LILJA Cross, 19, from California, has a super fun 'Cyber-Goth' look, and describes herself as a 'cool alien raver girl!' Lilja's style developed during high school after her early years as a child model left her feeling constrained and unable to express her true self. Lilja told Transformed: "I wasn't really allowed to dress how I wanted, so I had to portray this little redhead. I was made to look a certain way... And it sucked". When she found high school and a love for EDM music, Lilja found her true style and happiness followed. Today, with the help of makeup artist Yazmin, Lilja has decided to be transformed from a 'Cyber-Goth Raver' to a 'Mainstream Coachella Babe'. Lilja has always felt out of place at mainstream festivals and music shows, but will this new look finally allow her to fit in? Lilja will be revealing her new style to her two best friends... But will they hate the new image?

I use to be goth etc and thought "im so unique!" But every style is a copy of someone else eventually.. mocking preppy or "normal" people for their style is the stupidest reasoning.. "you're just another carbon copy blah blah blah" there are countless people who dress emo, goth, punk.. you're no more unique than the "norm"
Yes, and it's more of putting on a mask than actually _being_ yourself. Used to be goth in hs, till senior year. I also thought I was so unique😆 But I think it's fine if you're a kid. Experiment, wear crazy clothing, etc. Today, many years later, I dress in what's comfortable, and what suits the occasion the best. I don't mind if that's perfectly expresses my vision/image of myself, because at the end of the day, me is me. _Being_ yourself is more important that _showing_ yourself.
It’s definitely one thing to dress Just to ‘be unique’. But that’s obviously not the same as dressing purely how you want, then that’s just being you. Not everyone who dresses alternatively/ or loudly is doing it for attention. There is no ‘normal’ really. You gotta remember how different everyone’s lives are. Not everyone is in the same environments as you, same interests as you. Some people just have louder hobbies. People will dress how they want and talk how they want etc…. Humans aren’t robots, no one person has the same style, interests. For some reason people like y’all hate seeing people loud. Expressing themselves loud. Seeing people happy with themselves. Life’s too short to care ab whether or not someone even WANTS to show off their outfits and stuff. Who cares, the worlds gonna keep spinning.
If u dress one way, and you describe it as ‘putting on a mask’, then yeah thats not true to you. But you’re not other people, not everyone feels that way. Clothes r meaningless, it’s just whatever u like
The make up artist did a great job, the styling looks super natural. Lilja looks great in both styles but it's important that she dress the way that makes her feel best!!!
I love her blue hair and the way she does her eye makeup. She’s very beautiful. But I think the best style on her (and anyone else) is whatever she wants in that moment.

Cyber girl here too. I am sill learning industrial dancing. I love being a Cyber. It reminds me of my teenage years. I was at the tail end of the first wave back in 2005.

I think Lilja looks great just as she is. Dressing like this is what makes her feel comfortable and confident, and that's what matters most.
I've seen some comments that say "I used to be...... when I was ....." and it's not being "unique". Honestly, who cares what it was for those people commenting? This was about Lilja - NOT them!!
When I was in H.S, I'd dress in all black. Id wear heavy metal t-shirts, flannel shirts and skin tight, (practically painted on) black jeans that I'd have to zip up with a coathanger. I'd wear thick black eyeliner, and black lipstick if I had any, or I'd put black, blue or green eyeshadow into lipgloss, and use that! The only time I'd dress "normal" was when I left school and worked in an office. But it would be back to MY "normal" look outside work hours.
I'm now 52, and have 5 kids. I still wear all black clothes, same makeup etc. But I wear these ALL THE TIME now, except when I wear my flannel shirts and heavy metal t-shirts! I've got my hair split dyed 3 colours. I do this because I like how it makes ME feel. I don't do it for attention - I'd prefer to be left alone because I don't like most people ( plus mental health issues). I dress like this because I WANT to feel comfortable. I want to feel confident. And, most importantly, I want to feel like ME.

lol her friend summed it up best "still hot" 😂 i love her initial look but even in this you see her the person and you can't take that away. i think lotsa layers look good tho i get she might not like the color. as transormations go, this one really was pretty good! the boots and shorts kind of mirrors her other aesthetic in a way also.

I don't get why would she get bullied at all, she is not even ''hurting'' her body with tons of piercings or anything. I'm not a great fan of tons of make up or anything like that but she looks great either way.
Some people are sad and it makes them mean unfortunately. Being mean to others unwarranted says more about them than the person they are being mean to.

But when that makeup girl brought out those nasty makeup brushes, she should have run for the hills! They were absolutely gross and so thick with other people’s face oils and makeup that they were all splayed out!
