Listen up boys. If theres anything we learned from this is that jump packs are essential for this mission. Lets be ready for this boss once arrowhead drops it.
I haven’t played this game but it seems like the jump pack cooldown is much shorter in this one than hd2. It might be good but it still need a buff in hd2 to be essential for anything.
The jump pack is underrated af honestly. The cooldown is tolerable once you get the ship module to reduce the wait time. As they said earlier, it’s absolutely a get out of jail free card and not much else, but it’s helldivers, so the chances of you needing to unexpectedly flee immediately are astronomically high, whether it’s bots, bugs, or a cadet dropping a hellbomb at your feet. It really does come in handy for travel at times though as well. Whenever you’re making your way across the map and realize that you have to go ONE specific way, either around a cliff/canyon edge or through that tiny waist level path through an ocean, it comes in clutch and you can clear across quick and jumpstart the objective for your boys. Did a level 8 mission earlier and saved the whole fuggin mission because of my jump pack. We wiped through all of our reinforcements from a rough start in the middle of the horde, and I was able to bounce around the last stage of the fuel pump mission, complete the task *and* call in backup after riding out the cooldown time. Its the only pack I use and I bring it every mission. It forces you to “git good” and strengthens your offense, allows you to reach vantage points otherwise inaccessible, allows you to cover noticeably further distance quickly if you jump from the apex of any given hill of any amount of slope, and for bonus points, you can jump on top of chargers and ride the fuckers like Timothee Chalamet if you really wanted to. It definitely forces you to abandon certain load outs or tactics but I fuckin love the jump pack
I’m guessing that in the time since the last galactic war super earth high command decided to switch to a cheaper jump pack model to mass produce since there was no need for a more expensive combat variant. In scouting operations the current jump pack model does well, it just flounders in the heat of combat.
@@ratatoskr9366 Even the way the doctrines are implemented; the statements and war cries from the helldivers are similar to WH40k's characters' loyalty to the Emperor.
Being a top down shooter the first game was insanely hard to navigate and shoot around your teammates. Even with the broken stratagems i still find hd1 to be a harder game to play than hd2
@@captainbotstick2443 Yeah, it’s a lot like the Arcade Zombies mode in BO2, compared to the standard Zombies. Sure, the Standard version is fast paced and intense sometimes, but the top-down arcadey style is far more fast paced, due to the vision you’re able to have. Same thing with Helldivers. You have a lot more time to set up defenses and finish objectives in Helldivers 2, whereas in the first game, it’s a fairly small map, and the matches themselves are pretty short in comparison.
The jump pack in HD1 lets you jump frequently but at a limit, whereas HD2's lets you keep the pack indefinitely but have to wait 20 seconds between jumps.
Did they did implement this pov with Helldivers 2 as well? I like the 3rd person view but the top view have a better understanding where all the enemies are coming from.
I don't think they easily translate into the more open environment. The tentacle guys limited screen space and required you to move. Screen space isn't as much of an issue in HD2 though. I would love to see how Arrowhead would translate it once they figure it out though!!! @@rizaldard3835
It's like watching grandpa's WW2 archive footage.
I see my grandpa’s jump pack, and i see mine. Oh my liberty
In universe it pretty much is, since this takes place in the First Galactic War, which was 100 years before Helldivers 2.

@@user-bm7mo2ck6r It's more used as a "Get out of jail free" card. If you get swarmed or such, more so than for actual traversal.
Except this jump pack does not seem to suck nearly as hard as one we got, that allows you one jump and then 100000 year recharge got get next jump.

thanks ministry of truth for providing this archive footage of the first galactic war for research
We're going to need this to deal with the current TCS threat. There are giant holes around the modules.
From Magicka to Helldivers, and now Helldivers 2. Arrowhead has come a long way and it only feels like they're still just getting started.
I would love a magika 2 like this
@@aaronyeager6778 Man that would be crazy! HD2 is everything scifi, magicka could be everything fantasy, The Golden Axe to Helldivers Contra.
There are the guys behind Magicka?!? I used to love playing that game!
I think it's amazing how Helldivers 1 transitioned into Helldivers 2. Almost everything perfectly the same, except full 3D.
@MrHocotateFreight fr, they gotta work a new platform. Whatever they're using is way too buggy.
wondering why our jump packs have gotten so archaic since the first galactic war. Hopefully super earth scientists can help us out a bit in the future

Back when general Brasch's balls were only steel, and not titanium.
This is when you realise grandpa wasn't kidding he used to go to school knee-deep in the sand, uphill... both ways.
This looks absolutely crazy.
You find the shed exoskeletons of these things in helldivers 2.. they're still there.. somewhere.

love to watch genuine game play with good cooperation and coordination
Yeah we are 10000% facing this daddy of Bugs on Meridia once we can go there again
Meridia no longer exists
Is black hole
i don't think i will live to experience the joy of having a close friend coop with me in this game
I feel you mate
perhaps then-but how now?
i hope helldivers 2 would add world boss into the game from time to time.
Damn, the jump pack looks op in the first game
It was super op 😂

It seems to be so much harder than hd2. Huge respect to all heroes, who managed to bring victories for Super Earth in these conditions
That is the bug we grandpa fighting for~? 😮
Helldivers: We fight so that others don't have to fight.
Helldivers 2: Fight for fun
i wish jump pack was this useful in hd2
Look well, children. This is where it all started.
i am here just to see what will brobably come to helldivers 2.. this scares the shit out of me, also the jumppack is more usefull here
This is about to be hard af
Quick everyone take notes
wait, this is helldivers 1?! dang!so much cool changes in 2
Those Impalers were the worst.
How about now?)
Imagine if we could jump back to back like that in HD2
Right it should hold 2 charges.
very... messy, but you managed :)
Ah, I noticed skeletons of those things on the game No. 2.
from this to now. amazing. how did they do it.
you can solo this pretty easily with just anti vehicle mines.

no, only third person and first person, no top down

bruh the gameplay was so much more worse in hd1 tf lmao. you cant even understand anything, looks like everything just feels janky as heck

nonsense, there’s no mobile game with Cape Twirl technology 😤😤😤
also Helldivers 2 was built with the same tools, AutoDesk Stingray
this launch almost 10 years ago
probably because it was made by an indie game developer almost a decade ago
The first game was a small indie game released in 2015.
