The BEST Affordable iPad Pro Keyboard Case: Logitech Combo Touch Review

- The Logitech Combo Touch for iPad pro is quite a bit more affordable than the Apple Magic Keyboard. I love the detachable keyboard design and the fact that it still feels like an iPad when you use it, but is the price savings enough to make it a better buy than the Magic Keyboard??
Make sure if you order any of these keyboards you check that they are compatible with the iPad you have!

This was a very helpful review! Thanks for posting!
Great video. One HUGE difference is this one protects your iPad. Magic Key board does not. I’ll give these a try. I dropped my iPad and scraped it pretty bad.
The rubber around the case deformed and detached from the case easily after awhile
The Surface Pro/Go line up also suffer from lack of "Lapability" using a Kickstand design along with top-heavy on the screen further destabilizing. But with a built-in Kickstand that weighs barely more than a feather and very light typecovers (made from alcantara for extra lightness) they do at least do everything possible to tread a thin line between functional to use and light to transport which I admire a lot given the trimmed down weight of tablets is a key part of their appeal.
I think that's one reason Apple went for the Magic Keyboard design route which includes a more laptop-like design and a heavier base; which they can also conveniently charge a lot more for (That Jurassic Park quote: "Is it heavy? Well put it down then, it's expensive!"). I'm not a fan of this accessory both for it's excess weight and price though a new model is due in a few months and it will be interesting to see if Apple improve on both these points?
This is where the Logitech Touch Combo design has an advantage except it's lost imho due to the added/extra weight still being about 600g and 150% extra weight to the iPad 11" (!) and worse with the 12.9" model bringing total weight above the Macbook Air 13" which defeats a lot of the form factor advantage of Tablets in the first place though you regain "Lapability" as you explained in the video.
With that said, I agree with your review, that perhaps overall the Logitech Touch Combo is the best general solution available thanks to the versatility of the detachable keyboard, variable-angles of the Kickstand when used on a desk and overall convenience of using the Pin connectors to immediately add keyboard and touchpad along with a screen protection and kickstand all-in-one and a better price than it's rival design the Apple MK.
I probably would have gone for one of these devices, except I already had the Apple (slim) magic keyboard 'qwerty' which you've covered already in other videos and I think is simply excellent quality for typing; it's also lighter at iirc 290g and can connect bluetooth or wired. I put everything in a Sleeve for travel and it retains lightness for portability and I can use it with my Macbook. The other consideration is, I personally prefer a variable viewing distance of my hands typing and my screen (iPad) can be placed further away or even on a stand which is more comfortable. Being able to write, touch or type all at the same time helps too.
From my own research, there's no perfect solution or even outright best candidate for accessories for iPads atm but for a lot of people the Logitech Combo Touch is probably going to be the best place to start looking so again agree with your review's conclusions.
Thanks again for the detailed review, they've very helpful.
Can you please weigh how heavy is each part of the keyboard. ( case part and keyboard part) and their total weight please for the 11 inch
Does the combo touch 4 gen, works with ipad air 5 gen?
How are the speaker cut outs fairing? I have a 2018 model and don't know if it's due to it's age but the thin top parts of the cutouts don't stay flush with the iPad and bow outwards almost like they are too long. Have they redesigned since 2018?

Thank you for saving me $150. I can get my kid a couple PS5 games today too!
I have one for my iPad Pro 11''. I would advise against buying this however. The keyboard is awesome. But the cover part does not last long. The edge is made of rubber and they bend, bump and protrude after just a few months. Not only that, the plastic shell of the cover around the edges cracks after 3 years. And the rubber sort of peeled away from the shell too. I can't tell how many times I use strong glue just to keep them together. I am very careful with my electronics, since they cost a lot and I'm not made of money. I store the case in a cool and dry place, away from the sun when not in use. For something that costs as much as the Logitech Touch Combo does, I was disappointed at the quality.
But if anyone would still like to try, all the best. Maybe you'll have better luck than I do.
That's too bad, some of my friends have old ones that are just fine. That's really sad though.
I have mine and it works so smooth on my iPad 9.
I think they have versions of this case for lots of iPads
I’d like to see more of the products there’s too much talking and not enough showing. This isn’t a good video
I think this video is at least 50% b roll and 25% me holding it or pointing things out but ok. 👌🏼
