Great video. I really appreciate the time you took to make it. Just one thing I found. I was doing mine on the ground with jackstands. Could not get clearance of the pan and the exhaust pipe. Solution that worked great for me: Undid the Transmission mount nuts and then used a bottle jack to lift the transmission near the oil plug. The transmission and shaft lifted about 2 inches real easy and thus no problems getting the pan in and out. If it were lifted like you did, you might use a screw jack to lift the tranny after loosening those bolts. Easy peasy.
The thing I did not do (because I'm an idiot) was put the Lucas Transmission treatment in the pan before putting it back on. I saw that in another video and thought that was cool. Meant to do it but heat exhaustion was setting in. Thanks for the video!

    Excellent!
f there is a UA-cam camera man award, this person should get it. Great views and angles. The mechanic is great as well. All in all a great instructional video especially the last bit of work needed with the screwdriver to pry that pan out. I would never attempt this myself but at least I now know what’s involved including removing that skid plate. I only have one question.
Is it necessary to remove the skid plate to access that plug bolt? I ask because I can do that. If there is like a hole that allows removal then I can easily do this myself. I could then at least drain my own transmission fluid and replace it.
Thanks again for going to all the trouble of making this video! 👍🏽

Thank you, from what I remember you would have to drop the skid plate to access the drain plug... been a little bit since I have been under there. But it is fairly simple. :) be safe! And again thank you and thank you for watching!

Hey GREAT VIDEO... I'm assuming that this yellow beauty is your H2... If I may ask what year is yours and what was the mileage on the odometer when you did this fluid change... Reason I ask is because I own and daily drive a 2005 HUMMER H2 and it has 196k on it... I've owned it for 5.5yrs and I'm the 3rd owner of it... I have never changed the fluids for any of the drive train being trans... transfer case... front and rear differentials... But I'm doing all of that now... Just wanted to get your 2 cents... Thx
