@Dakota Travis They had a dilemma, stick with GunZ 1 and possibly alienate newer players, or try something new and be more inclusive. In theory being more inclusive to players and getting more newer players playing your game will increase the player-base assuming you can hold onto the diehard GunZ fans. Unfortunately the game wasn't fun enough for newer players to stay and they lost the original player-base causing the game to die.
It's sad but, I can understand why they did what they did, mimicking GunZ 1 would force newer players to spend X amount of time to learn K-Style which in turn creates a barrier to entry but, that isn't always a bad thing. It's just not the route the developers wanted to take.
Gunz 2 was doomed from the start tbh original gunz was accidentally made from a glitch

@@busybossybee theres another option, they can include k-style mechanics but make them easier to do while providing in game tutorials on how to do them
this game was awesome back in the day
One thing that always puzzled me is how people played/ play this game. I could never do any of the sword tricks (dbf/ tbf or any other) nor the reload shot. I usually run around with dagger, doing the e lunges. Climbing the wall with a sword sideways while rs, still blows my mind. Like how do people move their hands that fast? Would love to see a side by side with one cam on the keyboard and the other on the screen ;D I haven't played this since 2011

I mean... I still can do many of those stuff, but not with such speed, aim and proficiency and I've been playing and exercising years long as a child and teenager and I was extremely addicted to this game to play it 7-12 hours a day... 😅 it was not healthy at all, but my parents were pretty OK with this (Keeping a teenage girl busy at home all day and all night) 😂

Around the time I made that comment, I tried playing it again needless to say I suck what's even worst it's mostly pros or better players than me lol
I used to be an above average player. I could pull off all major techniques, except the really advanced ones like TBF, PPQ, Jeongshot and other obscure stuff (that are actually useful and hard to pull off). In a DM or TDM match I did just fine, but I couldn't compete with the best players in CW. They were on another level. Turns out they probably had a better key config (for e.g. I used shift to block, which is stupid) and a decent mechanical keyboard/gaming mouse combo. You can do all the crazy stuff with shitty peripherals, but it's harder. I'd like to hop on fgunz and see if I could manage to play on a really high level, given that now I have a great screen and internet connection, keyboard/mouse and a better notion of what it takes to get *actually* good. If you put in an hour a day you could probably get to semi pro levels in like 2 months. Plus you get to crush newbies who think that they can play 😅

To many pure k-style double shotty builds. In a team setting, having multiple builds is actually better. Having a double rocket, e-style double rifle, and 2 k-style double shottys would be a good mix. Maybe a pure e-style double revolver giving support to the k-stylers, rocket just hitting from behind walls and being a nuisance. This map may not let the rockets shine though, to open. Grenades were legit in A/D. Not so much in wide open maps again as well.

Man, GunZ is so dead nowadays, and the people playing it move so slow and without real purpose. Everyone using trash tier weapons like shotguns instead of something good like the LX44 or high tier uzis/revolvers. Also single swords instead of dual swords for slower block and slower slice? So sad.
Shotty users were always absolute trash in this game.

I just wanted to thank you.. thank you for keeping the server alive so everyone can still enjoy their childhood memories with this game.. its truly amazing how we are in 2021 and the server is still up.. and no matter what the future awaits us, this game will never die in my heart, best game i ever played

Even I never play this game, this looks so interesting and maybe gaining to much for some gamers that loves fast pacing games and competitve-worthy game for me. I wish Lord Gaben add this game to steam or maybe they remake it.

Its so weird seeing all of these people talking about how much nostalgia they feel when i personally have never even heard of this game until today. And i LOVE games like these. Goes to show devs can mess up the success of a game like crazy.
If they made GunZ 2 with just improved graphics and nothing else change, I believe the game would still be as big as any other

cs, quake and gunz are all similar regarding skill ceiling. no other game will ever topple that
i remember seeing my friends older brother playing this back in 2009-2010. Me and my friend decided to give it a shot to see if we can get up to his level. It's hard, but sure is a lot of fun

Rein is a cheater, got multiple bans on his name. He has multiple livestream clips where u see his mouse (And he dont klick himself to shoot).
I played a lot of GunZ at the cyber cafe back in 2005... Still the most insane multiplayer game I've ever played

But they say if the com shop has good internet you can play together, but we had suck internet back then
