Hopefully it does well, the old rain-x can’t hurt. 😉 they also mentioned using Armor All as an option, you’re supposed to take them down from fall-winter. If you do that I’m sure it will extend the life of them.
Very cool Matt. I am wanting to get a few marting houses too. How do you feel about the quality of this one? Neat tip about blocking off the doors too. I didn't know about them competing like that. Seem slike they would make a martin house to fix that issue. I like the way you figured out how to attach it to the pole. That looked great.
They seem to be much sturdier than you’d think. They are not cheap, and the best time to find one new is after the season to have them up or find one on marketplace. Do make sure that if you have starlings around that you only purchase Martin houses with crescent type holes. Our hurdle had been the poke and how to attach it to the pole. I’m too thrifty to go buy the pole designed for this type of house.
@@DeanFamilyAcres I got ya buddy. Thanks for sharing the thrifty guy Se rests with us! It’s funny on the way home from the beach, I saw someone selling those irrigation pipes you used for a pole!
It’s going to be rewarding to see them showing up and moving in!
Yes, it will! Hoping we times it right this year.
Thanks for video. Found an alternative way that took 5 mins. Use a sturdy telescopic pool pole. Push it in all the way to the upper section. Done.
Awesome, always good to have some ingenuity. Just make sure whatever you use will handle the wind. Hope you have some martins this season.

Thanks. Now let’s hope some Martins come.
Good job Matt ... I will be curious how well the plastic holds up to the SC sun.
