Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing all the comments about the zine situation and I just want to clarify that I am in no way connected to it. I had no idea about the entire thing until after I started seeing comments on this video and did my research. I’m sorry for those of you affected by it, and I hope there’s a good reason for it. I just wanted to make it clear I wouldn’t have posted the video if I knew. I posted it because it was sitting on my hard drive finished and I put a lot of time and effort into making it so I wanted to share. It was filmed back in November/December of last year and I held off on posting it because I never got the scans and I just ended up focusing on other videos. I have no answers/updates on the situation, so unfortunately I’m not the person to give you any clarity on that end of things.
@@MythDealerDude the video is made and took a lot of work. Ridiculous to expect him to take it down just to virtue signal over something he wasn’t even involved with, grow up
I’m happy my zine came after a long while, but I’m just more excited to see more work from Trevor in the future. It’s kind of the main reason why I bought the book in the first place, to just support one of the dopest NY photographers out there
Trevor is an amazing photographer I thinks that’s why we all gravitated to his work. I’m not gonna lie the zine situation was just as annoying and frustrating for me as it was for anybody else that got it. I followed the usual protocol of leaving comments on his posts about where the zine was with no respond or update which in my opinion was the worst part of it all the lack of communication. Eventually I did get my zine and I think everyone who purchased one did as well or is still receiving it. Now that I look back at that time the man was going through a lot not only with his mother but also a living situation and I believe looking for work as well. Once I opened the zine it reminded me why I bought it in the first place! The pictures Trevor takes are one of a kind but in a way also feels like you’re looking back in time to some old school style New York street photography. I think he learned from his mistake on communicating to his audience but so did I learn how to be more patient and also understand that he’s as human as we are and we make mistakes and we go through hard times just like everyone else. I’m happy with my zine and have nothing against him.
love seeing the process. for everyone complaining about zines.. I got mine in july of this year (took 10/11 months to ship) and personally it was more about supporting an artist that I fucked with rather than having a physical product to show for it. regardless, i'm happy trevor finally getting all of them out.
Sold 250 copies (he even claims 400 copies) of his zine for 50 dollars each and most of the buyers never even got it. So he scammed people for at least 12500 dollar! Doesn't deserve a platform like this. I know better people who do.
Mine took a few months to arrive but I got it over a year ago now. I feel bad for anyone who hasn’t gotten theirs but this seems like something that might have come about from a lack of experience and resources more than a malicious scam.
Half the people claiming he’s a scammer didn’t even buy a zine 😂 received mine later than expected over a year in fact but everyone shouldn’t be so quick to get their back up! You never know what people have going on behind the scenes 🤷♂️
I got my zine within a couple of weeks, I know the guy packing them was doing it alone. Trevor didn’t run a shipping operation or anything for this, he sold a good amount and they had to be hand packed and taken to a post office. I guess it was just tough with that many to ship by hand. It’s a sick zine, the print I got with it is cool too. My style has moved towards images with no people in but looking at his zine always makes me want to head out into civilisation and see what mad shit is out there. Why don’t we chill with the internet cancel brigade, if you ordered one I’m sure you can still reach out and you’ll get a response.
Remember that negative experiences will always be louder than positive. I don’t really comment on UA-cam but it’s rough seeing the pure vitriol people have over something they can either resolve if they ordered one or just move on from if they didn’t?
I stumbled upon your first vid on this guy sometime ago and thought this dude is kinda obnoxious and really full of himself. You normally can’t trust people like that. So I’m not surprised seeing the comments of him scamming people right now.

With everyone allowed to carry concealed in Florida, you get yourself shot. Besides the fact it just ruins the idea of street photography for the people who don’t understand it and just think of it as being rude.
what if i told you this has been debated a million times and photographers that do so have already decided it’s worth taking the picture, and trying to set some sort of moral high ground over it has zero effect. Every time I tell people this, their immediate next response is that they will assault me. If they think taking a flash photo is equal force to physical assault, they’re not really the moral high ground they pretend to be. If you don’t like it, call me an asshole in the street. He took money from people for something he didn’t deliver on. He stole a lot of money. No one cares if he’s broke considering the context. He’s a thief.
You don't need money to be transparent to your supporters. Maybe he feels guilty about ruining his reputation for a little short term gain. I know I would.
That's true, but all things considered, I don't think his reputation is that besmerched. Give it a year, and I don't think many will still care. He should outsource production to somewhere else if he actually wants to do a zine run.
So being broke is an excuse to rip people off and then not address the issue with the people that were willing to support him? He comes across arrogant and entitled. He probably started doing hard drugs and used the cash to STOLE to feed his addiction.
