I don't understand many reviewers on Honda products as they don't seem to understand the philosophy and why things like loud sounds from exhaust, engine turned down to have reliability rather than like some manufacturers cranking up and unrealistic and unreliable, also built quality in comparison to even luxury brands exceed them. Another is why Honda type R and type S are so expensive, first is type R made in Japan with higher standards, and shipping as well as what governments and Elites did with covid, another especially for type S is America's standards are lower and cost much more due to everyone wants to get rich and unions costs unlike Japan employees have more of a passion for their jobs. FWD won in terms of agility, weight, and power delivery. In FWD you don't need a long and complicated driveshaft to the rear that robs your wheel horsepower. Engine hp will be delivered to the front wheels with no power loss
The car makes all its torque below 2200 rpm. Just a tune alone with jump you up 50hp and 80tq. Full bolt on tuned should make around 400 hp,400tq or a little more at the wheels. Any more then that and it's not usable on the street anyways. With downpipe, intercooler, full exhaust on stock tune you can really only get into it for 5 secs in 2nd and 3rd before your out of room on a backroad anyways.
It’s not a drag car. It will spank cars with 150 more horsepower around corners and tracks easily. It’s about as fast as the 65k 240i around the track. If you want a heavy muscle car that can’t do squat besides quarter mile get a mustang, challenger or camero and call it a day along with their 14 mpg.
Something ain't right. Only make 315hp with 25psi boost? My old 1992 Dodge Spirit RT almost stock ran 13.97 et. and it was rated at only 224hp at 11psi. boost. I installed a Holset HE351 turbo with a custom tune with bigger injectors making about 21-22psi boost and that was a beast. Whole different car with that turbo.

Despite it being fwd, it is an absolute monster on the track. Stock vs stock, it destroys the wrx in many ways..... Without the head gasket issues.
@@daison96 New Wrx doesn't have any Head-gasket issues on the new 2.4 boxer engine. I own (2) 2023 Wrx premiums and I can tell you I saved 16-18 grand over the Civic type R which starts around 50 grand here in Illinois.
@daison96 hi I know that dear is a monster on the track I love honda to much my favorite car I live in Lebanon I have civic r18 2007 American sistem manual is realy monster car on track only one in Lebanon with turbo charge 300 hp exactly stock engine 295 Nm Torque is light car I destroyed the golf r stage 1 and gti 5 ,6 and 7 and nissan 370 z and bmw 335i and evolution mitsubishi stock and last car I destroyed is mini cooper work shop jhon my advice dear hope someday the type car come with two options front wheel and allwheel drive have a good time❤️
@@clint1041 No doubt you saved money, but rest assured, imo, if the STI was still available it would cost about the same as the current Type R Civics. A lot of people sh*t on the fwd set-up, meanwhile in Japan pro-drivers are still tracking fwd Honda cars regularly.
I still believe the same guy narrates these videos after all these years, is John Davis like 109 yrs old? Lol
For the price, nope. You can get a pretty nice TLX or ES300 for around the same price.
Are u serious?
CTR is a completely different car than those appliances
Will sell like hotcakes
This makes my Kona N purchase seem like a bargain.
i would consider a kona n if they came with 3 pedals
@@ShaiyanHossain go test drive one, the dct is perfection.
I love the Kona N
Would like to see what I can get one for this next year
I had a Kona N. I sold it. Hyundais motors don’t last.
@@TheCarCrazyGuy the N motors have proven to be solid. There’s plenty of Velosters with over 100k out there.
I have this car. The older Hondas are better. Not a fan of turbo engines.
I just picked up one a couple weeks ago…can throw it in a curve at damn near any speed and won’t feel a inch of body roll
Whatever you do DO NOT pay over msrp for this. Let the stealerships sit on these for a while and just wait for a bit if you want this car.
Supply and demand, gotta pay to play. There won't be enough to go around less then 3k made it to the US for 23.
Except that won't happen, supply is low and demand far higher. The price of these are super cheap for those who can afford such toys.
It just looks so big in profile tho. Blech.
13.8? GET A NEW DRIVER.
Weighs less, has more HP and Tq than the BMW 330i video from a few months ago but the Type R still manages to have worse stopping power and acceleration than the BMW. And they cost the same! The Civic Type R is just a mark up hype machine. When you cut through the fan boy hype it is just a $43k car. Why people drool for a souped up civic makes no sense. With mark up the Civic Type R competes with much much faster and better cars.
Can't afford, can only dream. Retired lineman diyer on fixed income
A $49,000 economy car. Hmmm
