So, I have a 2012 Malibu LS. My car doesn’t have the steering wheel controls or blue tooth, & I am wanting to replace the factory radio. Will I need the chime adapter that most 2012s need?
Hi Cortez looks awesome i have a 2011 Malibu LT i purchased the PAC SWI -PS for the SWC but i do not want to retain the Onstar do i need any other wiring harness for the radio to set it up thanks man !
I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu ltz that does not have factory Bluetooth but has onstar. will I still be able to access the Bluetooth features with this system?
whats good man i'm trying to install the same exact pioneer you have in your 2012 malibu but my is a 08 but the told me i would have to get some type of module to keep my On-start and for the radio to work, so my question do you know the code for that module?
The module is the PAC OS-311, this is the one I used to retain the on star. Now if you don't want to keep on star I believe you just buy a normal wiring harness. I know a few people who didn't want to keep on star and they went that route. The radio will work fine without the module for on star.
Petrice Delance Sorry for the late response but yes, I had that done later. There is a switch down by my right leg that I can flip that allows me to do it. Makes the radio things that the parking brake is still on. I will do a video of it one day

Quick question, I have the same car, "12 Malibu LTZ and it has the plastic woodgrain looking trim above the stereo and then wraps around the dash to the doors, same as yours, but when I bought the car it was missing the plastic trim that goes around the stereo and HVAC controls so I just bought a silver one from a salvage yard. Once I put that in, it looked nice with the woodgrain so I just decided to keep it that way. But now that I see yours, it has the same silver plastic trim around the stereo and HVAC and then the woodgrain above that, just like mine. Did you do that yourself or did it come that way from factory? Because I'm wondering if what I thought was a mismatch on my car is actually how it was from factory.
@@ParisTheMotorhead Well hell, guess I was on the right page anyway and didn't know it lol. But the headlights....once I figured out that the entire front clip has to come off to do it right, I changed every bulb in there before putting it back on. I do think it will be much easier next time though, which is good because I spent entirely too much money at Oreilly on the most expensive headlight bulbs they had ($79) as I was hoping for bright white with a slight blue tint, and ended up with just bright white. I got a 2009 Chevy Malibu LTZ i got a few weeks ago. I got a Pioneer AVIC-Z120bt I tried to install. I got the GMOS-LAN-03 for onstar. hooked it up and got no Sound. I was told the LTZ model has a factory Amp and it is no longer turning on and i need to Tap into it. no one around here seems to know how. Do you know anything about that. Now i had this same Pioneer hooked up in a 2010 Malibu no problem with hook up. BUT... it did not have a factory Amp. Thanx
What size is the radio? 6.2" or 7"?
***** 7"
Why not show how u did it?
hey bro can u help me i buy the harness but i dont know how to wire the harness :(
With the particular radio I didn't install it because I didn't have any experience with double din radios or adding modules and steering wheel controls. I'm use to install single dins with no extra added to it.
Can a 6.5" double din work in this car?
Yes it will. The radio is still the same size the screen will just be smaller
Can you still access OnStar features?
Yup. Works perfectly
Hey man...did you need a module to keep you bose amp
Nope not at all. The amp will still work with no problem.
Cortez P cool..thanks alot..i might have to find someone else to install mines..Dude said i nedd a bypass or module cause i got bose. People always trying to cheat people...I gotta do my research...smh
atownvet88 no problem at all. The PAC OS-311 does it all. One single module does everything listed below. Check out the link too.

what all did you need to install the radio?
Everything is in the description
+Cortez P and if I don't need OnStar what harness do you recommend?
You'll just use a regular wiring harness for your year and car to connect to the harness that comes with the radio. It's all color coded. When you go in the store for the harness or buy it online the package will tell you what GM years it'll work for. If you want thw steering wheel controls the module will still have to be added too.
ua-cam.com/video/O6i8y4daVKg/v-deo.html. Go to about 40 secondsm that what comes with the radio
+Cortez P how easy was the install?
Where did you get the parts needed for the job?

I bet no one can hear you while your talking with that mic planted inside that. Why didn't you just mount it where the factory is?

Do you pair the same way using the mute button or do you do it with the radio?
With your LTZ does the new radio turn on when you remote start the car? Im thinking about changing the factory radio.
