Yours truly,
Mizko
I really love your content man. You are one of those people who I look up to. I'm still in the transitioning process from being a computer science student to being a dedicated UX Designer. Thank you for reviewing these portfolios!
I believe Kurt and Iza are gearing themselves more to b2c consumer (luxury) brands where a strong art direction and UI is needed whereas Olivia and Johnny are looking for tech startups and companies. Have you ever seen a portfolio that is successful at doing both and casting a wide net?
This is rad! I was looking over some portfolios earlier this week and they were gorgeous but all kind of fit the same mold. These four examples had a great variety showing how to approach presenting your work and what specific job role it’s most relevant for. Great video!
Thank you Chris! Glad you enjoyed this. Definitely will be creating more reviews and monthly doses of inspo to tap into the creative sides of us.
I love how you highlighted the strong points of each of the designers, it's encouraging and gives you a good insight into the different perspectives that potential employers might have.
Thanks Mizko! Took a whole lot of notes from your commentary on these.
The first portfolio has some really clean design. Nothing crazy, and you can maneuver around the page with no issue or confusion. Nice
Very insightful to differentiate UX and UI portfolio!
This video came at the best time. I'm redesigning my portfolio and need to know how to expand my classwork.
Johnny Vino is next level at animation!
Interestingly, Johnyvino is actually someone who has done tones of amazing-looking UI interaction work since early 2017......Quite amazing gonna say
Thank you for the tips!! These are incredibly helpful as I put together my junior portfolio
hey can you please tell me how will you share your portfolio to the reqruiters? I can't find any info on what exactly should I give them if I can't have a website portfolio
This was so helpful. And agreed - I feel like Kent’s profile caught a great balance between UI and explanation
I wanted to ask - do you know where people go to edit their hi fi prototypes to get the shadows and cool staging of the iPhone visualizations? i should know this but… I’d love to learn
I like your constructive criticism. You could explore more UI in the future 😃
Good point! I’ll start to do breakdowns of UX in apps, on boarding etc 🔥
They all presented their case studies extremely well. Great vid, bro
Thank you Sierra!
Thk you for sharing these amazing portfolio and work! I was wondering which platform they used to create their portfolio..Is there any one using Adobe Portfolio platform? thk you!
There are plenty of platforms to create websites like these. Webflow, Wix, Editor X are just to name a few.
JOHNY VINO IS AMAZING .. REAL STUFF HERE
Hey, Mizko, can you please say how should juniour designers share their portfolio without a website? I want to get my first job, but it seems to me I won't
I think I'll include wireframes but won't explain it just leave the working notes and labeling in the images to do all the explaining. My main discussion would be focused on the finished product. I don't have the ability to run real test as I don't have people to test with and my current job is with print design not UI. I can include my training and understanding on testing. My portfolio is a transitional from print media to UI Designer.
Which font is that? 1:18
Kurt's Debenhams case study is breaking a lot of UX principles... (size and contrast) but a lot of aesthetically appealing designs do. If you were hiring would that be a red flag or do you overlook it because the overall UI is good?
Why do I see so many people making their case studies on Figma or Indesign as a huge art board, and then putting that on Behance or uploading to a website. Is that just for creative control? I am more of a visual designer so I’m inclined that way, but I’m worried it shows a lack of confidence in web design tools
I am only a student but in my experience a lot of companies only ask for the Behance links when asking for my portfolio. I would say first focus on Behance and then think about web design tools to use. But again I am only a student and would love more insights on the same should a professional see this comment.
excellent video I agree with you all points made, but Kurt Winter is clearly the best at Visual design!
Thank you so much Jaysen, glad you found this useful!
1st girl was better
?????? I'm lost.....the subject of the video is truly amazing UX design portfolios...but I'm watching two visuals??? lol
It’s pronounced Ping-yay-roe
Fail visual designers call themselves UX DESIGNER now a days
Powerful muscle ups 💪
I wonder if I can still do them 😂
