Hi Keith.Thanks for unboxing this wonderful edition of this Classic Movie.Poltergeist is one of my all time favourite horror movies.Its strange you mention about the delays in shipping releases,there must be a reason for this.They should answer emails but it seems customer service isn't what it was these days,but I'm sure it will sort it self out.I don't mind at all if reviews are done late on releases,it's great to see them anyway.
Hey Brian. Yes it's very very strange what's going on at the moment when it comes to my releases. I don't know what it is but I can't get any of them dispatched and like I said in the video I'm trying to find out but no one's talking to me. I do like to be more up-to-date when it comes to my releases but I have to admit it's very refreshing to hear you saying that you don't mind waiting for my reviews. Actually that really means a lot to me and thank you so much for that my friend.

Warner Brothers have done another fantastic job on this release and even though I'm not the biggest fan of the steelbook it still is a beautiful release and thank you so much for checking it out my friend
Mine should be delivered this week from Amazon Italy. Fingers crossed it doesn't come crushed. My Event Horizon collectors edition was crushed but the steelbook was fine
I will definitely cross my fingers for you my friend and I'm sure everything will be fine. Unfortunately mine had minor damage to the spine but I'm ok with it. Nothing worse when you get mucked about by retailers, who are supposed to be reliable! Hey John. I actually ended up cancelling that order from zavvi and I found the exact same release on Amazon France for €13 cheaper. So Zavvi can stick their release right up their ass. It's a beautiful edition and the only thing that's holding it back slightly is the Steelbook. Honestly I think the Blu-ray is almost near perfect and that's a testament to how beautiful that Blu-ray is. The 4K does look better but not a giant leap ahead of the Blu-ray and sometimes that's enough. Honestly the 4K is breathtaking and I hope you pick it up someday John. Thanks for checking it out

Hey Carl. I absolutely agree with you should have stuck to the original artwork that we all know and love. It's the only thing that's holding Warner Brothers back from True premium editions is there steelbooks. Hopefully someday they will improve on them. This is a really nice boxset Keith, I watched it last week and I was hoping it would be the full version, unfortunately it's not, you just can't seem to get it anymore. The last time I saw the uncut version was on TCM about 20years ago. Still it's a great movie and to see it in 4K is amazing, they have done a great job.
Hey Gary. Honestly I didn't even realise that this movie was actually cut. I'm very intrigued and I must check up on UA-cam and see what the differences are. Warner Brothers have done a beautiful job on this release and even though I wasn't too thrilled about the Steelbook I'm still very happy and satisfied with this set. Great vid buddy. Shame about the postponed/cancelled releases. Hope you get at least some of them soon. I got this set. Absolutely love the packaging ( maybe except for steelbook art ) not tried the disc out yet. Went to see it in the cinema a couple of weeks ago in 4DX. What a treat. It was incredible, as the Poltergeist moved around the house you could feel a rush of wind across the cinema, the seats rocked to match the carnage on screen , you could feel the rain during the scenes outside during the climax and even smell the flowers as the were walking through the field as they were heading to the graveyard. The movie still holds up ( except for a few 80s fx ) always loved this movie but forgot how good it was. Masterpiece
Hey Michael. Hopefully I will hear something soon on my other releases. I think I might have to say goodbye to lost boys unfortunately. I've heard there's a lot of cancellations when it comes to that released going around. I don't think there's too many people thrilled about the Steelbook on this poltergeist release but other than that I'm still very happy to have it. The main box to it I think is the setting point to me. I would love to go to a viewing like that but unfortunately we don't have anything like that over here. Well I don't think we do. I'm sure I would have seen it by now. I absolutely agree with you Michael the movie itself is a masterpiece and it holds up so well today and great to see it looking as beautiful as it does on this release. I know you're going to be impressed when you do get around to watching it
@@millerman9991 Yeah look forward to watching it in 4k. I didn't go for the list boys set I had to chose that or poltergeist and I love lost boys but poltergeist was the winner hands down. Fright night 1985 is my fave vampire more anyway :)
I've pre-ordered the Fright Night Steelbook from amazon.com and hopefully I will have it Midway through October. Definitely up there as one of my favourite vampire movies. Either that or Vamp

Vamp is such a fantastic movie and it's highly underrated. You can clearly see it heavily influenced From Dusk till Dawn. Definitely worth a revisit Michael
Yeah, there's a few scenes missing, the one I remember is how Steve Freeling met the paranormal team for the first time. what we get is them sitting around the table in the libary talking. just before that the scene that is missing is how Steve met them. He over hears them discussing paranormal activity in the next isle, he moves some books off the shelf to see through to the next isle and tells them about what happened to Carol Anne, then it cuts to the scene which is what we get, where they are sitting around the table in the libary.
Wow now you really have me intrigued. Honestly that does not ring a bell with me and I'm going to go over to UA-cam right now and see if I can find it. Now that I think of it I must check some.of.my releases to see if there's any deleted scenes on the features. That really is a first for me Gary and again thanks for letting me know

Hey Keith I did love the outer hardbox but also wasn't too gone on the steelbook myself. I'm gutted to hear about your orders having various issues, especially on Crawl and lost boys which both seem very unlucky, Zavvi came through for me this month with packaging and time of receiving three big editions of Lost Boys, poltergeist and Nobody, so I'm disappointed with what happened with crawl. I do hope you get lost boys cause its looks great and such a classic. We're both in the rambo camp so we'll see with that. I don't like that you got a knick on that case, Amazon probably at it again with their A3 packaging? Italy packaging might be different. Damn that was an impressive blu ray transfer too.
Hey Steve. Yes it was a terribly frustrating month but things are actually starting to look a bit better now. I'm happy to report my Lost Boys edition which I thought I wasn't going to get has now been dispatched and I'm hoping to have it on Monday. I cancelled crawl from zavvi and I found the exact same edition on Amazon France and it was €12 cheaper. So that work out well for me. Fingers crossed on the Lost Boys Edition not getting any damage. It's always frustrating when releases get pushed back, delayed for various reasons and worst of all when shipments get lost. It's been a slow month here as well, can't even remember what I have coming in next or even when. But that Poltergeist set by Warner looks really good, and the picture looks quite fantastic judging from your video. Again a movie I need to revisit. Nice pickup Keith.

Keith, you are hitting it out of the park with your videos! It really sucks that you've had trouble getting certain releases in a timely manner too. I always complain when I have to wait 4 or 5 days for my stuff. I guess I forget how lucky I have it over here in the USA. I have a buddy in Australia who has to wait MONTHS for his stuff sometimes! I just finally ordered Poltergeist 4k myself. Of course, no Dolby Atmos is a bummer. And the features are pretty weak as well. I wish we got a Scream Factory special edition of it! Hey Steve. Delays always happened but they just seem to happen way too often this month and normally I'm very patient but when it's happening to Nearly Everything it does get very frustrating. The good news is I mentioned in that video that my Lost Boys edition could be gone and thankfully I got an email last night saying it was dispatched. Absolutely delighted over that and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Yes the lack of Dolby Atmos was very disappointing But the DTS 5.1 audio still sounds fantastic in this release and I know you're going to love it when you see it on 4k. Hey Roy. That did cross my mind and there could be an element of truth behind that. Maybe my TV is massively upscaling the Blu-ray but having said that I don't think it would produce HDR colours the way the 4K would or maybe it does. I honestly don't know. I've also done another video for John Carpenter's they live and I've also done comparisons in that one as well with the new TV. There seem to be a bit more to the comparisons on that one than this. But having said that it's not as big of a difference as you would have seen a couple of weeks ago when I was using the LG TV.

It's a shame you can't remove them. On certain releases you can but for the bulk of what gets released over hear they're printed on. To be completely honest they don't really bother me but I get why it would bother people. They can be a bit of an eyesore. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out

It looks like the Australian quad poster with the M for Mature audiences, and the US quad on the backside of the poster. Shame Warner's didn't consider putting the UK quad in there for UK collector's. I'm not keen on The steelbook personally. Way too modernistic for a film that's set in the early 1980's. Sucks also that Warner's will never release the full version of the film, BUT, on a positive note, from what I've seen of the transfer, it looks the best it's been since its full release in the cinemas. How much input Spielberg had on the transfer for this release is unknown. Maybe Spielberg didn't have any input....If the steelbook was better, I'd buy it. Cheers!
That probably explains why I've never seen that poster before. The Steelbook itself I was completely underwhelmed by myself but I knew that going into buying this. I would still rather have the Steelbook than the amaray edition. Honestly I never actually knew there was a full version to this movie and chances are I probably have seen it but I've completely blanked it from my mind. The 4K transfer looks absolutely extraordinary but like I said in the video so does the Blu-ray and I felt it was only right to praise the Blu-ray as much as the 4k. The UK version was sold out quickly cause it has Spanish LA, other countries versions only has Spanish EU .

I am almost certain my version is an Italian release as well and I'm trying to think if there's any difference at all with it to warrant buying the UK release. I actually cannot remember if this release is covered in Italian writing or not

Nice unboxing Keith. I skipped this edition because I don't like the steelbook front artwork at all. I heard that the Blu-ray transfer is a new one and sourced from the 4K transfer? Yes I was a little underwhelmed by the Steelbook myself but I would rather have the Steelbook edition than the regular amarea case. Honestly I thought they should have used the main artwork for the Steelbook and it's the only thing that's holding Warner Brothers back when it comes to these releases. Hopefully they will improve on the Steelbooks in the future. I think you're correct as far as I know the Blu-ray is sourced from a 4K transfer and it's probably why it looks as good as it does. @@millerman9991 In Germany there's still no 4K Amaray announced for Poltergeist. The oddest thing today was, that E.T. The Extra Terrestrial is now exclusive in either of the upcoming anniversary editions to Amazon Germany. All the other shops here that have the steelbooks up for pre order won't be delivered UPHE says with apologies. 🙈😂 It's so ridiculous. I've pre ordered my copy from Amazon Italy anyways. Like you know they're a lot cheaper.
That is the oddest thing I've ever heard of. How did Germany get exclusive rights to the anniversary edition of ET I will never fully understand. I'm almost certain I have it pre-ordered from Italy myself. That is a strange one

Hey Keith my friend, you sure do have some big ones!! 🤣🤣🤣 Movie box sets, what else would I suggest 🤣🤣🤣 This set is amazing but this is the one instance that the front artwork of the box should have also been the artwork on the steelbook. I thought the steelbook was of a TV set too.
All companies are judged on their products and customer service. Zavvi sound like a company that doesn't give a damn about its customers and that is unforgivable. I would NOT use a company that refused to answer queries/questions.

But in all truthfulness you are absolutely spot-on when it comes to the Steelbook. That's exactly how the Steelbook should have looked with a nice high gloss finish as well. It's the only thing that's holding Warner Brothers back when it comes to these releases.
Honestly I keep telling myself to stop dealing with zavvi. But they end up bringing some beautiful releases out and I cannot help myself sometimes. Amazon France are actually selling them for around €40 if you're interested. They seem to be selling very quickly so I would definitely look into that. Hopefully you will get one in time for Halloween. Probably my favourite time of year
Annoyingly I did the same thing with Amazon Italy. Both my orders are still sitting there but just no sign of them being despatched. So I imagine it's only a matter of time before I get an email saying mine is cancelled as well. The only problem I have with cinemuseum is chances are it will be this time next year by the time it gets released. It takes them way too long. It does look like a beautiful release though

@@millerman9991 Yes, unfortunately there are times when you seemingly have no choice but to do business with them. I pre-ordered the Halloween 1-5 4K discs on day 1 (which was sometime in August of last year if I remember correctly) on their website and I didn't receive Part 2 until January this year. Absolute shambles of a company lol.

It's shocking to be completely honest. It's us collectors that keep this company in business and you think they would show a little bit of respect to their customers.
