At around 15:20 I misspoke and called my coral bells (aka Heucheras) Canterbury bells. Innocent mistake since I just spoke about Canterbury bells. So much to remember. 🤪
I knew what you meant. So many plants, so little time ☺️
"If we blink it's going to go away," spoken like a TRUE gardener. It looks GREAT!
42 minutes of a video from YOU is a DAY MAKER!!
You are a trooper! 🤣 thank you VERY much!! 💜
What a treat, 2 videos in such a short time! Happy Mother's Day!!
Your playful attitude to your garden layouts and plants is so joyful, it makes me want to garden right now!!!
I love your garden tours! Your enthusiasm is contagious!
We moved into our new home last Fall, it was a rental property and not one thing was planted by the previous owner! Not one thing! Having left our country property after 30 years I’m starting from scratch with this blank slate this Spring. I started with two panicle hydrangeas and a Royal Raindrops Crab Apple. I’m filling in the emptiness with a few perennials and raised bed vegetables, and annuals for color. That might be all this year, then plans for next year and beyond. I’m 62 years old and still looking to the future with my yard and garden. Thank you for sharing, you keep me dreaming!
Peony…may also be buried too deep…the transformation of you property has been wonderful, thank you for taking us along on your life journey.
Thanks so much for another great garden tour always enjoy coming over to your garden and seeing what you’re sharing. Oh my gosh your garden is looking so good and beautiful thanks so much for sharing it with us. Loved all the beautiful plants and flowers you shared today hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie. I watched from the beginning to the very very end.
That rose is beyond spectacular!!
Your garden is looking spectacular and it's wonderful to hear how pleased you are because us gardeners know the thought and effort it takes to get to this!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday, my dear friend
Everything is looking so good Laura! This spring has been so kind to the garden. The plants truly appreciate each Season! Can’t wait to see what you have planned for the front 🥰
Very beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy the rest of the day
Never bored when taking a tour of your garden! It is so beautiful and intriguing - a glimpse of heaven perhaps. Thank you for showing the "life" parts, too. It makes me feel better about the interior of our garage. We live in a heavily wooded area, no grass - just moss - primarily shade plants. We have squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, deer, and a lone coyote - always having to contend with these creatures. That's one reason your garden is so peaceful to me - love the sun you get, too. Thank you for resuming your tours now that warmer temps are here! {Coastal Virginia 7b}
Beautiful!! Your garden had changed so much since I've been following along. I love your garden approach and you don't mind moving things. I'm always inspired by your gardens. 😊
Thank you Laura for showing us around your lovely spring garden 😊 Loving laughing with you, as always. Venus dogwood is a dream of mine 🤩 Hope to see more of you and your garden soon, happy gardening 👩🌾
Hi my dear friend thanks so much for sharing your beautiful garden with us. You put a wonderful garden tour together and have a lot of things for us to enjoy hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy, and Debbie.
Laura, so glad you are making more videos... always so lovely and interesting to watch. Please keep it up! 🪴Vickie
Love the garden looks so beautiful😊😊😊
@29:55 Duchess of Edinburgh clematis! Just received mines yesterday from Tulip World and I have to admit it arrived in an obscene state, but it watered and resting, and I will give it time to recover from the journey before I plant it. Great to see it displayed in your garden. It looks divine.
Gosh your Benjamin Britten is looking really good! The petals have a sheened/ jeweled effect. The color is amazing. I guess it's a climber although looking on David Austin's website only lists a shrub rose. This was a fun tour!
Everything looks so beautiful!! I might take your advice and get rid of the allium foliage in my garden as it does look terrible. You made me laugh out loud when you thought the stick was a snake. LOL! Patti-Bensalem, PA
This was an amazing video! Everything is so beautiful! After seeing this, I now realize I NEED alliums in my garden!!
So much fun to see all the changes you made last year filling in! Just beautiful 😍
Everything is looking so pretty! That boxwood hedge is great. I remember when you planted those little babies. So many favorites-that columbine, the alliums, lobelia under the lollipop trees were a favorite last year, YAY! Thanks for the tour!
Thank you! 💜 seems like not long ago and now is huge! Thank you for being here for so long. 😃
Your garden looks like a dream!
So glad to see the tour and my how things have changed in a year. I think another Venus dogwood would look great on the other side! Your hard work really shows as everything looks so beautiful!
I truly enjoy your garden tour and how you explain why you did what you did.
Thank you! 💜💜
Everything is looking so nice. Your boxwood has grown beautiful.
Thank you! I’m so surprised it grew so fast. Time flies! 😃💜
Laura, you have given me inspiration to tackle my problem garden bed that is being overrun by wild violet (also spreads by runners),. I garden in zone 7b in Maryland. We have well water so I refuse to use anything but organic products. A couple of years ago I spread the area with cardboard and covered it with a thick layer of wood chips, but that didn't work. They still popped up! I wanted to cry too! You have given me the fortitude to get down on my hands and knees and just dig them out. Now that I am retired, I can keep up with weeding the area as needed. Thanks!
😆😂😅🤣😂😆🤣
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of your garden tour. So inspiring as well.❤🌷🌻🏡
Hey Laura! I winter sowed Canterbury bells this winter and they are blooming! I didn’t think they were supposed to bloom first year! Deanna
Your garden tours are such a joy. Do you remember where you purchased the urn by the front gate? I really love that one! ❤💜❤
Love your garden, and Happy Mother's Day ahead the time to you❤❤
We get mystery irises too! I have no idea how that works either 🤷♀️ yours is gorgeous 🤩
PS Allium christophii I think. My favorite! They sparkle!
Yes! I was going to tell her the name of the allium as well.
Happy spring flowers.
It changes so fast. Good that you made this video now 👍
Your garden is amazing and so beautiful Laura. Have a wonderful day😊
Your garden is so interesting and inviting. You have such a good eye and your placement of plant specimen is spot on..I love this garden space.
Really enjoyed your tour of your Spring garden. So beautiful! Thank you.
I just love what you've done with your garden. It's absolutely lovely! Thanks for what you tell us that teaches us new things. I used Espo.a potting mix mixed in with that blue bag as well and had better results than ever. So I used it again this year.
You garden it’s gorgeous 😍😍😍
Beautiful!
Hi Laura! Wow....everything looks so beautiful!!! Just a charming home both inside and out! Hugs! :)
So very nice of you. Thank you! Good morning! Have a beautiful day!!
Your garden is beautiful
Thanks so much Beth!!
Oh, do I empathize. I've been battling cordata for several years but finally feel like I'm getting ahead of it. I pretty much used the same approach you did but know it will never be completely erradicated. I've also been trying to grow columbine for years. I love them but they never return so I end up putting new ones in every year. I have the same variety you have. Your garden is gorgeous.
I think Erin Impatient Gardener said she cuts her allium foliage back. I’ve not grown allium but I think this coming year will be the year.
Your Venus Dogwood is stunning. It is really a focal point to your front yard.
What kind of sedum is that below the wisteria? What a great pairing! Your garden is very beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Blessings from Canada:)
so beautiful
I love everything you’ve have done. It looks beautiful 🤩
Thanks for your beautiful tour Laura. Bonny
Great garden tour and that worm was huge!!
Your garden is stunning!
Thanks so much ❤
Everything looks great, love your climbing rose!
Your garden looks so great! 😍
Thanks for the tour!❤ Lovely!
Love your videos!! Happy surprise to see you posted a video!! Your yard is beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
Laura I am in Nj too and I love your ideas for your garden💕💕💕
Thank you so much for the garden tour!
Absolutely gorgeous Laura 🥰🥰
Long time subscriber ❤ you always have the best garden on utube ❤ and you always crack me up 😊
Your garden is looking beautiful! For some reason, my geraniums are taking FOREVER to grow this year too (Maryland)! Wishing you a Happy Mother's Day!
Beautiful ❤
It's all looking beautiful, but the dogwood wins hands down. Absolutely gorgeous. I have killed 3 cherokee chiefs. Maybe it is time to try again.
Isn’t it amazing? I’m stunned by it every time I walk by. Please try again! Fourth time is the charm? 🤣💜
@@HowsItGrowing ok, i believe you ☺️
30:35 Maybe they hybridized with one in someone else’s garden a long time ago? That would be super cool.
You can dig a trench and buy bamboo barrier to put into the trench to keep invasive rhizomes from invading under the fence. I did that for bamboo to keep out of my garden area.
Beautiful tour
Laura,
The Venus dogwood is absolutely stunning!!! 😯❤
Really enjoyed the rest of the tour, too--thank you. 😊
Thank you very much! 💜💜
Amazing and great 😊
I wish I could just copy and paste your garden into my yard-- fixtures, statues and all included 😊
Love your garden. I need to step up my spring blooming plants game!
Also, I live in zone 6 in western NY, and I can't get my bloomerang lilac to bloomerang twice either lol
Really looks beautiful! Absolutely love th vibe!
Thank you! 😃💜
I understand the frustration about the invasive growth habit plants. I’m fighting Virginia creeper in my blackberries. I’m allergic to it and it drives me crazy because it comes over from my neighbors yard because he lets it go crazy.
Hi, love your garden and really enjoy your videos for garden inspiration. Can you please let me know where you purchased your fountain and birdbath? Thank you!
Oh my goodness where did you get your Peter Rabbit statue??? Its too cute!!
I mistakenly planted chameleon plant once. It made me cry too! Took me years to get rid of it.
Ohhh. Yes it’s so horrible. Totally irresponsible that nurseries continue to sell it. 😭
Yes chop off spent blooms on the Re blooming lilac
your Dogwood is beautiful
Maybe I will cuz I kinda gave up on veggie gardening, no success with that so now I just stick with flowers , annuals , trees, shrubs but mostly perennials, I'm very successful at that.
hello , your garden is looking beautiful!!! Can you let me know where you purchased your urn from ?
What a beautiful property! I love it! What are your trees along the fence near your native honeysuckle?
There was a lot of head nodding from me during this one, yep, yep, me too, yep. I had to laugh at the end about the geraniums...I too planted from seed, and even though you gave a reminder, I forgot to pot mine up so they are still in the seed tray and I laughed because mine are the same size as yours. Just not our year for seed grown geraniums I guess 🤣
Oh and wanted to ask what the trees were along the fence by the lonicera, I tried standing close to my tv but couldn't tell 😁
It's also made me happy to hear about the use of natives in a garden, it helps break the misconception that natives are messy or can't fit in. The garden center I work at carries a lot of natives as the owners also have a wholesale native plug business... they were some of the folks 40 years ago who helped pioneer the native movement from a retail/consumer perspective.
Beautiful Garden! Where did you get the lattice work that you have attached to your white fences at the bottom ?thank you
I have the section of my yard that is very Sandy where we live and hard to keep grass growing.I actually need an invasive ground cover, lol 😅
You don’t want this. Trust me. It stinks and if left to grow, it will get waist high. 😭 try planting some dutch white clover or creeping thyme. 💜
@@HowsItGrowing thyme!!!, darn talk to text!!? 😂
Beautiful garden! What kind of trees are those by the alliums…love the neat and compact nature
Thank you! Those are Natchez white crape myrtles. They will get pretty massive 20-30 feet tall and create a nice screen of privacy above the fence in time. They are only 2 years planted here.
Gorgeous garden! Wow! First time here. Do you have a source for those diamond trellis’ that you have mounted on the fence?
I have heard you can cut back the foliage on the alliums as well and I’m growing them for the first and they are starting to yellow a bit I will trim back no juts no glory right lol
8:30 yep you’re right! Hehe 😂
15:20 those are definitely not canterbury bells… they’re heucheras (coral bells)
Yes of course. I misspoke since I had just talked about my Canterbury bells shortly before that segment. Just a minor brain blip. 😁
At 29:26 you have a topiary in a terracotta pot with the curvy lip. 1) is the plant a boxwood? 2) is the pot from Wakefield Handmade? 3) if Yes to Q2, what is the pot called because I don't see anything like that on Wakefield website, 4) do you leave that planter out in winter (not sure if the terracotta is frost proof)? Thanks
Hello!! It is a boxwood! A few years ago Lowe’s had a bunch of tiny boxwood topiary! I was so shocked to see them I bought 4! 🤣 This is not at Wakefield pot but not surprised you thought so given my track record. 🤣 it was from Home Depot probably 10 yrs ago now. It’s frost proof and I leave it out all year. I don’t leave any of my Wakefield pots out over winter. I hope this helps!
@@HowsItGrowing Thank you! I'm really shocked that Home Depot sold a pot like that and I'm very jealous of you as they look awesome and to be frost proof as well! This look like an item I would have associated with a specialty garden store not Home Depot and the topiary boxwood again very jealous but lucky you!
If you don’t mind, what baskets do you use for your outdoor plants? They are charming, I’d love to know.
Don’t mind at all. They are all faux wicker. A stretchy pvc plastic material. I grab one any time I see them. They are mostly from lowes and Home Depot over the years and typically I’ll spot them in the house plant or patio decor section. Sometimes even in home furnishing sections for storage or organization.
looks lovely!!!!! may I ask about the trellising on the fence?? so cool!
Thank you! 😃 I got it from Home Depot online. If you search up diamond trellis you should find it. 💜
your garden looks beautiful. Where did you get the hexagonal trellis
Thank you! I got them from Home Depot a few years ago. They still have them, but they are about a third the size now. I called the company and they said they reduced the size to save shipping costs. Sigh.
beautiful. what do you recommend for first time topiary plant? I would love to give it a try. ty
Hi!! I would recommend a boxwood. They are very hardy and forgiving. If you get a small one at the nursery they are pretty affordable and you can practice trimming.
Beautiful 🤩 thanks for sharing 😊 (why can’t they make those units garden green 😅)
where did you get those thin trellises that repeat throughout the garden?!
Plz plz paint your back door glass grid the color of door HOWEVER what a beautiful garden!!! So lovely.
How would you like me to paint mullions that are inside of 2 pieces of insulated glass?
Beautiful! What is the name of the paint color on the obelisk with the Colette climbing rose?
Thanks. Its called topiary tint from Sherwin Williams but it’s very faded from the sun. The fresh color was much more mint green.
Hi Laura-I'm just tuning in to your chanel and love your garden. I'm sure you have mentioned it previously but where did you get your trellises you have on your fence? I love them. They look like they are wrought iron.
Hi!! Thank you for being here!! Those were from Home Depot a few years ago. They still carry them, but they are much smaller now. I actually ordered some and was so shocked at the size difference. I called and they said they reduced the size to save on shipping. They are quite heavy. If you google metal diamond trellis you’ll definitely find them and similar options.
@@HowsItGrowing Thank you
