Nah bro don’t listen to the hate Human error is bound to happen, we’re not robots brotha. We all make mistakes and u took accountability. U did the right thing
I’ve been riding for like 35 years, never went down - on a motorcycle. But the same thing happened to me on a scooter. Took my eyes off the car in front of me, car stopped, and I wound up on the trunk of the car. Scooter totaled, bruises and scratches on my body. What did I learn? Always pay attention to what’s in front of you before anything else. 💯
If you didn’t have ABS and you grabbed the brakes like you said you did you would’ve front flipped bro you’re hella lucky you had ABS if you actually grabbed a fist full of front brakes
Bro why you guys hate on this guy so much , chill out , let him be happy. Y'all are so negative I swear bro. He's sad already , not many people can first off all afford a 2024 1000cc bike at 18 . So chill out y'all not everything is about you.
Very glad you had full gear and insurance in place. I have EMTs in my family who shared enough stories to keep me on the conservative side of riding (smaller displacements) but I’d never tell someone to not ride a bigger bike just because I don’t do it. Thank you for taking all precautions to minimise the damage on yourself.
UA-cam just now recommended me your channel. Definitely subbed! Im glad you're doing ok, and your bike is ok too!!!! That's awesome bro! It's 100% fixable!
Beautiful motorcycle. The humility U show, will save your life. We all go down,I own (2) R1's an '05 & '07...And a '16 ZX14R. My advice is: Never get over confident before, during, and after a ride...and deny that impulse to speed and ride outside your skill set. Keep riding.
Nobody wishes any harm to you, young man. Glad you and the other driver were not injured. As you stated, this is a learning experience. When on a bike, you must be hyper focused on the road. Especially in traffic. And give yourself some space between you and the vehicle in front. Finally, don’t ride directly behind a vehicle. Try to stay a bit in the side. Good luck.
Crazy to think exactly the same almost happened to me a while ago. Was distracted by a bike, looked at it a good 20-30 seconds, street was pretty clear. Suddenly I look forward and I see traffic stopped completely. Braked from like 120kmh to ~80km/h and then swerved past the car. Barely made it, luckily left lane was pretty much empty.
If its frames or forks damage just get it written off bro. So you can get a new one. Unsure how it works in the USA But in NZ if you get substantial warping you get it written off and get a new one. Saves waiting months for parts and repairs
Go in the comments of all the videos of you on your r1, everyone thinks you shouldn’t have it (this is why). You’ve proven you lack the skill and wisdom to ride a bike like that.
Men its not like you were doing anything crazy..you were just not paying attention to the front..hell that happens to car drivers so often you know that..lesson learned im pretty sure. Hope ur lil baby will be ok
I feel your pain. I don't think they will total that bike. If they do, from my past experience, they will pay you out and then if you want it they will sell it to you for what they would be paid to scrape it. Probably a couple hundred bucks. Except for the electrical stuff it's all cosmetic damage. Sounds like you know what you did wrong and you're ready to get back at it. I like your attitude. Good luck with it. Thanks for keeping us involved. I hope you let us know how it goes.
Biggest thing is your physical health and hopefully no one else got inured either. Full coverage insurance is there for your bike but no amount of health insurance can fix major life changing injuries or resurrect you.
I'm sorry for what happened bro, maybe next time protect your bike first with sliders and engine guards before buying an exhaust. but hey it happens to the best of us.
Glad you made it out but I’d be surprised if they don’t total it gl man I had a similar thing happen to me in April but I clipped a van and broke my leg my bike had like no damage but they totaled it I think it’s easier for insurance companies to do that then fix it but good luck man
As much as I respect the video, it’s not ‘when you crash’ only like 1/3000 people on motorcycles will ever experience a crash, and even less die. People crash when they drive incorrectly or stupidly, same as in a car.
All the hate is 99% of people who don’t ride and understand, mistakes happen even to the best of riders regardless of practice and experience. I’m glad you are all good to ride another day brother and that’s what matters most that everybody walked away!! But on a more serious note from rider to rider the best advice I can give you is to just please get rid of that shirt .. GO BIRDS ! 😂
How u own a bike bro damn what career u got i got a 2024 r1 blue and it cost 24k with cheap helmet 5 year warranty and gloves. Whats the secret 🥴 btw she will be up & running soon glad youre okay!
As long as you've got a little bit of discipline you can handle a liter bike. Watching your other videos it seems like you can. Hope it doesn't get totaled dude
and thats why u dont take your eyes of the road your lucky u didn't get yourself killed and if you did itd be your own fault. you need to pay attention in slow traffic all the time. stupid mistake and a beginner mistake and your young. irresponsibility kills. good thing your ok bro.
it happens (seasoned riders know).. one thing that should be obvious by now though.. you dont have a single bit of crash / fall protection on that bike. not a good idea when you're obviously still learning to ride.. Perhaps something to look into instead of rushing to post videos. Bikes are naturally unstable, This sound like you were not paying attention to your surroundings.. always focus on your own ride. I definitely would not be blaming it on ABS.. clearly your reaction time is not what you think it was. If you activated abs, without it you would likely have locked up, only track riders complain about abs as it takes away some of the front end feel, that is not whats happened here.. Unfortunately that small mistake is gonna cost $$$.. looks like a fair bit of plastics need to be replaced, along with possible damage to the screen, electrical. I dont think they'll write that off. You'll have to learn to live with. Its too bad as it is one of the last R1 out there, big loss in value. specially since its front end damage :(
Sorry u went down, but that is part of the risk we take to ride on 2 wheels. Bike can most likely be salvaged, as long as frame is not cracked or bent and engine is not damaged. Fairings can be replaced with aftermarket if you want to save dollars. Not sure how old you are or where you live, but be prepared when your insurance comes up for renewal, since you were at fault on this one, they will most likely make you may more on next policy. Stay positive.
Who else saw the recommended buying at 18 video on their feed and came to see if there was a crash video lol

I just did this, everyone was cheering him on, I was thinking hmmm, this isn’t going to end well

Big respect for taking accountability for your mistake man, can easily happen to anyone in a car or bike
Don’t be hard on yourself bro, you can always get another bike, but you can’t get another life.
I’m sorry about the bike. You’re good and the bike can be fixed. Keep your head up homie.
Important thing is that you’re ok. Material stuff will get fixed, she’ll be up and running in no time. F the haterz

It was an accident, it happens, thank God you are ok, fix the bike, take it easy around town and keep your head on a swivel at all times.

Lesson learned ride on
a suit is overkill you don't need a suit stick with the same gear you alrwady had
no reason to roast you for this one...shit happens. but if you didn't have abs, you might've washed out the front braking hard.
we've all been caught looking at something, car, girl, bike whatever, and thought damn i wasn't paying attention. it happens bro glad your're okay
