Laura, each time I see your garden it is prettier and prettier. You have an excellent sense of design, color and structure. It is a dream! I'm glad your family is on the mend. Take care!
So lovely! One thought: that white bench against the white fence just disappears like a ghost. I would consider painting it. I can envision a sage green or robin's egg blue bench looking so lovely with the cafe au lait dahlias. Martha Stewart once said she thought the most sophisticated color pairing was brown and blue. I feel like a robin's egg blue bench and the cafe au lait dahlias would look smashing!
I absolutely love your garden & your home! So we’re out in central California, near Monterey. I’m just about to descend on my nest chapter of life hitting the age of 67. I am a quilter, florist, hairdresser! Done hair so far for 50 years! I love my garden as well. Now that I’ve watched your post here, it gives me so much more endurance to proceed with my gardening plans!❤. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful hobby garden! It’s SPECTACULAR !
“The worst decision is no decision.” Your mom is so wise. I needed to hear that on so many levels! The climbing rose on the garage is so beautiful and fairytale like! I’ve never seen anyone do that with a climbing rose! Is it a rambler? I always love to see your garden!😍 Thanks for the inspiration!💗
My garden is just a baby garden. But I do enjoy, in the spring getting up in the morning, grabbing my coffee, rain boots and my toddler. We do a “tour” all around the front and backyard, seeing what is new popping up. I get your excitement!
Hi it's Bonny zone 5b Canada . Love what you've done with everything. Thanks for the tour of your beautiful garden. Dirty hands are a sign of a real gardener.
Oh my goodness, I love that front walkway garden. I would love to pull out the grass along my front walk and replace it with beds like yours. My husband, son, and I recently moved into the house that belonged to my grandmother and the renter we had in here let the yard go. We might have to replace the grass along the walk anyway so this actually makes me want to plant a walkway flower bed like you have.
Oh Laura, everything is so lovely, and I saw the hummingbird! I will remember "the worst decision is no decision." My mom said "better to have and not need than to need and not have." That being said, I want more plants!🌷
Last year I planted a Betty Corning clematis and this year she is spectacular. She has lots more blooms. And I have ordered from brecks. I did 2 different peonies this past spring. They are looking really good. I don’t expect any blooms for a few years yet. But it will be wonderful when they do bloom. I already have about 12 peonies that are about 35 yrs old.
You have created a charming, inviting garden. I enjoy your delight in your plants and their beauty. You've combined formality with wildness perfectly. I can't wait to see the Jasmine fill the diamond trellises. It will smell glorious and look spectacular! Thank you for sharing your talents with us.😍
We added a roof to our porch in 2020 and I could sit and watch the hummingbirds all day, between the feeder and the hanging baskets and other plants, there’s always a show. Love them.
Great to see you, Laura. I always get happy when I see one of your videos. Thank you for for sharing your beautiful garden, and I am in love with your greenhouse.❤
Hi Laura and thanks again for sharing your beautiful garden! Your garden is cozy and has a realness to it; very home-like feel. Very, very natural and dreamy indeed!
Your garden is such perfection and so inspirational. Our temps in zone 8b is 100+ so my gardening mostly entails watering. So much fun watching your garden!
Wonderful walk through of your garden. Removing of the white fence makes such a difference. And, the change to boxwood totally opens the space. Thanks for the info on Brecks and the free shipping. I'm going to try some bareroot plants!! When you change the garage door to barn style - I think you are going to love it......
Laura how wonderful your garden looks! All your hard work has transformed your space you must be so pleased. I love love the espaliered plants on the fence and just how oraganized and edited it has become!
What a nice thing to say Teresa! I greatly appreciate your kind and encouraging feedback. Makes me happy! Thank you for being here for a year already! I just noticed you have a little icon showing that. Very nice to see. Thank you! Laura
Oh Laura your gardens are Absolutely Gorgeous. You can tell you work very hard on your gardens. Sorry to hear about your son's broken arm. But glad he is doing much better now. That is like my oldest granddaughter fell at work and broke her foot. Laura I love your window boxes they are just Beautiful. Let's just say I Love, Love, Love everything about your yard. Thank you for explaining everything so well. Happy Summer to you and Happy Gardening. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed weekend and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. Your Williamston friend Joan.💚🙂🦋
I love it, a lot of the light pinks and white. You coordinated the different flowers and bushes so well. Also would love to just sit on a chair and watch the humming birds. The walkway is also pretty and clean looking.
Laura your garden is so pretty and lush! I love love your design ideas. Your variety of plants, beautiful containers and baskets make your garden a paradise. You work hard in your garden and it shows. I love that you do the work yourself and you share your experience with us. I don’t know how you do it all but you inspire me. My North Texas garden is a hot mess. Too much heat and we’re in a drought as usual. Buying plants is over! We’re just in survival mode.
My favorite secret garden of all times . Laura you have done a beautiful job from the selection of plants to the different textures with in the garden .
Laura, I get so excited when you post a video! I absolutely love your gardens so much that I save your tours to rewatch for inspiration. You are so talented and such a sweet host! Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with us! Happy summer and keep on growing!, 🌻🌸🌹☀️
I just found your channel. Oh my gosh I love your garden! ❤ your garden is my dream garden!! So many beautiful plants and flowers! You have put a lot of hard work and love into it. I’m subscribing to your channel and can’t wait to see all your other videos. ❤ I’m in Dallas, Texas zone 8a. Some things are hard to grow here because of the heat.
Laura, your summer garden is beautiful! Everything looks so luscious and fresh. We have had some unseasonably hot and high temps here in Georgia, and boy is my garden feeling it. My water bill is double it’s normal amount😩 but it must be done. My normally really shaded areas seem to have longer sun exposure, so some of my hosta have a bit of sun damage, but are pushing out some new leaves. And the previous deer smorgasbord is slowly recovering. What a crazy garden season this has been! I too have purchased bare root plants before, but I must admit that I don’t always have the patience to wait for them too grow, 😂. Always love your garden updates my friend, and they living fence is coming along nicely 🤗💚
Thanks for sharing the detail about your single stem sunflowers branching. That's exactly what I'm experiencing! I welcome it, but it sure puzzled me for a while. 😅
I LOVE buying plants in bareroot form. I think they do better because they “wake up” in your garden, not in a pot in perfect conditions in a greenhouse. They seem to adjust much better.
I watch all of your videos and love to follow you along with your developing garden. I really like the idea of growing up the Jasmine on the fence almost like a Belgian fence....great idea. But we all have to have fences and this makes the area a garden and diminishes the white plastic fence to the background which frames the plants.
Thank you! 💜 the fence would make sense if it served a purpose. It used to when we parked here, and separated the driveway and car from the rest of the garden. With such a small yard, it really felt cramped here in person. This feels and looks much better in real life than can be captured on video.
Laura your front yard is beautiful but your backyard is spectacular. It just makes me happy to see it. I love all the decorative pieces you use throughout your garden. All the white just makes it all pop. Thank you so much for such a gorgeous tour🌸🌺🌸
Stunning garden tour! Hope you collect the sunflower seeds for next year, assuming the aren't Pro Cut as well. The trellis hung on the fence is genius! Even if you never grow anything up them, it tones down the white fence & provides winter interest. IDK, its just perfect. TFS!💖
I have found that each generation of sunflowers (planting this year’s seeds for next year), they revert back more and more to the wild variety. For example, if yours this year are growing from seeds of last year, might be why they are branching. Next year they may get smaller, more yellow flowers, etc.
💜🤗wow everthing looks so good happy lots of gr8 changes . Ive planted bair root peonies last fall they turned out well . yes i also have to put a marker where i plant lol or i would pull up everthing with out rembering what i put in 🤢😊thankyou for shareing a nother gr8 video love watching in Rehoboth beach delawere zone 7B
It was a loooong wait but boy was it worth it! Life with boys comes with sweet challenges. Thank you for this lovely walk thru your garden. Can't wait for the next one!
OMGosh your garden is so, so beautiful! What a great eye for design you have. I LOVE how you turned your driveway into a garden! We are looking for a home to buy, and now I am excited when I see a long driveway with a garage like yours, because I know what it could be! Thank You for all of the inspiration.
I love your entryway into your back garden space. The gate, arbor, and the pruned Arbs on either side is just beautiful. The hummingbird that flitted through your video was just the right touch to your garden tour.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us and your beautiful garden I really enjoyed the garden tour today hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie thank you for sharing
I just love your garden and have really enjoyed watching the changes and progress you’ve made. I really get inspired to make the changes in my garden I’ve been “stuck” on. It’s very true “the worst decision is no decision” 😊 Thank you for the update!!
You have just been crushing it, Laura. The former driveway area adjustments & the whole redesign in the fence area with the new trellis & hydrangeas already looks awesome. So pleasing & pretty. Of course I already love the work you did last year (front walk & greenhouse additions). May we all be so fearless about garden changes.
I just love your front porch is just beautiful with your beautiful plants going up those steps oh my my what a beautiful display you put together your garden beds are just beautiful
So queens ann lace...heres what i do, i go and buy rainbow colored carrots. I chop the tops off and instead of throwing them away, i plant those and i get flowers! Same family same flowers. Also the purple carrot tops give you purple queens anne lace flowers, the red carrots give you a blush color. No, you wont get carrot roots that you can eat.
My mama robin had babies 3 times in the same nest and season, I didn’t know that would happen, the nest was on the wall of our covered deck and we tip toed around all summer long not to disturb her too much. Awesome tour, you got a lot done
Such a pretty garden! Everything in your garden is pretty but my favorites are the topiaries flanking the gate to the side garden and the ones next to your shed. I feel they don’t get enough mention and I love the structure they provide for all the pretty colors around them. Thanks for the tour!
I needed to hear that I’m not the only one afraid to make a decision. And once I make any decision, I do 2nd guess myself. Just makes me feel better about myself that there are other gardeners like me.

Just stunning!! You are an inspiration in so many ways…how to create multiple pleasing and functional places with the space you have. So pretty and a a wonderful tour!
good day. The area leading to the wooden bench I would put a flag stone walk way leading to it then plant bare rooted plants in that area. By the greenhouse I looking forward to seeing just what you plan to plant there. Anything that you plant will look gorgeous just from what your other gardens look like. You are an amazing gardener and your gardens love you for it. I also like how you are planting milkweed and other native plants into your garden. Enjoy and have a great day.
I'm so glad this video was recommended to me! Because I had planned to plant carex/heuchera with my boxwoods in our front entryway. It looks GREAT and I feel validated in my choice!
All of your changes look great. I love the diamond trellis area. The boxwoods as a living hedge is perfect in lieu of a fence. Glad you moved your white bench back. The dahlias will look perfect along the espalier wall. I might add some flag stones to form a foot path to the left and right of your blue trellis - leading to the bench and the fruit trees. Nice tour and update Laura!
Laura, each time I see your garden it is prettier and prettier. You have an excellent sense of design, color and structure. It is a dream! I'm glad your family is on the mend. Take care!
Thank you so much Ann!! Such a nice thing to say! I hope you are doing wonderful and enjoying your garden! 💜
Love, love, love your garden and your comments.❤
So lovely! One thought: that white bench against the white fence just disappears like a ghost. I would consider painting it. So funny you’d say that. We painted the bench a light green called “topiary tint” a couple months ago. 💜😃
@@HowsItGrowing So it's not white anymore? I bet it looks nice.
One of THE best gardens on UTube .. Your garden is my inspiration… love all you’ve done ✅

What a great tip! Screen capturing this.
Just beautiful thank you for sharing!
What a beautiful garden and I love your greenhouse.
Beautiful garden! You are a master at combining plants and structure to make everything look just fantastic together.
Absolutely beautiful!! Love it all!
Thank you. Blessings on your day.
Love this tour! Your garden is beautiful Laura 🌸
Laura, your garden it’s AMAZING!!👏👏👏👩🌾💕
Your videos are always my favorites. I love everything about your garden. Please keep them coming I enjoy seeing the progress made.
My mama robin had babies 3 times in the same nest and season, I didn’t know that would happen, the nest was on the wall of our covered deck and we tip toed around all summer long not to disturb her too much. Awesome tour, you got a lot done
Garden looks amazing! Thanks for the tour Laura.
Your garden areas are beautiful! Love your decision to place the diamond lattes on the fence!
Beautiful ♥️ I have Carolina Jasmine (yellow) and Confederate Jasmine (white) , both evergreen . 🌻🥰
Laura , where did you purchase your mulch ? Thanks 🌻
Been missing your videos. Not on Instagram so hope to be able to see you here more often. Your garden looks amazing!
Your garden just flows beautifully! It is calming and not so fussy. I loved it before and can’t wait to see it when everything fills in!🌸💙
I just love your garden. I also love how you have so much other things in it. It just fits 🌻🌻🌻
Such a pretty garden! Everything in your garden is pretty but my favorites are the topiaries flanking the gate to the side garden and the ones next to your shed. I feel they don’t get enough mention and I love the structure they provide for all the pretty colors around them. Thanks for the tour!
Laura I’m in NJ also and my Daliha came back
I needed to hear that I’m not the only one afraid to make a decision. And once I make any decision, I do 2nd guess myself. Just makes me feel better about myself that there are other gardeners like me.
What wonderful things you've done with your garden! So many really pretty vignettes, and such beautiful color blending that you make seem effortless. May I ask how you attached the trellis to your fence? And did you have to drill into your fence posts to attach the main anchors for the espaliers? Your neighbors must get a lot of crooks in their necks when they stroll by, trying to take it all in!
Your garden is wonderful, I love it, always look forward to your updates…thank you, glad your son is mend
Just stunning!! You are an inspiration in so many ways…how to create multiple pleasing and functional places with the space you have. So pretty and a a wonderful tour!
good day. The area leading to the wooden bench I would put a flag stone walk way leading to it then plant
bare rooted plants in that area.
Oh that makes me happy!! I really love the look, I think you will too!
I looooovvveee your fence area now!
It's beautiful! Amazing how much impact you have in your available space.
Everything looks absolutely gorgeous!
My procut goldlite sunflower from Jonny seeds is also branching. I have same question in mind!
Just the perfect cottage garden!!! So beautiful!!!! ♥️
