You are hitting on a global need, in my opinion, it is the loss of our trusted elders for one reason or another , that guided us naturally in family or community settings. They helped regulate our thoughts and concerns, when we got upset or scared or even just curious. A Grandmother can be much more approachable and can help guide us when youre scared of an outcome with a doctor, if you have the luxury of even being able to see one. This is a needed step for mental health but also to bring that feeling of connection to the world and people in all facets of humanity ❤
Yeah, respect for elders definitely needs to come back. Could we stop with the OK boomer and instead recognize that this was a generation with it's own problems?
It gives me a small amount of hope when I see stories about people who genuinely just want to do good in their community. And what novel concept to employ grandmothers and use local tradition as a tool to helping people. What beautiful people this guy and his staff are.
This is just great. I also had a similar idea. Running a grandmother-backed kindergarten; giving the children grandmothers they may not have, and the grandmas grandchildren, they can have around them regularly. What about the grandpas tho?

This comes from a place of love, I would love to spread this message
As a grandmother, I can say that the therapeutic value would be mutually beneficial. Helping others, helps grandmothers find purpose.
Such a great idea and so, so needed. Thank you!

What a brilliant idea and response to tragedy Dr Chibanda. May Erica and others who succumbed to mental illness rest in peace.
I'm so impressed, this amazing, I miss my grandmother's so much, I'm sharing this to everyone. 😊
It’s also great to see a video where I can understand both languages being spoken without subtitles
This is a wonderful initiative. I hope the grandmothers receive the mental health support they need after supporting the community as well
Powerful! I love it. Being Zimbabwean myself, I can say without doubt that this works.

Great to see Zimbabwe doing some good for the world and the youth

This is a great story. It’s cool that you shared this one. I’d never have known about this
Love this ❤
The old ways are best
Young people need older folks. Older people need younger folks.
This is what the grandmother hypothesis is all about.
I wish i came up with this. Amazong job!
