If this was ever released on vinyl I would buy it in a heartbeat
Great call!! Absolutely!
ABSOLUTELY ❤
Frigate sounds fucking amazing
It really fuckin does! It sounds like the music for a actual Bond Film.
Came here for this
I like the dark, secretive and sometimes mysterious tones of this soundtrack.
The world of international espionage is mysterious, secretive, and dark.
Watch Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and you'll understand how boring espionage is.
@Cristiano dos Santos Gomes Good movies and games make it exciting.
A world of music on the internet to listen to and yet I must have listened to this about 500 times. Perfect for while at work!
For England James
I get the feeling...I'm nostalgic by nature so I'm always going back to the past. Boy, does it taste good. Playing "slap only" or whatever with older cousins or, in my case, neighbors
Same lol
absolutely, this and Zelda OOT i think are great osts to listen to at work 👌
Not all of it is worth listening to anyway though.
i still cannot unsee the hand/mouth
Haha I can, but it's hilarious to be reminded of it every so often! XD
murfad Same here. Ever since I was told about it however many years ago, I haven't been able to unsee it.
murfad Oh man i never noticed it before; shit bricks when I saw it.
murfad Bah I've never noticed that before even though I've owned the game for like 20 years. Was like, "What hand/mouth oh.........shit....."
murfad no why would you do this
ugh take be back to the 90's where my friends and i would have sleep overs after school on a friday night , staying up all night eating junk food and playing 007 split screen just dominating each other! man i miss those days!
Zakk 5150 The splitscreen days are unfortunately over because of money and greed or whatever. Now we are supposed to be fucking online people.
Zakk 5150 I want that back tho
@@pedrokoury1352 Who doesnt. I take care of a kid born 2005. Guess what? He LOVED goldeneye, he even said "this is the best game ever". So much for Cod and the online multiplayer :D Offline splitscreen will always be the best gaming experiences of my life. God i miss those days :D
Then there would be the typical guy like me who would destroy you all with remote mines.
Even though i had this , i feel sad because i never had the money to buy additional controllers for my friends. I think the best age to witness Goldeneye and other n64 multiplayers, would be in college. Smoking blunts and play with the friends
Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye. The musical genius that went into these games is just next level.
try with Jet Force Gemini Soundtrack.
final fantasy has entered the chat.
:D we grew up truly blessed..
Goldeneye is one of the best franchise video games ever made. Nothing captured making you feel like the actual character from the movies/books until that point, and nothing else did until the Batman Arkham games almost 20 years later.
Shame the entire OST is not available in this form, it would have been epic to hear the control room level music like this.
Yeah - control is epic!

now someone please put the uncompressed soundtrack into GoldenEye XBLA for the ultimate experience.
Saw you in the Graslu stream last night, crazy how the leak has got so many of us looking back at other missed opportunities.
An exciting time to be GE fans.
it truly is I'm so excited for what the modding community can do with GE XBLA, the future has never looked brighter for Bond fans 🙌🏻
Just turn off the game's music and play this in the background.
that would be sick
Sorry but no. The uncompressed soundtrack isnt the complete soundtrack
Grant Kirkhope made some amazing game soundtracks in his N64 years, Banjo Kazooie another honorable mention.
Goddamn I love the way the bass kicks in at 1:19, that lead up and follow through sounds amazing every time.
it's the best!

OMG
AT 8:35
I CAN FINALLY CAN RUN SIDEWAYS ON THE STREETS LOOKING DOWN IN A 45º ANGLE SO I CAN RUN FASTER AND CONSERVE MEMORY
Draxis32 what would that have to do with memory?
@@bobcoleman9045 looking at the floor means the N64 didn't have to render so many polygons, thus increasing the run speed and frame rate. fewer polygons = less memory used = faster speed runs.
@@russellg5022 To be more precise, the timer that tells you your mission time at the end of every mission runs in real-time, while the rest of the game runs in, well, the game's time. So the less lag you have, the closer the game time is to the actual time (ie, you save time by making the game lag less).
Looking down means there's less to render/calculate, so the game can run closer to real time.
In levels with many enemies (like train and silo) the game slows down due to the many enemies in the map. Speedrun strategies include killing as many enemies as possible in these levels to also make the game lag less.
Streets 1:12 btw.
Dennis19901 No, higher framerate just makes you run faster. Both the timer and the game are more or less synchronized with real time, but some oddities in the programming can throw it out of whack. However, if the game slows down or goes faster in real time, the in-game timer will follow suit. The only speedrunning advantages gained from looking at the floor are easier precise inputs and faster forward movement speed.
Also, that's the Cradle music at 8:35, not Streets.
@@Ohrami According to many speedrunners on the elite forums, you are incorrect. There's enough proof available to see that more lag = more in-game time loss.
Ok the frigate is really crisp. I've never heard anything this amazing in my whole life.
I still play. I got two carts. My prized possessions are my 64 and games. I love this game. This music awesome.
Ikr irreplaceable.
Jack up the speakers, skip to 04:58. AWWWW YEEEAH
So good
Hell yeah.
It sounds so fucking good! :D

lmaooo I'm literally organizing my life rn
The Goldeneye music unwittingly taught me how to drum. Dam, Surface 1, Silo, Frigate (i.e. "We Care A Lot"), Cradle in particular, they had simple yet catchy drum riffs that were a good starting point for a budding drummer at the time. Without knowing at the time, these riffs worked their way into my style.
perfect dark and command and conquer are the same way. all 3 of those games have some really straightforward but creative drum riffs
and yes I noticed the "we care a lot" beat as well! :D
Love the "We Care A Lot" bass line in "Frigate" hahahaha

With a hint of "A View To A Kill" thrown in
Tom Whaley excellent. now I'm listening to FNM

Only for Nintendo 64. Well, you got that right
The music the guns soundeffects the whole feel of goldeneye when you played it, it gave you a feeling unlike any other game. I dont think there will ever b a game as cool. I used to stand for hours in target or toys r us before i owned it just to play it lol
Wowwww bro I forgot all about that lmao
core 90's downtempo electronica, i want this soundtrack
Would love to hear the pause menu uncompressed.
And the elevator music
Someone did a pretty good remake of the watch music.
OH MY GOD!!!! NINTENDO 64!!!
Thank you so much, uploader, this is such a nostalgia trip.
The Severnaya Bunker actually made the hairs on my arm stand up.
20 years and it keeps on giving!
21 years next month!
8:32 - me sneaking out of my room to get snacks from the kitchen after midnight as a kid
Technically these tracks weren't "uncompressed". These were the songs the composer made before he got a N64 dev kit. He had to take the 7 tracks and redo them for the n64 and the the rest of the ost was made using the kit.
Nintendo Psycho Still sounds better than the original
No. These *are* uncompressed compared to the N64 versions, but the rest of what you said is correct.
You're fun at parties aren't you
After talking to Grant Kirkhope, he told me that his favorite of the tracks was this version of Bunker
Grant Kirkhope responded to someone in an email about these tracks saying that he had to resample the soundbytes and compress everything so it would fit within the tiny memory constraints of the N64 - so it actually is compressed, it's just that it's not just a matter of these tracks being uncompressed. These are arranged, pre-done tracks and not tracks arranged and played through the N64 hardware using compressed samples. A bit of both, really.
My ears are exploding with joy right now!
This makes for an excellent workout playlist. Plus it's extra motivating to pretend like you are speed running Goldeneye 64 while working out.
Imagine hearing this back in 1997 omg..

soundtrack of my childhood
Statue Park is just so perfect for the atmosphere.
You've gotta do my two faves, Facility and Caverns!
Whaaaat sounds like new music!! We really were missing out on those high frequencies!!! Fudge!
It's likely we will never hear the full uncompressed soundtrack:
"James Bond franchise holders Eon are too litigious and film composer Monty Norman is very protective of his things. A release of that soundtrack would prove to be quite a licensing quagmire."
Where is DAM!? That's one of my favorite tracks from the game!
DAMMIT!
The composer for the game only released so much uncompressed music. He has them up for free on his website which is where OP got them.
YOOOOO frigate with GOOD headphones hits different
Man... I know every single level. Best audio clip!
My mind was further blown away by the Cradle theme at 8:33 🔥
Still playing this game in 2018. But wheres the "Control" theme? That has a bomb beat. The whole game does
This is the uncompressed versions of the songs. Not every song on the soundtrack had uncompressed versions.
Holy damn I nearly died, goosebumps all over, what a masterpiece of an OST.
Antenna Cradle sounds so good.
I'm so baked right now, and sounds FUCKING AWESOME!
Deivid Linares Dude im baked too lol.
Also baked, can concur.
Baked. Concur.
Lmao
Totally sober at work and still can confirm
I was shaking with excitement the first time i played this game. My mom was worried it was too realistic
Very realistic.
Thank you for doing this. Hopefully if you get time you can do the rest of the tracks from this game, I personally was always fond of the Dam, Runway, Cavern, and Severnaya Bunker tracks . Again, great work and hope to see more videos soon.
Holy shit. These sound good enough to be used in the movie soundtrack.
That's because, contrary to the retards who uploaded this video, these are _NOT_ "uncompressed" versions of the Nintendo 64 soundtrack.
They are versions featured on Grant Kirkhope's own website, many years ago (probably around 2009).
Essentially, these are the _original_ versions, which he recorded on his mixer, to his DAT (digital audio tape), before the development kits arrived. This would have been around 1995, about 2 years before the game was finally released.
Therefore, they aren't "uncompressed", they're literally the "original versions".
To be honest, you'd need to be an idiot, to not notice that there are some _very_ obvious differences between these versions, and "uncompressed" versions of the Nintendo 64 versions.
Why would anybody dislike this? The has to be the greatest soundtrack for a game - 6:30 is my personal favourite
This isn't "uncompressed" in the sense that FLAC audio is. The source audio files that made up this video were 128kbps each, so highly compressed by modern standards. Also, that is not counting any additional compression that UA-cam added on upload.
The difference you hear is because the audio samples Grant Kirkhope used while he composed the music had to be highly compressed (far below 128kbps mp3 standards) to fit on the N64 cartridge. Therefore, this is how it would have sounded if it was released as a CD-based game with CD audio and then ripped to 128kbps mp3s.
We know.
@@SufferDYT My post was meant to be a reply to someone pointing out that UA-cam will have compressed it. They didn't know.
Wow! I love these, they sound so good. So many fond memories
Solía oír este video en 2016 en Río Bravo en las noches. Que tiempos.
merci bien pour cette plongée dans nos mémoires...
Nostalgia overload!
I was a little disappointed that you didn't have the Severnaya Dam music in there. That was the first song in the game and it gave me goosebumps. Hearing it in crystal clear audio would have been dreamy.
Haha, forgot how much the soundtrack of Perfect Dark sounded like this one!
Jivje0is0pr0 I didn't notice with the original versions but this uncompressed version sure does!
+Jivje0is0pr0 Grant Kirkhope strikes again!
They really need to remake this game.. imagine how many nintendo fans would run headfirst to a nintendo console.
What?
Lokim23 I think you meant 'remake', right? and they have already remade it [sort of] for the Wii. it was a pretty good fps but had none of the aura of the original
saulo macedo It ruined everything that made the first game magic by taking the original level layouts, and instead of replicating the original's run n gun-ness, turning every moment into a cutscene, setpiece or cod aim down sights crapshootout.
saulo macedo Yes remake :P
VyncentCarver Use your brain.... saulo did.. yours did apparently error 404.
Hell yes! childhood nostalgia on overdrive
wow these sound so good
im used to to the compressed music
Grant Kirkhope. Greatest Producer of our time in my mind. DJ Grant needs to go on tour! =3
Grant Kirkhope, Graeme Norgate, and Frank Klepacki are the greatest video game music producers of all time.
I'm just simply amazed the people who made the music for Goldeneye 64 were never asked to write a soundtrack for any of the recent Bond Films. And i'm sure Broccoli and Eon Productions know about this soundtrack for the game, it must just be their ignorance and snotty attitude towards "video-games" in general.
It's also because the N64 is sequencing the music in real time by the console, where as the produced version here is probably running on a workstation, essentially this is the music as it was produced, before they simplified it to be sequenced on the console using sample tables.
Now its youtube compressed
The memories. Thank you dude.
Definitely sounds like Time-Splitters and Perfect Dark a bit with those phaser effects
So someone explain to me this compression stuff. I've just listened to the original soundtrack, and this one sounds higher quality, more frequencies ect , wider audio. What was the original quality and what was the compression rate? Many thanks
RichyJam2011 VGM Online wrote an interesting piece of on this video that explains everything: www.vgmonline.net/the-truth-behind-goldeneye-007s-uncompressed-soundtrack/
Video Game Tracks thank you
RichyJam2011 to put it into Layman's terms. game cartridges didnt exactly have the luxury of memory. songs would have been compressed to the point its so low quality but recognizable. the cartridge's memory held 64 megabytes.
to make it even more simpler.
the game, the music, the coding, everything had to be under 64 megabytes in a Nintendo 64 cartridge (not bad for the first ever 64 bit video game system). nowadays, bluray discs can hold up to 128 gigabytes of memory. not to mention, digital distributions can be beyond unlimited.
RichyJam2011 Basically, shit had to be compressed back then because memory cards couldn't hold as much. Compressed as in filesize, therefore lower quality. The soundtrack possibly sounded like this when it was produced, but then the quality became much lower when it was compressed because this quality wouldn't fit into the old cards. This is the uncompressed audio, which was never heard back then but todays technology allows us to hear it as it was intended.
Adam Sjöberg lol, I didn't though the audio compression made such a different. This actually sounds much better than on the N64.
Happy memories!
The composer had made these versions before getting access to proper technology to convert the songs into the N64 versions, hence why not every song was uncompressed and why this is called "Music" and not "OST." Just to clear up confusion :)
Man... the frigate track on a good system is absolutely amazing.
I need this version of pause music and facilities
This actually feels like I'm listening to this for the first time !
It'd be awesome if we could have the entire soundtrack uncompressed, because these sound amazing.
Radical
The Cradle sounds soooo good
And we're back here again.
Once you see it, you will never unsee it.
Remaster is back Xbox Series,One and Nintendo Switch coming Soon !
You think it will look good on consoles ? I also heard that multiplayer is only available on switch only
its like im hearing these songs for the first time all over again......
Damn! Now I wanna play it again!
Antenna cradle sounds amazing uncompressed! it was epic already but damn!
The baseline on these are radical.
this is the soundtrack of one of the high points of gaming in my life. split screen with the boys, no oddjob allowed.
Back when RareWare was good
DKC, goldeneye, conker, banjo.
Deep down, they want to be back with Nintendo.
AUGS FOR PRESIDENT that would be Playtonic. Almost everyone that was important either left or switched to Playtonic. Cant wait for Nintendo to buy 51% of Playtonic which then makes Twoka-Laylee, then getting bought by Microsoft to make a new yoka-layle which becomes a Train Simulator..
But honestly, rare isnt the Same anymore. The best Thing to do for nintendo would buy rares ips and make sequels themselfs/Release remasters on eshop. Funny enough Microsoft would do Rare Replay on Switch. If Rare wants to
@@auggiebiermann RareWare was making their mark way before N64 -- Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country, DKC2, etc on the SNES.
sixstanger00 oh totally, DKC 2 is my favorite game ever made
The main thing I remember from all these tracks is the Triangle in every single song!
So this is what it would’ve been if the n64 was CD based 💿
Still the soundtrack we got was phenomenal for a 12-megabyte cartridge
Severnaya Bunker is Grant Kirkhope's own personal favourite from GoldenEye 007.
If there was ever a PS1 version of Goldeneye.
Awesome stuff, I'd love to hear how Silo sounds like this (my favourite track in the game).
N64 Cradle still takes the cake.
Don't you guys know how MIDI works? These tracks were never "Compressed" on the N64 Cartridge - The versions we heard on N64 were because the audio MIDI chip used in the N64 wasn't at a higher fidelity than the MIDI we can now create with better quality.
MIDI is used - and could be used - since the days of NES and beyond BECAUSE it isn't a compressed sound file such as an MP3 or a WAV - It is a set of timed instructions to different sound "instruments" that are played in sequence using a MIDI audio chip - which is how music could be heard on NES games where the entire cartridge was typically no bigger than 800Kb.
That's not true - the N64 didn't have dedicated sound hardware. The audio was always done in software and relied heavily on compression and/or the sound driver. MIDI was ONE possible sound driver, usually implemented by Factor 5.
Someone should make a UA-cam video of Goldeneye gameplay with these tracks playing as the music for each respective mission.
