In this flavor of competition (USPSA, Production division) I can only load mags to 10 rounds. In real life I can load them up to 17+. In a defensive situation I would: 1. Only change magazines as necessary. 2. Engage targets as I see them while utilizing cover. 3. Ponder my life choices and how I found myself fighting 12 combatants alone with a handgun. :) USPSA is a game, and is a great way to build and hone shooting skills. If you are inclined to do so, take what you learn from competition and apply it to your defensive training. Look up Frank Proctor, Bob Vogel, and Mike Pannone for great examples of people who carry a gun for a living who through competition learned to become amazing shooters.
