Hi somewhere at 3:35 when you align arrows you then need to wind it again, the marker will go to 1 and stop automatically, otherwise you are shooting photo paper
This camera is a wee bit expensive to take out in the field. Malefic can print a panorama camera for you at very reasonable cost. You do need a lens for large format.
I know these cameras. James doesn't. Didn't you see the handling error? He didn't advance the film! He made the first exposure on the backing paper! ... ffs.
@@parratt-world Hey Kev, instead of being a dick for no reason why don't you be productive and make a video explaining how you think the camera should be used so that others can learn before using one. Or if thats too much how about; just don't be a dick.
Oh what a pity! :( As opposed at what someone suggested to you, I hope you keep this video here because it can be very helpful! Also the image that came out is absolutely gorgeous! Keep up the good work 💪💪💪 and don't mind all the assh*les around here...
If I understood correctly, you used a DSLR as a light meter for the first shot? Why was the DSLR set at ISO100 when the film was ISO400? Is it to compensate for the reciprocity failure?
There is no reciprocity failure at 1s. At the time I was often exposing Portra 400 at 100 simply to make sure there was no loss of shadow detail. Nowadays I meter at 320 in the shadows.
He sold it because he doesn't know how to use it! He didn't advance the film! He made the first exposure on the backing paper! No wonder he sold it. LOL

Did you take a video 6:17 long on purpose? Love the Linhof :)
Never actually saw you wind the film on after loading it.
That thing is HUGE!! I want one!
Now that's a camera.
Seriously, this is a camera I wish I could afford. I can take Xpan but this is another level.
Hi could you please tell me the filter size on this 90/5.6 lens?
82mm
how to focus ??
Use the distance markings on the lens.
Did you cut it to 6:17min length on purpose?
How does focus work? Do look through something where you verify the focus?
You guess or measure using something else (standalone rangefinder, tape measure), then adjust the camera accordingly.
James van der Moezel thank you. I never saw such cams befor they pop up on YT. Interesseting system.

Does anyone know what kind of enlarger you would need to make a print from this camera?
A Durst Laborator 138 can take negatives up to 18cm wide.
5x7. 170mm is just under 7 inches.
Why did the other images come out blank?
I messed up when I loaded the camera.
Oh man, what a disappointment that the other photos didn’t turn out

I wasn’t expertly familiar with a camera the first time I used it? What a surprise.

video length: 6:17
nice
Si cargaste mal la cámara, debiste dejar primero la imagen N°1 luego de rotar la manilla,

Кто-нибудь знает что плавает в воде на 5:16 какая-то рыба или змея?? Who knows - what it is swims in the water on 5:16? Is it fish or snake?
In fact it is a bird called the Australasian Darter.

@@jamesvdm and you don't compensate for the 2 stops filter ?
@@Dick911R You know what, that's probably why I metered it at 100. It was so long ago now I can't really remember.
Wow this thing makes the xpan look like a joke 😅
Brave of you to run the vlog. Must have been a great disappointment to you.
I missed the reason you sold it. Shame.

You will hear in the video it was sold before I used it.
