Just discovered this channel on my way of building an opinion to buy a monochrom camera (shooting B&W anyway in 99 % of my projects). However - this is not only information sharing on street photography - it's humorous, it's inspiring and motivating to take the cam, go out and shoot. I never was asked to "like" and "Subscribe" in this winking way. Allan is passionate on photography - I believed that within seconds. THANK YOU !

Met a few street photographers at the Seattle St. Patrick’s day parade today. I did a number of reflection shots. Reflections are like juxtaposition. It was there before you owned a camera. You probably never saw them. Then it was pointed out to you and now you see them everywhere. The same thing with reflections. Thank you Alan for showing us how to seek reflective surfaces. They are around us waiting to be used by us. This is a great gift. I will reveal my favorite reflection sight. The main branch of the Seattle public library has a reflective surface on the overhang on 4th avenue. As the roof is on the 2nd floor a long lens is required. I brought the Fuji 135mm specifically for these shots. I am one of the few Seattle photographers I’ve seen do this shot. This is similar to your tip#7 location. Something that is good to know about about reflections is that they are, or can be, related to your aperture. You see the reflection. In your EVF the reflection may or may not be there. You will have to find the right aperture that allows your sensor to see what your eyes are seeing. This is simple enough with a mirrorless camera because the EVF works on the WYSIWYG principle. With a DSL you’ll have to guess at your setting and take a picture to see what your sensor is seeing. Simple enough. You definitely have earned your 00 rating. License to kill, or at least capture people’s images (in some Native American cultures that is the same thing) with your Leica. Errant thought. Britain uses the metric system. I think I have said it before, but I will say it again - I have not enjoyed street photography videos this much since the old DigitalRev TV days of Kai and Lok in HK. Amazing content - both funny and educational!
Awesome channel, just found it, via YT recommendation. My weirdest reflection was a self-portrait from a faucet in the bathroom in the hotel I was staying. And a self-portrait of a reflection in a car side mirror that was a reflection of a car window.
Excellent video. What I enjoy most about your channel is the inventivesss and great ideas that I can draw inspiration from. I had to take out my camera from the bag and put my phone under the lens to try that reflection, and I can now use that knowledge and take it with me.
Very enjoyable watch! I'm a big fan of the 180-degree flip, especially around bodies of water, giving a painterly rendering. From this video, the use of a cell phone screen reminded me that 40 years ago, I had a Cokin filter system that had a mirror that you could insert into a frame/hood on the lens that could be positioned and angled for exactly this type of shot. I had completely forgotten about it, but next time out, I'm going to try that phone trick.
I often find a cheeky mid photo session pint can either make or break a session. I find cherry tomatoes the best street session snack, mildly hydrating, slightly sweet and not too heavy like a sausage roll.
Your videos stand out from the other photographers’ explanatory videos! I don't normally write reviews, but whenever I look at your videos with a smile and realize afterwards how much of the content I incorporate into my own photos, I can only hope, that you continue to fill this channel with your inspiring thoughts and your artistic work!
