!
I find philodendrons to be by far the most low maintenance plants available.
💚❤️💚❤️I believe that I will get the bicolor. Your collection is fabulous.
Sp silver is just such a gorgeous one! Doesn’t get as many spider mites as my dean McDowell, and mine crawls ❤ love you Alice pls drink some tea and rest up if you’re still feeling sick ❤❤ don’t make me call mom ok xoxoxox
Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one who cannot deal with gloriosum for the spider mites. And my alocasias are fine
Curious where you get the rectangular pots for creeping plants?
The Florida beauty is pretty 😍
Your lupinum is so cute. 💚
Give the Florida ghost a taller plank. It does deserve to grow.
It’s pretty the one that used to be called 69686 ( I think that’s what it used to be called)
I don’t think I’ve even heard of the philodendron gabby. What does it look like ?😊
Awe…the tortum I love it
I have all those on my wish list ❤
❤❤
Yay you still have the tortum❤❤❤❤
I remember being scared of philodendron for a while
Because I decided verrocosum and melanochrysum were like the best starting house plants 😂😂
It feels like a rite of passage for a plant parent to have been scarred by melano and/or verrucosum.😅. How did you decide on those? I know the petiole and the veining on the verrucosum got to me.
Because in mature form they are the most beautiful philodendron but to get them there is a pain in the...
Running out to buy a p. patriciae 😉
Omg my lupinum looks exactly the same 😂
I was caught off guard 😂. Alice, you are keeping us on our toes 😅
❤
🖤🌿
Wow almost unsubscribed for being an anthurium channel 🤣
Give you the Florida ghost a shower.
🤩🥰🤩🥰🤩🥰🤩

🫶 I had the same experience with bicolor, I let it trail down my pole 🫶 I also lost my first small tortum after import cold shock it dropped all leaves and died, then I got an established one and it's now the most easy philodendron for me😊
