This format is awesome, it’s like a soap opera (steptoe and son) with Chris and you having banter. The channel is my three times a week highlight. Personally I’ve some great memories of the old fast fords. Owned the Escort xr3 xr3i and RS in the 80’s and 90’s and had some great fun in them all. I just can’t work out why they when so far with the paint stripper I mean it is a absolute beauty of a classic car. I’d love to see it completely restored & I know it will be a good bit of work but i also know that you lads have the experience too do a beautiful job on it & whatever you invest in it will be well worth it in the end well done lads I’m really looking forward to seeing the series on this classic gem 👍👍
Rob, Chris, I hope you two are the ones that bring the MK 1 RS back to life because if any car deserves your time and effort it is this 80's classic. Not many left now and I know you'll both do an excellent job of restoring the RS.

Be nice to see you guys do this car but I reckon passing it on will be the best thing due to your time restraints and all the other projects you have on the go, dont want it ending up like the Rangerover
Was never lucky enough to have a real one but I did have a cracking replica. Lived in Southend at the time and even my late wife loved the thing. From the Kursal down to the arches cafes on a weekend, fantastic memories. Guys I really hope you do this one. Mine was black and it killed me when it got nicked. Looking forward to seeing this one come back to life 👍👍
My Nan used to live in South End used to love going down the front with my Dad and Brother fish and chips and watch the boy racers, Happy Days!

I know it violates your "no big new projects" rule, but I'd love to see this one on the channel. That said, look after yourselves first and make a decision that works best for you.

It seems to me that if the price is right, you'll have to part company with this one.
If not, I see hours, and hours of work going into it, which will stagnate progress on other projects.

The Mark 3 in general was one of my favourite designs of the 80s, that'll be a beauty once it's had a paint job done!

Wow !, that was a very nice car, and not very long ago. Cannot believe someone made such a mess of it by taking all the paint off when it only needed a couple of localised repairs. To make it right, it needs a quarter panel and a good paint job, then reassembling. Blows my mind what people do sometimes when they get an idea in their head.
Hi Rob and Chris how about a sit down and take through the cars you done in your youth and show pictures if any, it would be very interesting video because of both off you must have some stories of the car that got away and wished you kept them. A very rare car indeed, back in the day when these were the choice of Boy Racers along with the offerings of other manufacturers the RS Turbo was the king of "Hot Hatches".
It would be cool to do a Black one aka Princess Dianas car.. It would still have to be worth at least tenth of the price that the original went for in the auction 2 weeks ago

I’m old enough to remember them coming on the scene but young enough to still get excited by them. Hope it makes it to the project stage as it would be great to see it come back together.
I had a heavily tuned series 2 in Rosso Red back in 1997, but it is the series 1 that I have always drooled over, what a beautiful car.

It's a shame the previous owner went as far as they did in stripping it but it is what it is now.

I always wanted a series 1 rs back in the day i had so many xr3 xr3i and rs1600 u wudnt believe half of them we drove round not legit n dumped them or scrapped them wish I'd kept them all . Left a white mk1 astra gte on the M5 one day if only we knew lol

What a find 👌this one has got to be done, these are only ever going up in value and to be such low mileage and never to have seen the wrong side of a hedge, as most were, is exceptional. I know its not in the same league but the recent sale of the late Princess Diana's S1 Turbo and the price that sold for has to have had a big influence on any others that are left. Nice buy chaps 👍👍
