If you look at Waka's career from an in-universe standpoint, he is basically the protagonist of his own shonen. He also almost NEVER loses his fights, to the point where the audience labels him as "just invincible", much like we beyond the 4th wall think shonen protagonists always win due to plot armor, giving the impression that he stomps everyone he comes across with ease. Yet when you see him fight people like with Muteba or Julius, you see how much effort he puts into strategy, to the point where he could have easily lost if he didn't take his opponents seriously... Again, just like a shonen protagonist, because we all consider them unbeatable due to plot, but re-read Hajime no Ippo or Naruto and those stories will remind you that while the hero always wins, it is always JUST BARELY, by the skin of their teeth. I credit Ohma’s win over Waka to the fact that he had that “toxic champion” mentality. Remember what Sen said about masters acting like they weren’t doing the bad shit that makes all the great ones who they are? Imagine the guys who let that phase get to their heads
Wakatsuki admit when fight Julius that Raian are stronger than him, Raian only Lose to Ohma because play too much absolutely outclassed him when used the removal.
My issue with the Ohma/Waka fight is that Ohma took far too many hits…especially because he kept blocking when he should dodge. Repeatedly blocking punches and kicks from someone of Waka’s size should have broken anyone. Contrast that with Cosmo, who uses footwork, parries, and dodges to not get hit, instead of just blocking. Ohma should have had nothing left. Yes, Demonsbane uses the opponent’s own power against them, but that energy flows through Ohma, and Waka is outputting a lot of energy. I understand why Ohma had to win, but the way the fight was written was bad. Ohma got beaten up all through the fight, and then won.
I think it made Ohma remember his training and how he figured out Demons Bane, if he didn't took that punishment probably he would never re-achieve it until the finals (or would lose)
I mean not really, because ohma later on becomes much more of a strategic fighter and because of the niko styles nature people forget that ohma is a legit superhuman, he tanked non-stop hits from a fully removed raian while advance was in full throttle so there was no redirection or adamantine kata to help mitigate the damage that was his body's base durability tanking those hits, and he could still fight after that slugfest, wakatsuki is stronger than rain but was also hitting ohma far less so there's no way the damage ohma took from waka should have been enough to put him down, it's not plot armor you're overestimating wakas strength and downplaying ohmas resilience

Initially Nintendo had hired Sony to create a disc based console for them but at the last second they made a back alley deal with Phillips for an alternate version and revealed that to the public without telling Sony. The Sony head was initially ready to throw their prototype into the trash when the lead designer managed to convince him to market it as their own and PS brand was born and it pretty much continued to dominate the video games market till the PS3, while the Nintendo/Phillips brand (3D0) flopped spectacularly in the market and Sega's Dream Cast was straight up assassinated by the PS brand. I mean seriously, imagine someone who has been diagnosed with a lot of debuffs fighting against some super human and winning is still respectable because they pushed through even if diagnosed.
ohma doesn't have cancer? his advanced mode was implied to be straining his entire body + heart. he was eventually gonna die. The niko style also has a different mode shown by setsuna, however it is also shown that using it for a long duration of time will affect the user very badly to the point of impairing them or damaging their brain even. now lets go back to Ohma's version, this puts a strain on his heart. Just because he coughed blood doesn't mean it was cancer, it was the result from him overusing his life advance mode.
Julius beats Wakatsuki in durability and slow displays of strength through sheer volume of muscle. You see this clearly when the two muscle giants fight. Julius can tank Wakatsuki's stronger and faster punches(explosive strength )and then Julius just slams him into the ground and drags his face across the wall. Wakatsuki just lacks intelligent and mindful training to me. He's a prodigy that has won too easily and who's potential has been gutted because he now thinks he just has to try hard and enough and will win by default. We need an arc where Wakatsuki gets a temporary neurological illness or muscle weakness that lights a fire under him to learn actual skill and conscious intelligent fighting. That arc should end with Waka regaining his old strength because of a new treatment and him getting used to applying the skills he learned with his superhuman muscles.
Also about the ohma fight, I wouldn’t say it was plot armor at all. Demonsbane is one of the strongest techniques in the series if not the strongest so it putting down waka made a lot of sense, not to mention the fact we know ohma held back on waka to conserve energy for the last fight (not using advance, not using a lot the heavy exhausting techniques he did in the kuroki fight)
When it comes to Waka, i like his concept, but i would preffer Sandro aproaching the idea of him learning to be delicate and Suttle. He is not as simple-minded/Direct as Julius, and the potencial he has with the Super-Human Strenght gets a little wasted with his Lack of Versatility. Stricking and Grappling is Good, but a Bull will never hit the Torero if he only charges against him. He need's a bit of What Hatsumi Sen has Plenty. Patience.
He has a kyokushin background, that's why he fights the way he fights, i think his agressive style it's the thing that pressure enemies into making mistakes and losing due to mental exhaustion when they can't compete in strength (see how Muteba tried to make a finishing move and took a hit thay shatered his arm) I'm not saying it's the perfect example, but my point is: Waka doesn't benefit from letting their enemies think about how they should approach him, it's kinda like how Jurota stresses the shit out of opponents just by standing there (menacingly) because his opponents know he can throw them with a touch But Waka just beats you until you can't create a plan, and while you think about how the fuck the man is that strong, and how to counter him, and try to not get one-shoted, and by the point you think a solution you are already too injured or knocked out Why he lost against Ohma? Because he was cautious about Demons Bane, and approached him carefully, letting Ohma set up the Demons Bane and winning If he hadn't let Ohma rest he might have won In addition, the nature of Demons Bane allows you to actually counter him So i don't see how being more cautious or patient would benefit him
@@giantlactismid5704 Yeah, The Counters and Redirection techs are a pain for Waka, but my view would be more in the idea of Small Movements. We know What strong characters can do with suttle Movements such as Kuroki, Setsuna, Gaoh and Rihito. They deal so much damage with 1 finger. And i don't see Him using that. Think about iron Fingers or Raian's Neck Breaking. And By patience, i mean the idea of being able to throw faints or a Light punch, something no one would expect From Waka, and Something that cannot be countered (His biggest weakness).
@@Mr.Prideguy fair enough, but what if his sindrome doesn't let him make complex delicate movements? I know I'm kinda stretching it but it would make some sense Anyway he is now training so let's hope is power up is like the things you mentioned (i like the ide now)

Kengen > baki
W take🗿
i agree but i personally also enjoy baki for the most part.
I have to disagree with you about Ohma. Ohma outsmarted him. Ohma didn't beat because he was stronger it was become he was smarter.
1:45 MY MAN DOING ROR CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS NOW? Nah i was at the edge but this seals it subbed.
1:01 did you just acuse my glorious king lolong of stat padding 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Also about the ohma fight, I wouldn’t say it was plot armor at all. Demonsbane is one of the strongest techniques in the series if not the strongest so it putting down waka made a lot of sense, not to mention the fact we know ohma held back on waka to conserve energy for the last fight (not using advance, not using a lot the heavy exhausting techniques he did in the kuroki fight)
It's pronounced Wah-kotski not Wakat-suki
DIDDY WOULD WIN!
Patience.
He has a kyokushin background, that's why he fights the way he fights, i think his agressive style it's the thing that pressure enemies into making mistakes and losing due to mental exhaustion when they can't compete in strength (see how Muteba tried to make a finishing move and took a hit thay shatered his arm)
I'm not saying it's the perfect example, but my point is:
Waka doesn't benefit from letting their enemies think about how they should approach him, it's kinda like how Jurota stresses the shit out of opponents just by standing there (menacingly) because his opponents know he can throw them with a touch
But Waka just beats you until you can't create a plan, and while you think about how the fuck the man is that strong, and how to counter him, and try to not get one-shoted, and by the point you think a solution you are already too injured or knocked out
Why he lost against Ohma? Because he was cautious about Demons Bane, and approached him carefully, letting Ohma set up the Demons Bane and winning
If he hadn't let Ohma rest he might have won
In addition, the nature of Demons Bane allows you to actually counter him
So i don't see how being more cautious or patient would benefit him
@@giantlactismid5704 Yeah, The Counters and Redirection techs are a pain for Waka, but my view would be more in the idea of Small Movements.
I know I'm kinda stretching it but it would make some sense
Anyway he is now training so let's hope is power up is like the things you mentioned (i like the ide now)
@@giantlactismid5704 I Also saw what you meant, and while answering i remembered a couple moves he used, like Breaking Mutebas nose or pushing Ohma with his foot fingers.
I would like to see more polished moves of that type.
And What you say about him not being able to make Delicate moves Due to his Sindrome is Actually really posible but that would Make it even more Impresive if he Did.
@@Mr.Prideguy yeah, let's see what he is cooking in futute chapters 🙏
All they do is copy me I call em waka
Murobuchi Gozo is my favorite character.
Based take
In manga Ohma say Wakatsuki hit harder than Raian Base not harder than Raian using 100% Removal.
Read that panel again cause he said hit's harder than Raian thats it, obviously it implies removal raian too since Ohma got punched multiple times by him.
The narative of the story erased Ohmas memorys fucked up his heart and ended up killing him
Beating Wakatsuki is nothing
dumb ahh logic in that case the narrative of the story kept wakatsuki from crushing ohma in a single punch
@@Oinker-Sploinker ok but if Ohma wasnt on deaths door he would one shot him
So what is your point?
Julius Reinhold was physically stronger than Wakatsuki what he showed in his fight with him wiped the floor and wall with him
Hat tip to the real strongest in Kengan Ashura: Wakatsuki’s mother
