Yeah that was a fun little project I think the feed and wax really brings out the best in these pieces not shiny and artificial looking, nice warm glow and of course you can reapply if you need to, bet Tuffy had a smile when he saw it would be personal to you. Good job Phil. 😁

I have said it before...you must use oil or natural gas for heating. There is no way you could ever burn a piece of wood. Love this piece. Keep on smiling

Gas heat but, I do have fireplaces and a fire pit. Even once I put a piece in the pile to be burned, I still look over each piece before I throw it on the fire! 😊

That's fun. I like to keep funny coins and store a memory with them. I have one coin that's a penny from when my Grandmother was born in Sweden. 1898 penny. That one I got to pick from a bunch that my other grandparents collected. I once found one of those 1943 steel pennies too. It's a fun thing to do. Here's a giveaway of how young I am, I carry a special coin in my wallet from the year I was born, the only year they made a special 50 cent piece for the bicentennial. I was carrying it as a lucky coin, but mostly if anyone talks about coins, I grab it and show them.

I agree those Pocket Projects are as you say " fun and easy " You showed us again to never throw any wood sraps away, Phi; can always make somting beautiful out of it. Things dont always have to be large to be a very beautiful piece. You must have been tired when you turned that piece, I looked very hard and I didnt see the the Pilsburry Dough Boy you said you saw , but in the recess i saw a Man with a fluffy little puppie on his head. GOOD JOB Oh well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. KEEP OPN TURNING (Scap Apple), (Scrap Apple) (Scap Apple) you are right that is fun to say!!!!! I just cant stop from saying it

Very cool bowl Phil. Nice use of a small piece of scrap; I'm sure it will serve you well as a change dish. That apple has amazing figure and color, very cool looking.
That morse taper cleaner also used to be known as a Green Weenie Morse Taper cleaner. Mike Peace showed one in one of his videos and stated he got it from the same place you got yours so it looks like they are no longer available. One thing that works well (again, based on a Mike Peace video) is a 20 gauge brass bore brush. it fits an MT-2 very well and does a good job of cleaning the taper and is soft enough not to cause damage. I turned a handle for mine.

Hi Phil, Nice video as always! Sounds like you are a coin collector( numismatist) as I am also. I was surprised your finding a 1943 steel cent at a casino. Most slot machines I've seen don't take coins smaller than nickels these days. I'm about your age and do recall penny slots back in the 70's. The 1918 Lincoln cent was another unusual find. Earlier this year I got a silver Roosevelt dime in circulation which was a first in a very long time. Take Care, Myles

    • @PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop
      @PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop  Місяць тому

Yeah, I guess I've been a coin collector my whole life, as were my parents. Kelvin got the 1943 steel cent in change from the cashier. No coin slots anymore, at least, not in this state. Too bad, I like the sound of a payout. A silver dime is a rare find, nowadays. Lucky day! Thanks, Myles! 😊

What a lovely little bowl! 🥰
I’ll tell you a story about a visitor seeing Mt Rainier for the first time … a true story, not one of those silly made up ones. 😂 I was going to wait for your Rainier video, but I’d probably forget, so you get it now.
Many years ago I had a guy working for me who was from back east somewhere. His dad came out to visit, and this guy wanted his dad to get the full effect of the mountain when he saw it for the first time. He had his dad close his eyes until they pulled off the road. I don’t remember exactly where it was, but somewhere near you … Kent, Puyallup, idk … somewhere in the valley. Beautiful “the mountain is out” kind of day, and you know just what that’s like! He told his dad to open his eyes, and of course dad was blown away.
“How do they do that?” dad said.
    “Do what?”
“Do they release something into the air right here to make it look that big?”
😂 His dad thought the place they stopped was some special effects thing! Imagine the rest of that guy’s day as they drove around! 😁
    🥰

@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop hi Tara, hi again Phil. Not only am I from a place that doesn't have real mountains, (even the two I mention in my earlier comment barely count in comparison to your Mr Rainier) but I'm actually from, and still living in the "original" county of Kent in the far south east of England! Isn't that strange that you have one in your vicinity?

Scrap apple turned into a nice change bowl. I have watched for a long time. I can see sometimes the pencil mark when you mark out tension or recess. Most of the time I can’t see the pencil mark. I guess it must be the camera angle because you seem to know right where it’s at. Oh the bottom looks like the man in the moon to me. Fun turning that will work well in your motor home.

Good morning 🌅, Phil, Very Nice piece of art, And I did notice your chuck took a good solid bite into the back of that piece of Apple 🍏 😂
Those tools look very good highly recommended if somebody needs some tools , I purchased some crown cryogenic tools set about three years ago , they are very good, only one thing I wished that I ordered an extra tool a scraper, as I cannot seem to get one where I’m located, I do have a small one that came in some bits and pieces that I purchased back beginning of the year, but it’s not very thick and not very wide , doesn’t weigh very much, Very nice dish, To coin a phase , 😂, in the apple dish, we look 👀 forward to seeing the mountains ⛰️, I do miss my camera, Stay safe, keep up the great work, for us all to enjoy, From France.
