What it does is restore 1.3’s smart cursor hold functionality, where if you let go of the smart cursor button while mining it turns it off. I might be the only person who cared about that, but hey it’s in there lmao

Just to comment for anyone having issues with tmod borderderless windowed. Its not possible to turn it on normally (for some unknown reason) but you can go into the tmod config file set full-screen to false and borderless to true. It works like the normal thing but idk why they removed the setting
The way I do it is set the game to windowed then set the resolution to my desktop resolution, it automatically turns the window into borderless full screen.

I use an RGB keyboard, can confirm. Though it's more than just color, biomes have certain overall effects such as blue streaks in the Dungeon. The Quick Heal key also flashes red when you're low on health, and if you're very low the whole thing shows red.
I have an rgb keyboard, and my favourite effect is probably when you’re slowly losing air underwater. A blue line across your keyboard starts at the bottom and slowly moves up as you lose air. Its super cool
With 4:57 (The "block gamepad functionality"), this might not seem all that useful or interesting - but I imagine for someone who is disabled and might have to use a custom layout of buttons and a keyboard, having the game switch between gamepad and keyboard mode when using certain keys and buttons would make the game impossible to play! With this setting, they can enable it and then use a third party program to handle all their inputs and hotkeys. Making the game accessible to as many people as possible is great!

I suspect the option to change what key is used for favoriting is because of Linux - most window managers use left alt to click and drag a window from anywhere - this can be helpful if for some reason the title bar is no longer on-screen, but sucks when I game expects left alt to actually send input to the game itself.
I should point out, for those using GNOME-based DEs: you can use gconf-editor (or equivalent) to change the key used for that purpose so that left-alt will actually get sent to the window, allowing you to use it in games.

The smart cursor for common blocks used to be an option, in a previous update. I activated it, and then when it was removed I still had the ability. It’s useful for playing terraria spleef from what i’ve found out. Interesting to see it here.
Oohh, disabling controller will actually be super useful for using keyboard and mouse on the steam deck, as the game prioritises the gamepad my default and that can cause issues like smart cursor not toggling properly (granted this was fixed in the latest update, but it remains an issue on tmodloader)

@@Kolbra _60 seconds?!_ That's absolutely wacky for Master/Zenith considering you're expected to probably die a lot, being the hardest seed/difficulty setting in the game. Die 60 times (a pittance on such difficult settings) and you've lost an _entire hour_ in total waiting to respawn. Brutal.
If you didn't search the wiki or something just add this formatting in whatever text to want: [i/p31:2017] Just replace 31 after p with whatever modifier you want and 2017 with whatever item id you want
Prior to 1.4, I somehow managed to turn on smart cursor for common blocks by complete accident without even having to access the files for Terraria itself. Don't ask me how; even I don't know.
you still can use steam cloud with that setting off, its just that u must manually select with character or world goes to steam cloud instead of sending then all.
I mean, if your hard drive is so damage that it's prone to failure, then sure But in the same vein it can also delete worlds if it tries to import saves from the cloud and you already had non-synchronized saves
Last time I used cloud it wiped my map data for no good reason, so that's a yikes from me. Luckily though I made my own backup, so suck on that cloud! I think I'll stick to manually copying the player and world folders for the time being.

The game is capped at 60fps. The entire game runs in 60 ticks pr second and they didnt want to have people achieve more than that, so they capped the ampunt of frames/ticks you can have to 60. Also this is only when agtually playing the game. Every menu (including the crafting menu) still runs on 165fps
team nameplate distance being so low is kind of annoying, if you're ever doing a multiplayer server its a good idea to increase it to something like 20 or 30k, since that can cover the entire world also it relates to in-game distance, not pixels

Note that TeamNameplateDistance is actually not minimum distance in pixels, but maximum distance in feet (half tiles). Normally teammates' names wouldn't be visible if they're over 2,000 ft away, but a value of around 20,000 should be good enough to see them from either corner of a large world.
FYI The no. 4 “Common Blocks Smart Cursor” can be switched in the normal settings menu under the cursor tab at the bottom and is NOT a settings file exclusive

It's an Item ID, you type them like this: [i:757]. That would for example make a Terra Blade, you can see a list of Item IDs in the wiki, or there's also a texture pack that shows you the ID of items next to their name, just search "item id" on the Workshop. The name being colored like that is also because of a similar command, though I do not remember how that was done so you'll have to search it yourself if you're curious enough.
i think this relates to all rgb keyboards, (i have a corsair) i think these rgb settings are for different type of keyboard manufacturers so the ambience can spread even to any keyboard with rgb. but no proof as im well aware of rgb controll settings.
@@Jam2109 not *any* keyboard, but any keyboard with software and game detection within the software works; otherwise, there is no way for the keyboard to detect RGB profiles. Probably no Red Dragon keyboards work but yeah, steelseries, corsair, logitech, etc would all work without issue

Fun fact about terraria that no one would ever know if i don’t mention it, line 86 was added because of me! I get headaches with flashing lights and have a friend who gets seizures under similar circumstances and almost immediately after the update that added the super flashy lightning i DMed yoraz0r over discord about it since they had turned DMs on temporarily in order to let people give feedback about the update. They said they’d look into it and sure enough soon that option appeared. Yoraz0r was super nice and friendly and i am incredibly thankful to them

I had to disable that thunderstorm lightning junk, as it triggered my eye migraine (sensitive to bright lights etc). even tho i'm using Flux to darken my screen etc, that terraria thunderstorm flash fried my eyes.

One time I saved my game underground and the particle effects from lava kept spawning. but the physics weren't working on them. once my game was done saving, it was interesting to see all of those particles all fall at once. I wonder what else happens in this state.
I don't know if they fixed it, but just when Labor of Love update came out, if you went in a graveyard biome, and set the time scale to something high, it would flash lightning several times per second.
i wish i could play Terraria on PC again one day it just stoped running no error or crash window, you just try to play it and nothing happens at all i have the game on my phone but my phone is trash i can't even use the grapple and the touch screen is horrible (in my phone)
Have you tried some solutions since then? First steps would be checking file integrity or reinstalling, making sure you have the right .NET Framework installed or maybe some other updates.
