    many years ago when i played, the guides had the default LCD soundsystem music and were made in moviemaker. its so cool to me that Gunz has persisted to the point in time where high quality guides like this are made about it. Thanks for the video

    I have no idea how UA-cam still knows that I played Gunz, considering that that was 20 years ago. It was fun seeing, which moves I was confident I still had in me (I can do up to a variety of Flash Steps), but there were still a lot I had no idea about. All the ones involving reload shot were way above my head haha.

    Ecstatic to see another video in the series wanted to get into this game forever and I’m just the kind of Person that learns through watching hours of guides and learning the ins and outs of how a movement system works. Even the most popular movement games are lucky to get this kind of treatment, the level of comprehensiveness in these guides is astounding and just want to let you know many new players will appreciate these efforts more than you know,! Would love to see some guides on Gladiator, and maybe questing and D-Style (admittedly harder content to do, hard to find strong D-stylers around these days and questing was never mainstream enough though I might have some old texts lying around somewhere).

    Great guide. I love your presentation style with the background music and clean simple overlays.
    I did notice there was no mention of dashbreak, perfect blink, quickblock variant demonstations like qb fbs or even qbldrhs. Also there isnt much melee depth which i know in the current meta isnt as focused on but some things from the glad world are so so useful in certain scenarios/maps.
    Also qb blink, blinking out of blockrush/launch. Another minor point is that dhs and fbs can be done with gundashes its just slow and not super useful. So technically ld isnt a prereq but i understand keeping things straightforward for learners.
    Was surprised to see the velostop stuff as thats fairly new! Kudos! To really show how janky it can look perhaps combo it fast. Vsldrhs when chained looks wild as does adding a blink after.
    stutterstep wasnt mentioend which is just dash slash block which effectively looks like a jankier blockrush. Can also be blinked outof and added to the end of any grounded move with sword out.
    calling it tripleflashstep to me feels like there should be 3 slashes (and switches to weps) but thats minor. Weve always said dfs.
    The concept of angling dashes to map creep as opposed to just side to side or even conforming movement to map specific combat points etc. Im sure all considerations for future vids.
    All in all fantastic stuff,
    Cheers!

      I use M4 for sword and right click for reload, wheels for shotguns and people think I'm crazy but I truly believe this is the easiest keybinds because it is logic and comfortable to use, just have to trigger the 4 fingers for almost all moves in an order but almost at same time, the fingers don't have to move, people using M5 for weapon or sword are crazy

      It might sound oversimplified, but being able to 'top speed' reload shot. Getting out two shots from nearly every move will increase your DPS a lot (assuming you hit, haha.) A lot of new players will get obsessed with using moves when walking + RSing would've been optimal in a given situation (flanking and the enemy hasn't seen you yet, for example.) Next would be traversing the map well/fluidly (not exactly a move, but something worth practicing)

      @@Ukyy75 So, when aiming I generally try to "lead" my target a tiny bit, not because I think this is where one SHOULD aim, but to compensate for my own 'brain lag'. In a perfect world, I try to aim right at someone's belly. Now, there is some nuance about how your bullets travel, because they actually DO move from your gun barrel to the center of the screen, so sometimes a point blank shot can be strong even if you aren't aiming directly at them, because the bullets travelled through their body. Not sure if I'm being clear. But, generally, try to aim 'center of mass' and maybe lead a tiny bit in front of them.

    Why isnt there a way to bind dash to a key like control instead of double tapping. I have read the thread about it but it seems to come down to you have to go through the same pain we went through. Unless I am missing something this would just make it a lot easier to get into the game and learn k style as its a way more up to date control scheme and one many are probably familair with.

      think about it tho... do you really want to have another key you have to press to dash, when you already have so many other keys to input?
      if so... what key are you going to bind your dash to?

      Well asuming you bind alternate fire to shift and block to right click control is free. I dont see the downside of adding an option which might make the learning curve a bit better. It would make dashing easier as pressing 2 buttons with 2 different fingers can be done far faster than 1 twice with the same hand.

      im not saying it's a bad idea! but i personally think that having to stretch your fingers out to tap another key is going to be a bad time

    what is the point of light step

    • @GunZAcademy
      @GunZAcademy  5 місяців тому

      Admittedly, it has limited, though you can traverse about the map with it fairly quickly (since you can get two dashes in a single jump.) The main reason we include it is because often new players struggle with slashing too soon; teaching light step like this before slash shot/butterfly/halfstep can help get those timings down better.

      also what is the point of butterfly just blocking in the air sorta?@@GunZAcademy

    • @GunZAcademy
      @GunZAcademy  5 місяців тому

      Butterfly has a lot of uses! It lets you move, attack, and block basically at the same time. If your opponent is close then you get to slash them, and if they are far away then you get to block some of their bullets. Win win :) @@Ryan-so4xl

    Surprised there isn't Void slash. Kodachi benefits the most out of it.

      Hah, yeah we left it on the cutting room floor after some inner discussion. There were a few slightly obscure things we didn't end up including, trying to trim down *some* of the fat as we saw the runtime reaching over 40 minutes 😋

      @@GunZAcademy That I can't blame you, it also cuts borderline "cheating" depending on delay on the official server at the time. RB being the fastest at 260 MS, others will see you freezing up and dealing with a lot of damage. Most servers tend to keep all kodachi at 290 which feels slow to me. Either way, subbed, and hope to see some more videos in the future. I need to redeem myself on this game

    Is GunZ getting popular again like when all the smash players came over?
    Or is it just coming up on my algorithm again.

    • @GunZAcademy
      @GunZAcademy  5 місяців тому

      It had a pretty big boom recently due to some tiktoks! One server got player count over 1000 concurrent and a lot of the new players have stuck around :)

      Female model is visually smaller so it is easier to see/aim around and also easier to hide behind walls/boxes on the map.
