- Full album remake of the GoldenEye N64 OST
While producing this, I wanted to replicate a modern sound of the '97 version and add electric guitars where needed and in place of certain synths you hear in the original soundtrack.
To all fans of a true classic, enjoy! DOWNLOAD: files.fm/u/txk...

this! facility and egyptian will live forever in my brain.
Same goes for the pause menu for me any both the elevator themes. Train and definitely facility!!

This is an absolute Fact🌟

Perfect movie-based games don't exi-
Perfect is the only word for this game.
Mostly true. They're very few and far between but Spider-Man 2, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Peter Jackson's King Kong, The Mummy Demastered, Cars: The Game, The Warriors, The Thing, Alien: Isolation (technically), Toy Story 2 all come to mind.
Goldeneye was excellent but I think Perfect Dark was truly, well, Perfect, at least as far as early console FPSes go. It seemed almost like they wanted to make a sequel to Goldeneye, but couldn't get the licensing for it.
If anyone could make a 'perfect' FPS for N64, it was Rare.
@@nathanfoss4947 Indeed Rare and Acclaim is the best partners Nintendo ever had, do you know that the immensly respected Sigeru Miyamoto (mario) have put his touch in Golden eyes he put his touch and gave ideas in most great N64 games even up to the design of the N64 controller, damn that my fav controller I even got an Usb version for my pc ;P
This is how my brain REMEMBERS the soundtrack sounding, even though I know the n64 isn't capable of being so layered.
It can (downmix to 2 pcm channels, just like midway games like mace, hangtime and rampage did). But they didn't did it because N64 had rom space problems day 1.
The hardware was perfectly capable of near CD quality audio. Just limited space on cartridges made it very uncommon.
@@KeyToTimemerci monsieur, N64 was a beast but cartdrige was not free nor the storage space.
I Never seen a loading screen as kid, and thanks GOD for it
@@KeyToTime Thank you I was gonna say. But talking bout complexity, has he even heard the soundtrack of the Banjo series!? It changes based on your location realtime and seamlessly. If that ain't complexity I don't know what is.

@@tobyuviovo9145 isn't there battle music while fighting jaws in Egyptian level?
It sounds great to Me! But there's some other who claims to be a remastered version of It! Don't know it sounds like with a wider range!
31:30 Pause Menu hits real smooth. ❤
hanging out with buddies as young kids when we'd stop playing to eat some pizza or something this was always on in the background, man we didn't know how good we had it.
Thanks everyone for such positive feedback, I have moved out of the country and haven't been able to get back to all the questions in the comments section. Thanks again!
Please remake Perfect Dark 64 ost ~
Absolutely awesome work in the remake! May I ask how much time you invested in this project?
Big shoutout to the original composers Graeme Norgate, Grant Kirkhope, Robin Beanland
!
I would like to ask you:
1. What DAW you used for this
2. Most importantly: what are YOUR inspirations (aside from the game's composers)
3. What are your best memories regarding this game? (Have you ever played it?)
And finally: a big thanks for all of the research and the authenticity put into it. As it shows, you have put a lot of effort into making it sound as similar as possible to N64's original game, albeit still adding your own artistic inputs (like harmonies and gameplay sounds AND probably researching the best plugins/instruments), which I greatly admire. I really look up to your work!
Tydus Tarien I back that extremely up, so up that it reaches the ever-up lands in heaven. Yes please.
Uwe Winkler I feel better now that I expose my ignorance regarding the composers of this ethereal piece of work. I had always regarded Grant Kirkhope as the only composer of this experience because I read one or two comments (ln UA-cam in general) mention only his name
The transition from the title to the menu theme at 1:26 is beautifully done, chills.
Cradle/Egyptian themes too... goosebumps!
1997 all over again
Easily the best transition of all time of all videogame remixes.
Seamless transition. Epic
Listening this in infinity loop 😅
That transition is top tie for sure
I love how it feels so close to the original. It really feels like a remaster instead of a remix, which a lot of these sort of things end up being.
I agree but you can still notice some minor details that Brandon Wiebe seems to have added to each song or at least most of them - little things or effects such as gameplay sounds or whatever. He chose to add in a little bit of originality :)
Gazelle I agree! Still, in some cases the creative professional (musician or designer, in general) has to make a decision and decide whether to make something entirely new, semi-new, as close as possible to the original, semi-original or "entirely" original.
There are different intentions, if you get what I mean.
Right? Even though I do like the original remakes of the Goldeneye music, I've always wanted to hear the music in the same "spirit" I guess you could call it, just with better instruments and mixing. This is exactly what I was looking for, I think it's awesome! To hear this in the upcoming Goldeneye remake would be amazing.
The mix is a tad too reverb heavy for my tastes compared to the original, maybe its just my headphones though, sounds fantastic otherwise
I dunno, the originals are pretty boss in my view, especially observed with decent headphones
who remember when they rented the game in the weekend and you always get stuck in the Surface (night) level lol
or people never got passed the statue level back then!
Yeah Statue was a common one to get stuck at! Or freaking Control
Yeah I was unfortunate enough to get stuck on Statue and at the time, I never seen the movie. The game came first so I watched the movie to figure this out. No kidding.
I would ask my dad to rent it from various places and complete the game when I got home from school because I liked to flex on people anonymously.
i played on an OLD tv where it was wayyy too dark :(
got stuck there until i got a new tv
@@shawnthornton7971 Back in the day i had to learn to get used to holding a n64 controller correctly lmao!
UA-cam. This is the recommendations I want. *You Did Good, UA-cam*
Amen
Same. I came here from the uncompressed Grant Kirkhope tracks.
I play this behind everybond game I play
At this moment in time this video has exactly 1000 times as many likes as dislikes - 2.6K likes and 26 dislikes. This soundtrack remake is incredible.
Lincoln Six Echo I hope I’m not the only one who got that pun
Seeing someone who understands why classics are iconic while restoring them faithfully so they can be enjoyed again has made my day a little better
Its been 23 years and this game still holds up as one of the best shooters of its time.
Amazing work! Perfect mix of adding your own style while still sticking true to the original. Thank you for this
MadSeason! I'd say I'm suprised to see you here, but I'm not
true actual games sound worse when they try the same thing just look at some of the ff7 fan remake music on one of my lists compared to the official ones
this was the last place i thought i'd see you
Agreed! It’s like the OST ripped directly from the game but with better quality, so it sounds exactly like I remember it
He puts a lot of Goldeneye tracks in his videos. Love it. Good to see ya, Mad.
You deserve the entire universe. Congratulations!

The added laugh to the Egyptian theme was a stroke of genius!
I found myself feeling the same exact way. I was like, I have no idea why he added this but it's incredible lol.
I always found that laugh to be so funny whenever i played golden eye lol
The intro was refreshing too
As a fellow music producer & engineer, this is a great work of art. This is exactly how I would imagine a remaster or remake to sound. I can tell you put a ton of work into this ost remake. The eq’s are right on and you managed to pick the perfect sounds in your mixes. This is awesome, great job and thank you for Sharing. 👍
That compliment could have been much less self-indulgent.
@@CraigStCyrPlusyeah especially since it’s pretty obvious the dude just dropped the midi files into logic and changed the VST instruments to more modern sounds.

Dude you're a genius.
This game took up countless UNWASTED hours of my childhood. I was soooo good at this damn game that my school mates lent me their cartridges so I could get them all the cheats!

Haha i love how he added those little details in there, like gunfire and alarm siren in some tracks :D So much effort put into this, much appreciated 👍
The transition from the title screen to the menu screen is so good
I don't usually like the silo soundtrack.
But when I do, it's produced by Brandon Wiebe.
Haha, Thanks @0nionjack !
That menu screen music gets me every time
The elevator music is the best lol
It's excellent. I love the military march vibe it has.

Man this really captures the spirit of Goldeneye
The name's Algia. Nost Algia.
This is just…. No words of how great and nostalgic this is. I’ll be 28 this year, and this soundtrack was my childhood, and for someone to do this has balls. But for them to NAIL it, is just fucking genius. I’ve listened to this all 3 times now and still can’t get enough of it. Much love and great job, Brandon!
Dude, Brandon,
I was born and raised on the N64 sticks. I know this ost by heart and work out listening to it all the time. The rendition you’ve done here is the best I’ve heard.
Haha it’s actually a great work out mix. Just did that myself
@@theretroreview8178 even the pause menu, Surface 1, Bunker 1, Archives, Statue Park, and Archives?
...I guess I could see it.
You forgot Silo, best rendition I've heard yet 🤘😎🤘
This was how it was originally intended! It has vibes of a remaster versus a remix. Some of the sound FX and transitions are just awesome. The bass sounds so good versus the original mono I had on my TV. 17:23 sounds so good with these speakers!
Classical music never dies.
Silo is absolutely incredible.
This is so perfect. A modernized version of the soundtrack that still keeps the feel of the original. Got so many chills from nostalgia

This is virtually the official remaster of the Golden Eye OST, AMAZING! Thank you for this!
Now if only RARE would make an HD remake of the classic for the Nintendo switch.
Fillet2K a version was planned and ready to go for the Xbox 360 that would work similar to the Halo CE anniversary game where you could change graphics on the fly between new and old as well as 60 FPS but due to licensing it was never released but footage exists of the game playing properly. Perfect Dark, it’s relative game was however re released in Rare Replay on the Xbox One as a Rare is a company owned by Microsoft. I do believe it released on the Xbox live arcade for the 360 later in life as well as the 360 having its own Perfect Dark game, PD Zero I think it’s called.
Yea, the PD remake looks quite nice. I've always enjoyed that one. PD zero I played a little bit of it. I haven't finished it yet.
Would rather they retire the shit switch and the gimmicky bullshit motion controlling BS and just make a regular fucking console. Everything after the gamecube has been fucking atrocious.
I would buy a switch if that happened
They work for Microsoft now not Nintendo, if it ever happened would be on an Xbox console.
This needs to be put in goldeneye source
Edit: after three years, I'm finally figuring out how to do it. And oml the music goes so well with it
I just discovered this, it's pure gold! I sent it to Grant Kirkhope through Twitter and he seemed to like it!
So cool
I thought Graeme Norgate did the music? Should send it to him instead.
F0nkyNinja they did it together
@@F0nkyNinja what? They all worked on it. Why "instead"? Why not as well??
@@ImpactGameStation I had the notion it was mainly Graeme with some help from Beanland and Kirkhope.

Oddjob was always off-limits in our multiplayer games XD
24:07 and 56:21 are absolutely incredible.
I mean, the entire remaster is amazing, but those two tracks were done so well. Thank you guys for putting time into remastering an already impeccable soundtrack.
Loren Nolen thank you! I've credited the original producers of the '97 ost in the description. This album remake is my solo project creation. Thanks for the positive feedback, glad you enjoyed it!
yea, the aztec rework is amazing
56.21 is such an amazing track.
getting chills from 24:07
20:38 sounds like the perfect track for Moonraker.
Such an excellent example of staying true to the original but giving it a perfect portion of a modern touch. Basically a remaster and an upgrade. You honestly could essentially copy and paste the original game with modern graphics, slap this soundtrack on it, and you’d be all set.
I cannot describe how INCREDIBLE this is. I swear, it's impossible.
This is excellent. I've always loved the groove of Caverns.
Damn at first I was sceptic because I mostly hate if people change things that are already perfect but you did a great job!
Excellent, thanks for the comment, Glad you enjoyed!
Silo and Frigate sound amazing!!! Man, listening to this made me feel as if I entered a time machine back to my childhood. Thanks a lot for making this incredible remastered album!
Imagine a full blown remaster for the Nintendo Switch with this updated soundtrack.
My body is NOT ready.
@The One Who Laughs there's already been one, (on xbox? I think) Im not sure how well received it was. This soundtrack does it for me though as far as reflecting the original.

Reading these comments, I’m shocked that everybody else overlooked Control ost. This modernized version of the original (which is already a stand-alone 90s BOP) is Divine. I felt like I was back home in summer 1998 watching my older brother do a mission on 00 difficulty. Nice!
Double-O-Funk
The importance of a good music score can't be understated, both in movies and in games. Great work redoing this masterpiece

Silo is a fucking bop! This is the official soundtrack of the game for me now.
Nice work, man!
i just finished playing the game for the first time and looked up remixes/remakes out of curiosity, really really glad i did
Thanks, glad you liked it. This was a really fun soundtrack to rebuild /remake!
I Like The Reximes More Thank The Originals Sometimes
Congratulations for beating it.
Holy crap!! This is unreal!!! The whole game?!?! Silo and Frigate were always my favorite ... and you made them TASTY 😋 ... and I would pause game and just leave it on all day! 🤘😎
This is amazing. It improves on the sound without losing any of its distinctive style. Just perfect. ❤️

Me too. I love Goldeneye!

Holy shit this is amazing!! Thank you for this
Just found this and it's absolutely epic, ace job
14:43, always so good. As I've gotten older I think my favorite track is now Surface. Both are great, but the morning track is ahead.
006 Alec Trevelyan: "For England, James?"
007 James Bond: "No... For me."
I do full replica covers like this, to this calibre admittedly. I was going to do Goldeneye next...then I heard this and thought.."nah, this is epic enough".
Cradle has always been and always will be my favorite song from this game next to facility and surface, and you did a great job recreating all of them
I always thought Frigate and Streets were amazing, along with Aztec. However, I like them all.
Pretty crazy how a 007 game from the 90s has such a BANGIN' sound track.
Proper quality remake, excellent work. Love the snippets of in game sound effects.
This is an ambitious, extremely well-crafted masterpiece. As someone raised on GoldenEye, I know most of the soundtrack by heart, and you've made it 100x better. Thank you for taking the time to make this :)
This captures all the music perfectly, and even manages to sound better. The production and use of a real guitar is executed so well. And the tracks flow together at points, making it easy to listen to. The sound effects such as the siren from chemical plant and such really help bring it to another level in a nostalgic sense. Well done.
This is practically a super-saiyan version of the game soundtrack with added steriods! Epic-ness written all over it! Congratulations, acheivement unlocked!
genuine masterpieces right here my friend, they actually sound like theyd come from the actual remake itself! amazing work man, pat yourself on the back you certainly earned it for all this art.
Pause menu for the win! Sleek..seductive and unmistakable 007.
14:42 -15:00 forgot how amazing this sounds!

Mad respect - this is a masterpiece remix, and has become a new staple in my work/study playlist. Thank you. If you did Perfect Dark too, I would dedicate the rest of my life to getting a statue of your fine self built.

Such a banging soundtrack, Kirkhope, Norgate & Beanland truly nailed it!
also i agree with everyone. PERFECT DARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would go in many playlists I'm sure :-)
A legendary soundtrack for a legendary stretched mouth.
Once you see it
You're doing the lords work here sir
But what IS that sample you used of that iconic deep metal impact sounding thing that is all over this sound track and the original because that sound alone brings me tears of nostalgia
Also I always loved the Immigrant Song drum groove in Silo and great use of the vocoder!!!
Love seeing all the OG’s come and listen to these tracks. What an album and what a game.
yeah I know I'm old, but this game is going down in the hall of fame. It wasn't only SO great for its time; it legitimately still holds up WELL; better than most first person shooters on newer consoles, I would argue. This game is an absolute masterpiece.
It's often rare (heh) to see a remix that perfectly captures the original feeling of the source material, yet here you are rocking it like a natural. Good work, my dude!
I love how Silo has a Daft Punk vibe.
I really cannot emphasize how much I love this video, friend. The sound is so clean, the updated instruments work beautifully, and it's just the perfect blend of faithful and something new. This has been my go-to video while in quarantine for months now, and I have to thank you for creating this.
if a GoldenEye 007 remaster is ever released, this could be the alternate set of tracks, this is amazing!
Amazing. Thank you for making this. One of the most underrated videos on UA-cam, how does this not have millions of views? You deserve a grammy
Yup, this takes me back to 1997 specially Controls, Caves and Mission Menú.
OMFG I literally had goosebumps when that first drop happens on Bunker#1
If Bond was in Smash ultimate these would be perfect remixes to have.
Man, adding in those low guitar chuggs in Dam makes it SOOO heavy and determined! Excellent.
Amazing work, these songs are attached to my mind forever, they are indeed good OST tracks by any criteria in the gaming world.
Phenomenal job man, nailed.
"Silo" sounds reminiscent of the Spiderman Animated series theme song, in other words, awesome.
Cradle is delicious, brilliant work Wiebe!
Oh hell YES! THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS WONDERFUL PROJECT!!!
Goldeneye: the video game of my teenage years. Long may it live!
Microsoft, Rare and Nintendo have to put this soundtrack on a remastered version of the game. This is perfect!
I'm amazed how closely you managed to recreate some of the sounds like the creepy male choir in the title screen song and the sound what the I like to call "hitting a frying pan in an echo chamber". Also, the drums are slamming just like in the original. Great work!
@K-Tech I personaly believe that this sfx is half of game's success. It's a unknown strange sound with reverb that fits perfectly in the game's (usually underground) stages and the Bond atmosphere / cold war / incomplete e - f# - g - f# loop. Also it repeats in a lot of tracks, a think i like in music (motif) and becomes recognizable.
@K-Tech I knew that video but thanks! Also, tell me a music sample of a video game MUSIC track that remain in history and analyzed 20 years later, none! I put the word music in caps because a youtube smart-ass user will tell me about a sample of player sfx or something.
@K-Tech It's not childhood, it's art. Pitty today's artists can't create art anymore.
Statue is phenominal and no one is talking about it. Perfect espionage theme.
