best you can do is search scheiren or solliek. Then somehow making redoer with your scheiren. So it's more of a control deck now. Where you tried to fusion on your opponent turn if you get unlucky. It would be funny if they release tear kash later but nerfing tear even more
The Merli + Millers hit actually does a lot of damage. No more sprind elf lines, no more kit mill 8 with kit mill chain blocked. No more Scream Normal Merli to unbrick. And most importantly 2 fusion summon per turn instead of three meaning end boards are between Rukalos or Kaledo Heart, not having both.

Not gonna lie the Merrli ban is more brutal then I first thought. I didn't realize how much of the deck revolved around her. Reinoheart is the deck's one and only normal summon with an effect. You have no target for Kit if you started with Reinoheart unless you summon any other Tear for no effect. Spright Elf and Sprind are insanely hard to summon unless you specifically run Diviner and don't use the effect. Going from three potential fusions to two makes any form of interruption that much more devastating, especially if it result in a name being banished.
I played against this Rhongo deck with my Kozmos in low ladder. Pretty much committed to playing Labrynth after that. Can’t play fun decks even in low ranks smh.

Honestly, banning a Tear name is a harder hit that limiting all of them. It makes them both less consistent, more fragile and less powerfull, since now they can only fusion 2 times per turn
The merli ban actually goes kinda hard. That is not a consistency hit. Its a power hit. Your ceiling is lowered now. If tcg decided to swap kit with merli, that would be interesting. MD devs might be on to something
Yes. I’ve been saying ban schieren this whole time. But Merli might be even better. I’d rather deal with the Rank 4s made by Schieren than the Spright Cancer summoned using Merli.

When Elf got banned in TCG I was fuming. Before that I found Merrli to be a big problem cause Spright elf was mainly being played in tear TCG simply because of her, and unfortunately because of that, Spright had to lose one of their extra monster cards...without them doing much in tear 0 format. If you get rid of Merrli, you reduce both the effectiveness of Tear AND Spright sprind/elf. Elf doesnt have to get banned and kitkallos also doesnt have to go.
I think I just realized the actual reason they banned Merrli instead of Kitkallos or any of the others: Merrli is the _lowest rarity,_ so they can ban her with less risk of losing money.

As a Dogmatika player, that banlist made me so happy, seeing tear and branded being hit, bishbaalkin, rhongo, agido and merrli got banned and nadir got up to 3, now i'll wait for luluwalilith and mikanko releases
The only hit I want to see is Runick Fountain to 0. They can unlimite the rest of the cards. Fountain carries the entire deck on it's back and it's not ok

If Joshua Schmidt believes Circular should be banned because it's a 1 card starter, Fountain literally keeps Runick together with duct tape. Remove it and the deck is gone. Remove Circular and the deck still functions. Fountain is more of a problem that never should have been printed.

I don't think a card that is searchable with every card in its archetype and becomes pot of greed for just playing cards AND makes every card in your archetype a hand trap isn't good card design. Joshua slanders Circular because it's an in-archetype foolish that searches a spell when you summon an in-archetype monster. Every Runick is Rota on top of extra effects, and the field spell is a Magical Musket Max on top of being a pot of Avarice/Greed. Fountain is a bannable problem. Circular is being crucified for the sins of Update Jammer Accesscode.

kitkallos is still legal and that card is the biggets problem, also in teh OCG the deck is way more hite and is still one of teh Top 3 decks for some weird reason.

I'm really starting to think that Farfa shouldn't be able to play the game. Basically what he is saying, most of the times, is: "Let me play the unfun combo pile and ban everything because I'm tired of the meta"(which I can understand). However I would like to be able to play diverse decks rather than murder Branded, Tear, Spright, etc., and just to clarify I play all of these decks and also the new best one DLink
They did the same thing with Flunders: hitting terraforming, the pots, nobleman of crossout, called by, shifter. And then later the limited the field spell. And finally they banned the statue. And in the next list they limited Empen..
Getting Tearlament to a good place is hard, but so far I like what they have done with the deck. The deck does a lot of interesting and cool stuff but very easily becomes overwhelming. It would nice to have it in the meta without it necessarily being the best deck.
No deck deserves to get the DR treatment, I'm gonna be real with you. It's both unrealistic and makes players unwilling to invest in new decks regardless of their power level if Konami shows any willingness to give more decks the DR treatment. It's not the win you think it would be.

My most hated hit is easily That Grass. That card pretty much single-handedly enables a really fun and unique style of deck-building that is otherwise almost completely unviable, and it's not like the 60-card variants of any of the top decks are overperforming compared to their normal builds (other than maybe D-Link, I guess, and I feel like they clearly didn't care about hitting that).
D Link 60 card does not perform better than the 40 card variant either, its pretty much impossible for 60 ever to be better than 40 and it sucks the games banlist/players reinforces that and removes unique deck building other than 40 cards only
@@thechachabinx3098 The reason that people are against 60 card grass decks is because you feel like you lost to RNGesus and not your opponent. Grass works as a +19 in decks that run the card, sure it enables a completely different take on deckbuilding but it is also far too powerful for those decks.
This is one of those "the grass isnt always greener on the other side" type things (pun intended), with tear dethroned, kashtira will takes its place, and this deck is gona turn masterduel in surrender button simulator, I don't think this was a good ban list at all

So basically, my skull servant deck with a tear main deck engine got absolutely fricked, while tear itself is still very much useable. Yeah, that’s about what I expected going into this
Tearlaments Merrli got banned to make Tearlaments slower, not unplayable. Pot of Extravagance got semi-limited to make rogue decks slower, not unplayable. MD doesn't tries to make decks unplayable because it means less cards available to buy = less revenues. But still limits and bans certain cards to push players to buy the newer cards.
I don't think banning a single card could hit tear more than merli, if you hit reinoheart they will just play sea mare or punk engine (+ fusion substitutes) and hitting kitkallos doesn't seem to work that well either as can be seen in the OCG
Thats why I like the OCG banlists more. They dont straight up kill decks. And their consistency hits are always fast. TCG waits for 2-3 formats before hitting a card from 3 to 2. They let you play a broken card at 3 for too long to then instantly banning it rather than dealing with slowly overtime.
merrli hit is probs worse than the tcg and ocg because you just lose a whole name to fuse with compared to them being all at one over there anyway spright best deck and tear is gonna drop hard

i love how they continuo in using the banlist to make decks as inconsistent but still able to do the same combos as possible. tear is now out for so long even in master duel as well as spright so why can't we just ban kitkalos and then when they do their thing it's it's worse in totality but at least it's not that every other game you get high rolled
@@pro711200 you do know what consistency means? losing kit doesn't loose consistency as it does not change how likely you are to get to what you want to do it just makes what you can do 100 times worse which for tear while magic dragon is legal is still as good as other decks.
@@esrohm6460 it literally does... Losing kit means you lose all your main 1 card starters... Reinoheart is a one card starter with kit and isn't without. The deck will basically have to rely on milling well instead of having 1 card plays. I love when people who have never touched the deck tell me I'm wrong.
@@pro711200 which means it is a power not consistency decrease. low consistency means that what the deck does is highly reliable on what you open while low power means that regardless of what you open you will do not as much. without kit you are still as likely to draw a starter as before but what you can achieve with those starters is way worse. technically without kit there is a consistency decrease because reinoheart can no longer on it's own fuse into something as there is no fusion from water warrior and dark aqua so you need a second card to make something like mudragon but that is not what you are talking about. you say that if a deck can no longer do what it did before, that is a consistency decrease.

Also if you normal rinoheart, then you wont have a target for kit to summon back when activating its effect, that would do something on summon

Rhongo hit makes sense to me. From what I’ve seen online Sales Ban Rhongo decks have been a pain in the ass to deal with higher up the ladder

No deck deserves to get the DR treatment, I'm gonna be real with you. It's both unrealistic and makes players unwilling to invest in new decks regardless of their power level if Konami shows any willingness to give more decks the DR treatment. It's not the win you think it would be.

My most hated hit is easily That Grass. That card pretty much single-handedly enables a really fun and unique style of deck-building that is otherwise almost completely unviable, and it's not like the 60-card variants of any of the top decks are overperforming compared to their normal builds (other than maybe D-Link, I guess, and I feel like they clearly didn't care about hitting that).
D Link 60 card does not perform better than the 40 card variant either, its pretty much impossible for 60 ever to be better than 40 and it sucks the games banlist/players reinforces that and removes unique deck building other than 40 cards only
@@thechachabinx3098 The reason that people are against 60 card grass decks is because you feel like you lost to RNGesus and not your opponent. Grass works as a +19 in decks that run the card, sure it enables a completely different take on deckbuilding but it is also far too powerful for those decks.
Doesn't really matter, knowing master duel rigged shuffler my enemy will going first with grass in hand anyway

This is one of those "the grass isnt always greener on the other side" type things (pun intended), with tear dethroned, kashtira will takes its place, and this deck is gona turn masterduel in surrender button simulator, I don't think this was a good ban list at all

Tearlaments Merrli got banned to make Tearlaments slower, not unplayable. Pot of Extravagance got semi-limited to make rogue decks slower, not unplayable.
MD doesn't tries to make decks unplayable because it means less cards available to buy = less revenues.
But still limits and bans certain cards to push players to buy the newer cards.
I don't think banning a single card could hit tear more than merli, if you hit reinoheart they will just play sea mare or punk engine (+ fusion substitutes) and hitting kitkallos doesn't seem to work that well either as can be seen in the OCG
From what people say (that I agree with), Merrli ban is way worse for the deck than Kit.
Thats why I like the OCG banlists more. They dont straight up kill decks. And their consistency hits are always fast. TCG waits for 2-3 formats before hitting a card from 3 to 2. They let you play a broken card at 3 for too long to then instantly banning it rather than dealing with slowly overtime.

The point of a ballist shouldn't be to make a deck unplayable but to lower the ceiling of the deck so others can compete.
This ban lost made me so happy tbh this is probably the best ban list this year plus kash coming in makes tear even more unplayable almost makes me feel bad “almost “ the branded needed to be hit harder tbh the deck is this too strong with all the support it gets

i love how they continuo in using the banlist to make decks as inconsistent but still able to do the same combos as possible. tear is now out for so long even in master duel as well as spright so why can't we just ban kitkalos and then when they do their thing it's it's worse in totality but at least it's not that every other game you get high rolled
It's how they generally do it in the OCG. They hit consistency until either the deck falls out of the meta or until they need to straight up kill it.
Lol banning kit is a way bigger consistency hit than banning Merrli. I love most people who complain don't actually play the deck.
@@pro711200 you do know what consistency means? losing kit doesn't loose consistency as it does not change how likely you are to get to what you want to do it just makes what you can do 100 times worse which for tear while magic dragon is legal is still as good as other decks.
@@esrohm6460 it literally does... Losing kit means you lose all your main 1 card starters... Reinoheart is a one card starter with kit and isn't without. The deck will basically have to rely on milling well instead of having 1 card plays. I love when people who have never touched the deck tell me I'm wrong.
@@pro711200 which means it is a power not consistency decrease. low consistency means that what the deck does is highly reliable on what you open while low power means that regardless of what you open you will do not as much.
without kit you are still as likely to draw a starter as before but what you can achieve with those starters is way worse.
technically without kit there is a consistency decrease because reinoheart can no longer on it's own fuse into something as there is no fusion from water warrior and dark aqua so you need a second card to make something like mudragon but that is not what you are talking about. you say that if a deck can no longer do what it did before, that is a consistency decrease.

Overall I'm happy with alot of these hits. they focused on cards based on how unfun and problematic they are. Not based on the competitive meta.
