Just watched this an it’s certainly brought back some memories - As a lad I ran one of these from 88 to 92 - was 22 when I bought it…..which was quite a lot of car at the time….. an like you sold it as a 26 year old to get me into me last house……for 33 hundred quid……which at the time wasn’t too bad as they weren’t worth a rub due to the high insurance costs….. A quick way to immobilise those from the drivers seat was to flip up the rear seat squab an with your left hand reach over and pull the factory two pin connector to the fuel pump apart…….despite me expensive Gemini full closure alarm this quick little trick prevented mine from getting too far away once when attempted to steal….. As someone that's owned eight MKIIIs/MKIVs, the nostalgia that this video created is incredible! At one point Rob mentioned it had the 'wrong' rear window - any more info on this?
I remember these fast Fords back in the 80's - out of my league - I had to settle for the "cooking" 1.6L but I could dream! That resoration was a labour of love by all who worked on your RS Turbo it looks incredible as if its just rolled out the factory👍 You should enter it in to some classic car shows - sure it would be a winner!

It’s an absolute stunner. Great job restoring it. I saw an RS Turbo and a Mk 2 RS2000 on a transporter today and thought of yours. Don’t blame you for wanting to keep it. Probably worth a tidy amount and likely only get more valuable. Cracking job as always.

Hello Rob, well, this is one of those moments in your life, where you can "wet yourself" with excitement every time that you see this car, or enjoy the thrill of driving it about - as and when you like! Wonderful to see the process from start to finish. You do deserve this "special treat" to yourself because of the hard work that you (and Chris) do in your workshop. Put some felt on one side so it doesn't damage the spare wheel, then when the boot carpet goes over it , it doesn't sag. Nice job there boys.😎👍

Got to be my favourite car. My dad had a non custom model with manual windows and no sunroof pretty rare nowadays and must be worth a bunch nice to see one on the road enjoy!👍🏻
Non custom was rare enough back in the day let alone now and would be worth more in my eyes because of it, I had a base spec S2 with window winders and non sunroof that would be pretty rare now, still own my 90 spec 20+ yrs now👍
Can't wait to get my 1998 impreza painted, still looks good now but new paint and a spruce up works wonders and gives the 90's sparkle back, lovely car Rob, had an xr3i in 1990 in that colour was rough but drove like a dream, sold it on when had my first child, miss that car!!!

Lovely job guys. That paint finish will be better than the day it came off the production line. Did my Ford apprenticeship in 1985 oh the memories when we all first saw the mk3 RS. 👍
Was a looker. Prefer the mk3 s1 to the s2.
"The futures so bright - you gotta wear shades" lol. Does look great 👍🏼
You were obviously and justifiably proud of all the sourcing hard word and end results of the labours on that vehicle. The phrase recapturing your youth came to mind. With cars if you are lucky you can turn the clock back, with people less so. Enjoy your new trophy and my you get back the dividend for all the work you put into getting it to this refreshed stage of its life.
It looks fantastic Rob, well done to all the people that worked on it.
I know my mate broke his heart getting rid of his S1, the memory's he made and the fun we had bashing B roads, trailing the Lombard Rally back in the day, with another mate in their S1. Look after it Rob, they're a car vanishing.
That's just awesome Rob, I first saw one of these on the road when I 16, 40 years ago now. What a great iconic 80's car.
Rob back in the late 80s early 90s I owned a mk 2 Escort Harrier the mk 1 turbo was my ideal upgrade but it never happened she looks awesome gangrates on a beautiful car
Absolutely mega Rob. What a wonderful car, enjoy it. For the number plates get those retro period correct plates, look amazing on it
One word Rob? Lovely! looking forward to seeing you take her out for a run 😀
Hi Rob, what an absolute peach, looks fantastic, well done another RS Turbo back on the road,. Enjoy it after all the work mate. Alex
What a beautiful car Rob, and a lovely little treat to yourself. I know you mentioned number plates a few times, but some original dealership plates would look lovely on that 👌
It's amazing that a few decals really make the car what it is. You have done nice job of that S1 RS Turbo.
I owned one for 15 years and I want it back, badly ! She looks lovely Rob, well done mate 👏🏻👏🏻
I sold mine a few years ago because I needed the money to finish my house and get us mortgage free, it was the right decision but I really regret it and feel sad whenever I see one.
It was hard to watch this final video but what a beautiful car you’ve ended up with, well worth the effort.
Hopefully one day I can buy another as it was always my dream car when they were new.
Beautiful beautiful car my favourite car of all time sod the Ferraris and Lamborghinis I would love to be able to own one of these. Excellent job well done rob
That's one hell of a transformation there. Great to see a survivor getting the works thrown at it because we'll never see anything else like it. Enjoy it because you deserve it 🙂👍🏻
If i had one of these back in the day, the ex-wife might have been an oil painting instead of a pork scratching
Great job on the classic Escort RS Rob. You deserve it, all that hard work mate!🥇🥇
Perfect Saturday Afternoon watching.. Thanks boys👍
Probably the most iconic escort ever made!! Absolutely stunning head turning car.
Did the painter do ya teeth too Rob, we needed the sunglasses at the end 😎
But that smile said it all, enjoy it mate you deserve it 👍😁
Great to see it restored so well, can't beat a classic Ford.
Excellent job Rob ! You will look great cruising along Margate promenade in it.............
The paintwork is out of this world
I don't blame you for keepin it Rob, its the best Mk1 on the road 👍👍
Well deserved Rob enjoy it !! Can't remember last time I seen a washer bottle for rear wiper in boot
Really cool, can I say I absolutely love how you include your UA-cam supporters. You include us like we are part of the build or repair. Good job bro. (I’m in my twenty’s we say bro lol)
Fantastic result Rob ! I'd say you will get an offer you can't refuse on that ! The series 1 is so much better looking than the series 2 !
