Most affectionate dog breed I’ve ever had was a blue nose pit Bull. We adopted her from a family friend who adopted her from a San Francisco shelter. She was seized from a house where she was used for breeding, dog fighting and suffered severe abuse and neglect. She was 30 pounds underweight, had horrible skin infections all over, and they had her chained up outside on a heavy chain attached to a collar when she was a puppy. They kept her like that for years but never changed her puppy collar so she outgrew it and it became so embedded into her neck that it cut her flesh all around to the bone. Her scar was still pink and very fresh by the time we adopted her. Her name was Ariel but soon she got the nickname “piggy or pig pig” because she would snort and snore like a pig. Unfortunately our family friend was a drunk and neglected her after she adopted her from the shelter. We were only supposed to foster her while she went to rehab and got sober but when it was time to give her back we said no way lol she bonded with our tiny shih Tzu named killer, our two kittens and my ferret. She didn’t have one aggressive bone in her body despite humans horrible torturing her, abusing her, breeding her. She didn’t even know how to play with toys. She was the best dog you guys. Too many bad owners give those dogs bad raps and the owners should be punished not the dogs, the government needs to start classifying pets as beings with freedoms and rights just like children so pet parents can claim them as dependents and more punishments will happen with animal abuse and neglect where the person gets a felony charge, basically be charged the same as if they hurt a child. Pets are not possessions to own! If the government passed a law considering animals dependents with limitations to how many per household so people don’t take advantage would help them out so much and us. They could qualify for health insurance under their human parents job or county, pharmaceutical companies would make meds more available, more jobs would be created and no animal would be turned away for medical care, most importantly psychos who start off killing and torturing animals would get a hefty felony charge and be put away before they moved onto humans, we could get registry’s where people who SA animals have to be on a list, people would think twice before hurting an animal knowing they could get a felony and be in prison for years. Hopefully one day. RIP Ariel, I miss you. 😢 she passed away from cancer a few years back and we just lost our shih Tzu killer but now they are in heaven together ❤

I have a fully grown German shepherd her name is Athena AKA Registered it’s a female we bought it at pet smart in Lancaster Ohio. She is a sweetheart and she know a couple tricks she can give paw roll over and she a very royal dog in general my favorite dog breed I always wanted a German shepherd.
My first french bulldog and my American Stafford. My Frenchie didn't want to go when we put him to sleep forever. Even he couldn't anymore. My vet told me that he never saw a dog doing that. Instead of 10 minutes it took 3 quarters of an hour to let him go. Even after giving him more and more and more. It broke my heart but at the same time it showed how much my beloved Frenchie loved me. He wasn't ready and sure i wasn't ready to let him go too. My staffie was also always on my side he is still alive but stayed when divorced with my ex because it was her dog. Now i own again a frenchie and he is also affectionate but a bit less as my first one and staffie.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are the number 1 by a mile, had a Labrador too, and they’re not even close to the Berner. Owning a Berner is like having a fluffy needy stalker that wants to be next to you or between your legs every moment it’s allowed to.
