Love your garden! I appreciate your ideas and how you are always willing to make changes. Gardening is never static.
Laura, I’m loving this evolution of your garden space. You know, as I’m getting older, I have realized that things I once didn’t care for, I now love 😂. I think it’s more that I’m open to new and different things. Plus the world of social media exposes me to new things, which is how I met you! Thank you for your garden knowledge , your wit & humor and most importantly, your friendship! 🥰
Hi Donna!!! I love seeing you here! You know, you have been a source of inspiration to me many times! The entire time we were putting pickets back I kept thinking of you and chuckling thinking back on our past picket discussions! 😂We are just two peas in a pod and I wish we lived closer! You’re a great friend! 🥰🥰
Your garden is looking so beautiful! What an eye you have for landscape design. I have to tell you that ever since I first found your channel a couple of years ago, I can't drive by a house with a long driveway and garage like yours without visualizing how it COULD look if they would only turn it into a garden like you did. I had never seen anyone do this before and I just think it's brilliant! It makes me wish I had a long driveway to turn into a garden...and the new shed looks like it has always been there, it just fits right in, so pretty.
I did this too! Previous owners continued a concrete driveway into the backyard with red stone. We never parked there and it became a weed haven every year. About 5 years ago, I decided to remove the stone, add soil, and make a cottage garden out of it. One of the best decisions I ever made!
The entire garden is so lovely. I can’t express how much I love the new doors and the entire transformation. You and Marc are such a wonderful team.
So nice Mary! I really appreciate your kindness and encouragement. Thank you! 😃💜
My wife wants to tell you how much she loves your little garden! You do a fantastic job and have fun doing it! Love to hear you talk about all your plants KEEP UP THE FUN GARDENING
Hi Laura! Your gardens are looking so Beautiful. I love what you did over the weekend to those two corners they look so nice. I always love to see what you have done new. Thank you for taking us for a walk-around your gardens and I enjoyed every minute of it. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. Love you your friend in Williamstown ❤❤❤ Happy Gardening!!!
Your garden is beautiful. I love the curves you added, it really soften things.
O My Goodness. Love your Garden. Beautiful, love what your Doing.
Your garden is beautiful as always. Love the new pavers. They do draw the eyes to those gorgeous doors. 😊
That's what is fun about the joy of gardening because many of us are always changing our garden. Without change is becomes just a yard.
New sub here. Wow, you've got the gardening midas touch to create a beautiful side garden from a driveway.. As a seasoned gardener, it just blows me away what you've achieved in such a short amount of time! I love the look of the square tiles on top of the gravel, and at 9:50 when you talked about placing circular stepping stones in your herb garden, I thought why not try tilting the same square tiles into a diamond shape by turning them 45 degrees for the herb garden walkway. You wouldn't be introducing another hardscape into your design, just a different geometric shape. It might work, might not, but that's part of garden creativity, right. As an artist, it's easy for me to see possibilities in other people's gardens. Love your idea of transition steps on the slight slope. It would look lovely! And it's very smart of you to make a troublesome spot in your garden into a wonderful opportunity. Also love your airy "see though" plants. They add a beautiful layer and texture without the bulk. They also dance gracefully in a summer breeze. You mentioned some of your plants getting twice as tall (or more!) as usual this year. I had the same thing happen in my garden this Spring. My knee-high Allium got chest high and the Tulips were exceptionally tall. I think this phenomenon is a garden gift from God. I have no other explanation for it, do you? Enjoyed the video!
I think when you change your garden it turns out looking even better . GREAT JOB
I appreciate this so much. I had a piece of this video I edited out because it felt like a pity party. But a very nasty comment on here said “I’ve been following you a long time and you’ve removed all the charm” Totally uncalled for. You made me smile. Thank you! 💜😃
I’m excited about the watermelon!
Everything is looking so lush and green. The pavers are a nice addition. As always, it is nice to see you. Have a good week
Thank you Denise! Hope you have a great week too!!
i enjoy seeing your garden and learning about new plants. I like the American Dream coreopsis. And I will move my Moonbeam by my sage next year. Good look!
The pathway curves you added are just right 👍. I am in 9b/10 SW central Florida and every seed I got started germinated and then in one day the sun fried every single one! And I had them shaded for the afternoon & evening. So I will be going with starts next winter bc we had no cold days this year. In my neighborhood we dropped down to the 50's only a few nights. Even in the shade the temperature got to 100+ several days in May and stayed in the 90's. I picked the wrong year to grow from seed!
Beautiful looking garden and containers, they are the bees knees.
What a lovely transformation! I appreciate this transition video as that’s the way most of us are as gardeners! Your space is so welcoming, thank you so much! 🇨🇦👏🌸
Thanks so much! I agree! It can take years, but that’s the fun of it. 😃 always love to see my Canadian friends on here. Thanks for watching and Happy belated Canada Day! 🇨🇦🍁
@@HowsItGrowing Thanks and Happy Fourth of July ( tomorrow as I’m watching this) to you! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Laura your garden looks so beautiful. I’m constantly making changes to my garden. Love the changes 🌼🐝
Longtime subscriber 😊you have the best garden design style 😊 it's always fun watching your videos 😊
I appreciate your support and kindness so much! Thank you! 😃💜
Everything looks good. So thankful for the soaking rains. More heat coming soon. Still enjoy your videos.
Beautiful garden. Thanks for the video
I’m only a minute and a half into this video but I have to say how BEAUTIFUL your garden is! You must be so pleased Laura!!! You and your husband have made a wonderful garden❤️
How nice! Thank you so much Angela! 😃💜
Beautiful garden! Thank you for sharing
Your layout and garden are beautiful. I really liked the tour. Thank you.
So nice of you. Thank you! 😃😃
Wow, what a lovely garden. I recently found your channel. Happy gardening!
Thank you so much for being here!! 😃
Stunning garden ! I also love your sense of humour ! Squirrels , earwigs and boxwood caterpillars are active this year 😢 in my garden . Now I notice a bunny who dug a path underneath fence from the neighbours ! 😩🇨🇦
So much has changed in the garden since the Wine and Weeds tours, and all for the better. You are one of the most relatable gardeners here on YT with a beautiful garden. You should be so proud of what you have achieved . That watermelon plant better live after all that effort! My twins came home with a runner bean plant from school but them both succombed to a slug attack after being planted. Still have not lived down the deaths of last years sunflowers from school.😢
Oh thank you so much for such nice feedback. It’s so appreciated! I feel like it’s an entirely different space now. So happy! Oh gosh! Those are high pressure situations 🤣 I fully understand. Last years marigold from 4th grade class did not survive. 🙈
Your garden is so beautiful such a delight to see
Everything is so beautiful! I love all the changes you have made...they inspire me!
Thank you! 💜💜
Your yard looks fantastic!!!❤
Looking good!
Don't worry about changing YOUR space! I have a teeny tiny garden space and I am ALWAYS reworking it. I'm already thinking about how I want to change the space next spring -- some plants have works, some haven't; some structures has worked, some haven't. That's why I love gardening and design!! Love your spaces!!!
This is so nice! Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the positive encouragement! Thank you!
Everything looks great pavers do the trick ❤
Thank you! 😃
I have always been a big fan of your channel, your gardens are thriving, I love 💕 the echinacea with the downward petals so much , it’s my favorite, greetings from Massachusetts
Hello friend in MA! Thank you! I love where you live. I used to travel to MA for work quite often. Enjoy this beautiful garden season!!
I just wanted to thank you. In an older video, you showed how to use a conduit pipe to hold a hoselink. I am not handy and never knew how I would be able to mount a hoselink. I took a chance and purchased a hoselink, knowing I would try your pound a pipe technique, and it has been working great. Thank you for sharing it!
Oh this is so nice to hear!! It really works well! The one on my patio is mounted this way. I did mount the other to my fence because I wanted to raise it up some more. Very happy to hear you’re enjoying your Hoselink! 😃💜
This is my dream that one day I am able to do this . UK have such terrible wheather this year . It’s been raining and cold in July xxx
It’s funny, I actually dream of living in the UK. It’s soooo hot here and we never get rain anymore. 😭
I just love your garden and all the changes you have made. I also love that thalictrum. I’ve tried to find one for several years now, but so far I haven’t found one. I saw it in a bouquet once and knew I had to have one! 😂 thanks for sharing your garden with us.
Lovely gardens!
It´s looking fantastic - not like an ex driveway at all. Well done! Your garden is so sweet - I love all the little details. Mine is totaly out of hand - it rains on and off and the mosquitoes are so bad - you can´t go out there - they will eat you alive. On Sunday I was brave - I can not even count all the bites. 🙄Happy gardening! Hugs from Germany 🤗
Looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you for watching!! 😃
Love it! So beautiful!
That was a fun video! I have many of the same plants as you, but you gave me a couple of new ideas. I have the yellow coreopsis and it glows during the golden hour, I love it! I’d like to find the pink. I agree with what you said about your garden changing. Gardens are always evolving and I used to settle for things, but not anymore. If I don’t quite like something, gotta change it. 💚😊
Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na Getting Figgy With it! 🤩
🤣 exactly!!
Lol 🎉 floret seeds! I was sucked in too! I'm waiting for the fireworks and unicorn sparkles.... 🎉🎉
🤣🤣 My friend told me at that price he wants to hear them sing! 😂
Hi Laura, I would love the color you used on the shed doors. It's beautiful. Thank You
💜💜 thanks so much Kim!! It’s “Inland” by Sherwin Williams.
Beautiful!
I had the American Dream Coreopsis, and it was beautiful, but I didn't like how much it reseeded- but as you mentioned it was easy to pull up.
Wow lovely garden❤❤❤❤
Love your garden, it is very inviting…the potting shed doors look so nice. I have a hedge row of that moonbeam coreopsis, I never thought of trimming it back for more blooms, so I’m gonna try that this year…I have always liked the wispy foliage so never thought of cutting back…thank you for that..
What is the cage extension on your raised bed garden, I like it.
Thanks Tammy!! Those are panels from greens fencing. I did have to modify them a bit to fit on top of the raised bed. It’s there to hopefully keep the bunnies out of my strawberries. The squirrels were already in. I may have to screen the top of it somehow.
Stunning garden! I would buy concrete pavers in the same size as the porcelain tile and glue them together using polyurethane glue. It would fortify the porcelain tiles and keep them from moving and cracking.
Thank you! 💜 I hear you, and that’s a really great idea! But, these are very heavy. They are intended for outdoor use, patios, walkways. No cracking potential even in snow or inclement temps. I was concerned about that and contacted the manufacturer directly.
Your garden looks amazing!
Thanks so much!! Have a great Summer!!
Beautiful 💓💓💓
I like all the changes you made (except I do miss the garage-garden's charming cottage planting before the boxwoods made it so formal) and think every one of them is an improvement over how it was before.
Thanks! Certainly a lot of thought went into that big change. I know it’s very deceiving sometimes on videos, but that previous space was massive raised veggie beds that would never be able to bloom and thrive in the shade from above. Then just a long row of dahlias along a fence. When those weren’t in bloom it was an empty mass of dirt for 10 months. That’s a long time with emptiness. I actually don’t find the boxwoods formal in this setting. If a heavy concrete urn or statue was in the center, and different more structured plantings in between I think it would look much more formal. Thank you for watching!! I think it helps to explain the reasons behind things. Have a great week!!
Beautiful! Does your town do garden tours? You should definitely be a part of it if so, and I would come!! Your garden is exquisite!!
This is so very nice! They do! And it’s an honor they have invited me to be a part of it the past few years. It falls on my sons Birthday every year and it’s so hard with the kids being small to navigate things like an open tour to public. One day when they are a bit bigger I’ll jump at the chance. 💜💜
Floret seeds very expensive but very beautiful
Oh yes! Definitely! I’m excited for these because I’ll save them and they will be true to the original plants. 😃
Its not changing its improving!!
Ahh! Yes! I like that! 😃💜
Absolutely beautiful garden 🌺 we are going to hit triple digits this week here in California 🥵
I completely understand your squirrel problems. They have taken out almost all of my sunflowers, some of them don’t even get to bloom. It’s so upsetting. And yet I keep planting sunflowers every year 😂😜👻🌻🌻🌻
😆😆 oh I fully understand!! One thing I’ve done that worked for me, I plant my seeds in a tray, let them grow a bit out of harms way, then plant them. It definitely helps save some!
@@HowsItGrowing oh no these are fully grown sunflowers. They climb up the stalk and bend it over, sometimes before the bloom has opened, other times they climb up and gnaw the blooms off. I have two shorts on my channel showing what they do. I’m still trying to get over it, even though we literally go through this every year. 🤪
Hi may I know what happened to your Sugartip Rose of Sharon? I love that delicate pink bloom on those. Beautiful updates.
I love your garden. At 1.09, you show some garden boxes that are enclosed with a wood/wire frame. Is that frame removable? I'm curious how you weed that space. I have eight 4x8 garden boxes and chickens that love to get in there and tear them up. Looking for a solution and this looks like it might be possible.
Thanks so much!!! Yes removable! I got the framed panels from a company called Greens Fencing. They do come in different sizes too. It comes with wooden stakes, but I cut those off and zip tied each corner together so I can lift on and off.
Ok I need this hat! Looking for this exact thing for my XL head 😂 can you please share where you got it?
🤣🤣🤣 it’s a great hat! I got it from terrain! 😃💜 big noggin stamp of approval here! 😆
Hi…Love all your ideas and what your garden has become…Please tell me where you sourced the diamond trellises on your fence from? I need just 1…
Thanks so much! They were from Home Depot, they are still sold, but the manufacturer reduced the size of them quite a bit now. I bought one more not knowing this and it didn’t match up. I called them and they said the size was reduced to help with shipping costs from weight.
Gorgeous garden!! May I ask you how far apart did you plant your sprinter boxwoods? They look so full! Planning to make a border too.
Thank you! They are really close. Probably too close! I wanted a full look quickly, but I many end up spacing out in the future. I think about 12 inches in between.
great garden I love your rabbits please let me know where you bought them thank you kindly. I garden in zone 8B Texas.
Thank you so much! I got one at Lowes. Another from Campania international and then the one in the galvanized tub I got at thf Philadelphia flower show.
What's the name of beautiful evergreen trees on the back fence? Love your channel❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Those are Emerald Green Arborvitae. 💚💚
Pretty 🌸
Perfection 🤩
Thank you! 😃😃
Love your garden and all the beautiful changes you've made. Quick question if you don't mind sharing. Where did you get that pineapple sculpture?
So nice of you! Thank you! That’s the Longwood Pineapple (celebrating Longwood Gardens) by Campania International. From garden-fountains.com
@@HowsItGrowingThanks! Love Longwood Gardens!
I love your garden. I didn't see the bird houses do you still have them?
Thank you! 💜 oh yes! The post bird house is still there. I did have another that was smaller a couple of years ago, and sadly it began to rot. I kept the roof in case we ever wanted to try and make a new one out of a composite material. The one by the greenhouse is vinyl material, and it never rots or has issues. Thank you for watching!!
Ok, so when you move to England don't be surprised to find a stowaway in your bags! 🧚♂️ ME I'm loving everything and I want to seore of all; front, back, sides, even the nooks and crannies! Love to all, especially your mom and dad.🫂
🤣🤣 thank you so much Judy! You are more than welcome to come! xoxo
Moving to England?
@@Jessimac52just a day dream. 😊
YES,A daydream to live in Laura 's garden and/ or England!@@Jessimac52
What kind of gravel do you use? If you can link your tiles, that would be great.
It’s 3/4 inch river rock. We had that delivered from a local stone company. They dumped it and I raked it all out. The tiles I’ll have to check. My husband grabbed them off the shelf from Home Depot, outdoor nursey area.
Love all of your garden updates! Do you happen to have a source for that adorable Peter Rabbit garden statue?
I wish I did. I got it at the Philly flower show years ago. Saddest thing, the vendor selling it told me their shop had just burned down. 😢
Ok thank you. 😢
New sub here. Can you please tell where you got your cement rabbit eating a carrot?😮
Thank you so much for subscribing! Isn’t he adorable!! I don’t have the best answer on where you could find him. I got him in person at the Philadelphia Flower Show a few years ago. What I can tell you is, it said his name is “Sir Henry” so you may be able to find him online. 💜🐰
😃🎉 Excellent
I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Oh thank you so much! 😃 enjoy a beautiful week!
@@HowsItGrowing You're very Welcome 😁 Happy Growing 🙏🌱
Hiya! Why do you have the little clay pots on the tall stakes?
Just decoration here. But, they can be used to trap earwigs which I should try. Fill with newspaper and they will collect in there apparently. Also they are used to cover lower stakes so you don’t poke your eye.
😊 nice
Where did you get the wooden obelisk (tuteur obelisk) ?
My husband made them. I couldnt find exactly what I wanted that didn’t cost a fortune, so he just made some for me.
Did you consider staggering the pavers? Just a thought.
We did lay them out in a couple different patterns and straight looked the cleanest and less competing with everything else in the garden. Thank you so much for watching!
@@HowsItGrowing My pleasure - I enjoy your style!
Nice
Where did you buy your pot cloches?
Those are rhubarb forcers, I think that’s what you’re asking about. They are by the amazing potter Peter Wakefieldhandmade.com
😊😊😊
Where did you get the pavers?!!
I’m sorry I thought I mentioned. From Home Depot.
What's wrong with changing ? I change my garden every year I think about it all winter long. Isn't that the beauty of gardening ? Keep up the good work your garden is Beautiful Keep up the good work. Personal Please yourself no 1 else
You are so spot on! Thanks for saying this! I feel the same. I think I got really bothered by a nasty comment. They said “you’re always changing everything. You have taken away all the charm” Of course I find that comment ridiculous and rude, but, I let it linger and bother me. Thank you for being kind! 💜
