What if you made island cities, and the one way to get from island to island or to main land, is with planes, hot air balloons, or cable cars. Only public transportation that is hig above ground.
I would love to see more of this city! Particularly in terms of getting people to cycle and increasing walkability would be cool. Someone else already suggested this, but a challenge using canals and ferries would be cool to see, too! I once tried that and couldn't really figure out how to get people to use the ferries instead of walking.
My utopia would consist mostly of electric vehicles on its city streets. Battery charging stations would replace gas stations. Everyone would drive Teslas, Rivians or golf carts.
This s a legit endeavor some cities IRL want to achieve: have as little private vehicles as possible and shove everyone onto walking shoes/bikes/buses/trams/metro.
It's pretty much a requirement for mega-cities, talk to a new-yorker and ask them how congested the roads are. Generally the answer is "when is it not?"
@@ScarletFlames1 Pretty much the same here in Shanghai. A few years ago the city center suffer from colossal traffic jams every day, until the mayor secured Beijing's permission to build a lot of metro across downtown and shoved everyone down there. Even to this day it is still preferred to travel by metro in Shanghai. Also we have bicycles for rent that takes you between your home/workplace and the nearest metro station.

I noticed an option for seaplanes in the Skaargard playthrough and that gave me an idea for a challenge: A city you can only get into, out of, and around in planes. No cars. No trains. No buses.
I would have had a high speed highway with exits for the small islands and trun the samething on the big islands but through the center to beter utilize the space.
It would be nice if enabled the "Parking AI" in the TM:PE mod. Have all the Cims park in parking lots outside the city and then walk in. I get a little peeved when the Cims put their cars in their pocket, lol.

What about creating a transport hub at the highway exit where the sims can hop on various different transports into the city? You could have monorail, ferries & maybe cable cars taking them into the city where they could change to buses, subway & trains to move around. Of course you’d need loads of parking lots at the transport hub...
I want a city like this IRL, but with bikes as the main mode of transportation. Emergency vehicles can still exist and heavy work trucks, but no personal cars.
I think the logs is a glitch with prop and tree anarchy combined with road anarchy which makes rocks and the other props in the rocks section not get deleted when placing roads, it can get quite annoying in the maps with lots of rocks.
