@@TwelveRats Because for example, skeleton drops steak who is most likely human which makes it cannibalism and has severe effects on you. Also the evil biome enemies would definitely not be safe to eat
Plot twist: the buffs benefits don’t stem from physical nutrition, but social and psychological things. Bacon is commonly considered very “tasty”. Grape juice is just unrotted wine, and wine too, is considered very socially acceptable. Indeed, most of the “exquisite” food items are considered “good” by lots of people. So, by this fact, we can deduce that the Terrarian is subject to peer pressure.
@@Camothor10 kinda does since the terrarian doesn't need to eat in the first place. once they eat "good" food, they'll be satisfied for a set amount of time. similar to how they get faster just by being happy
My theory here is that gold in Terraria is extremely nutritious, despite being a metal. It's also, obviously, edible. Probably also has all that the human body needs. But you can only eat it in small amounts because of.... Uh.. Maybe it's poisonous in big amounts? Anyway, we'll never know.
Well, looking from an ingame point, the lady bug is like the same size as a terrarian's eye, thats a mighty big ladybug, and that grapejuice is an entire arms length! Then again, the steak is the size as their head...
I actually didn't know foods actually gives boosted effects on stats generally I just leave them inside chest and left them rooting the rest of my playthrough also foods is quite a unique decor if placed on plates.

Most raw fruits are obtained by shaking trees, which is pretty safe. Grapes are rare drop from the most annoying hardmode surface jungle enemy, which explain why it's much more nutritious. If I'm not mistaken, Grapes is also the only enemy-dropped food that can be processed.
Balance-wise, it does make sense, but the video is merely poking fun at the design inconsistencies/lack of realism (not that Terraria is supposed to be a realistic game).
A cardinal, blue jay or what seems to be a sparrow or similar bird (the regular "Bird" item) are smaller than a duck, so the difference doesn't seem that absurd... Until you realise that roast bird can also be made from penguins. Why does a tiny bird feed you as much as an entire penguin?
Terraria the game that that you slaughter Cthulhu kill a giant sentient plant and able to cast magic spells and we will firearms the game's all about fancy basics good video though
i don t want to dissapoint you but , you don t even have to eat in terraria at all and you ll be allright. only on don t starve crossover seed u need to

Isnt the ladybug 1 ft 9 inches long? No wonder it fills you up so much. (still not that much though)
Also the fact that fast food items drop from literal monsters and the terrarian eats them and gains benefits.
Why wouldn't you be able to eat a monster?

More like "pear" pressure!

I like this kind of view :D!!
You should get more likes for this c:
And when there is nobody, Terrarian silently makes a lasagna made of rotten chunks and becomes plenty satisfied
I'm willing to forgive the slice of bacon considering it's probably the entire pig condensed into a single slice

it's also stronger than iron in the terraria universe, the game design and the goblin say so

This mans really hasnt heard of well fed before damn
Comparing roast duck to roast bird is like comparing a huge turkey to a small chicken. Have you never seen a blue jay or a cardinal in real life?
(2:46 bottom left corner) i do eat a strip of bacon in less than 5 bites... i've eaten entire strips in one bite, and I mean full sized strips.
It's possible that the food gives you an effect depending on the taste
ahh , golden food

Dear Re-Logic,
Food in Terraria makes NO. GOD. DAMN. SENSE!
SINCERELY, AUSTIN
the terraria cook pot covert matter directly into energy that the terrarian can directly absorb
The world would be a better place overall if real life food functioned similarly to Terraria food.
alright so that we don't need to eat?
Well the food and drink thing kinda make sense when you realize that any fruit is somehow bigger than any animals and the player head to
Don't forget the constant world thing, with actual hunger measurement!
Its always confused me that a hollow piece of armor somehow drops ribs
Hollow? Have you seen the inside of a Paladin? For all we know, it could be filled to the brim with ribs.
@@vasvasilescu8597 for all we know, humans could have ribs!
Did You Know?

Nothing!

Homie, have you never had grape juice? Shit is exquisite
Another funny thing about golden gelight is that it makes a bunny be equal with a ladybug
The terrarian can subsist off 0 calories, just not at full potential.
Fun fact: The ribcage drop from the Paladin implies the full body isnt skeleton yet, its still decomposing
Ah yes, the good old terraria logic
We have to consider the digestive system of the terrarian
Who the heck shares a rack of ribs, you eat then all on your own like a monster, duh

I am your opponent

i drink alcocol instead if eating food
may or may not be just based off of taste tho

You forgot the steak is welldone with ketchup
Are you serious? You are trying to compare terraria to reality. Those two are not even close to similar
yea, because a game with massive worms and flying eyes needs realistic food
Wow i cant believe that terraria would make such a massive mistake
You made a mistake by befriending phantom 😡😡😡

water tastes like something

it's cuz bacon is the best food ever, *duh.*
You purposefully mispronounce things, don’t you?
If you want realistic try a game called scum
