And Okubo being almost too happy for Agito after winning his KvP match was great, followed by Agito actually having a pretty normal reaction to it was great, a subtle indicator that he really had grown as a person
I’m pretty sure “we” was his stoic, martial arts using self and “I” was him using formless and his beastly instincts. That smiling face that uses formless is his natural state, as his original self went mad in the Gu ritual. The stoic him is the version of him that suppressed that madness and created a new version, thus the “we” as he’s being two versions of himself.
I think that title belongs to Kuroki but Agito is very much the closest thing next to Kuroki, Okubo even call him that for a reason. But you can't deny that he has the best C A K E in Kengan Ashura.
Rather than "we", ore is still I, but ruder and more informal than watashi. "We" would be "ore-tachi". Still, very cool video. I found Agito surprisingy for the "supposed final boss"
Compared to Baki, Kengan has a lot of pretty ladies. (Akiyama, Sakura, Tomoko, Shion, Rin, Togo, Suoh, Fusui, Alisa, Sayaka, etc.) Not only that, they have a lot of pretty men too! (Cosmo, Hanafusa, Inaba, Setsuna, Misasa, Kureishi, Liu Dongcheng, Fei Wangfang, etc.)

9:28 It's sad Bad the translation is not correct. Watashi is a polite way to Say I, while Ore is just the most masculine and informal way of Say I. He just becomes aggresive
Glad you made this video but ya should have waited a bit since we could be going into two major matches for Kano rolon and possibly gaolang rematch just saying 🧐🤘
"Conventional" or "Traditional" would be a more fitting word than "Orthodox" in a martial arts context. Orthodox is usually used to refer to simply using a rifht-handed stance.
Short note on pankration: it was NOT a lethal sport. Its brutality gets exaggerated, much like gladiatorial matches. By all accounts, it was the MMA of the classical world, with judges and referees to stop in case things got too bloody. Talented fighters were a massive investment especially back then, after all, and their trainers didn't want to throw years of training down the drain for a single show.
Japanese here. Watashi is more of a formal polite way to refer to yourself. Ore is a more rough way to refer to yourself. Hope this was clear and helpful😊
Just a small correction, the Fang also actually got sealed by Gaolang after a certain point, Gaolang FORCED him to box by putting him in positions he could only throw punches in. Initially in the fight Kanoh refuses to do anything else, but even after this point he's effectively forced to still keep boxing with Gaolang because anything else would be a "wrong" move (obviously they were sort of all wrong because Gaolang just got through them anyway). Honestly, if Gaolang didn't break his hand there, I can see him winning that. I think Kanoh actually says something similar himself as well. Would have been sick to see Gaolang fight someone like Kuroki, but I guess Carlos is cool too.
So, i think at 9:32 , i think the reason why they choose "we" for "ore" isn't actually because it's the direct translation. If it were the case, he could've use the word "Watashi tachi" which is the plural for "watashi", but "Ore" is mostly used as a less formal way of saying "I" as it is commanly used by Male's who aren't as formal. So i guess when normal Agito is speaking, he uses "watashi" to Show that he is his formal self, yet when using "Ore", he turns into the rudely speaking and bloodthirsty warrior
@@Syhnctrust me, when people more and more japanese, sometimes the subtitles are wayyyyyy to different than what is actually being said, but tbf, there isn't a real easy way for translating Agito's two sides

I thought he was referring to his other self. His human side refers to himself as "we" because he's aware of his beast side and to indicate that he's not a man to be messed around with
@@robboss6685 Yeah, that's what I was also thinking. It basically supports my theory that Kanoh had learnt pre initiative but since his beast side comes up a lot of times the basics were lost to him. Edit: I remember Erioh saying that Kanoh's martial arts isn't something you learn overnight (particularly the arsenal of techniques in Agito's martial arts which included Pre initiative) so it is a fact that Kanoh was capable of using pre initiative at the start of the tournament, but his ego/beast side prevents him

IIRC wasn't there a part in the Manga where they kinda explained the "We" was also a way for Kanoh to carry or give tribute to all the people he killed during the "Gu".
18:26 sorry man but I think this might be worth correcting. Kuroki breaking Kanoh’s wrist isn’t really a block and more of a counter attack given that Kuroki was the king of pre initiative in the Kengan tournament and so he was definitely looking for Kanoh to use the dragon shot on him once he saw Kanoh use it on Hatsumi. Plus blocking and counter attacks are kinda different but any fighting game fan knows that so I might not need to explain in much detail but basically blocking doesn’t actually do any actual damage to the attacker while counter attacking means making your attack land before or during your opponent’s attack while also but not always remaining out of harms way of the attack. By breaking Kanoh’s wrist, Kuroki just ensured that Kanoh would never land the attack while still taking some brunt of the attack but still coming out unscathed and kinda obviously took out Kanoh’s right arm so he couldn’t be as effective with his strikes and blocks so Kuroki ended the fight by attacking the right side of Kanoh’s face since Kanoh couldn’t block it with his right arm. Thus once again this prove that Kuroki Gensai is the fucking goat and king of battle tatics in Kengan as a whole.
