Having seen the whole season, I can honestly say that I think they did a good job. Is it perfect? No. There are definitely some things I'm not totally in love with.
But considering the bar for this adaptation was both in hell (compared to the movie that shall not be named) and in the stratosphere (compared to the original show) I think they landed solidly above the midpoint between the two.
Adaptation-wise, I think it's faithful where it can be and clever about the execution of the necessary changes. Visually it's stunning. And from a storytelling perspective, I think they did a good enough job to set themselves up for success for the future seasons.

watch the first 3 ep. it was rubbish. most of the improvisation laid insult rather than justice to the original series.
