SANDIE, 21, from Connecticut, describes her unique look as 'Afro Goth', which is 'dark, stylish and a little bit spooky'! Sandie has dressed this way since a young girl and as her style developed it became more than just a 'look'. Sandie told Transformed: "Afro Goth embraces black culture as well as Goth culture kind of mixed together. A lot of Goth culture involves being pale and ghostly. A lot of the time black people tend to feel unappreciated or not included in the community. So, Afro Goth exists to say, hey we're here and we also can be Goth." Today, Sandie is doing something she thought she never would... Stepping away from her 'Afro Goth' aesthetic and being transformed into a 'Bling Queen', something she's always loved as her mum Niesha used to dress this way. Sandie said: "When I hear Bling Queen, I think of the 2000's, Juicy Couture, a lot of pink, a lot of big earrings. I haven't seen myself in any colour or different style in a long time so it's gonna be cool to see if I can draw inspiration from it." Makeup artist Christine will be making the transformation happen, but how will Niesha and Sandie's best friend Fae react? Will they want the newly crowned 'Bling Queen' to stay? Or will they want the 'Afro Goth' to return?

This young woman is so good looking. As an old Goth I would like to point out that everyone is welcome in the Goth community. You don’t have to be pale or white at all. Not all white Goths are wearing white makeup anyway. I don’t because it’s bad for my skin. It’s not even necessary to dress like a Goth to be accepted. Skin colour doesn’t matter at all. My daughter accompanies me regularly to Goth fairs or happenings. She is the most beige wearing person I know. Nobody ever said she doesn’t belong. We all are weirdo’s amongst weirdo’s and the Goth community is one of the most accepting I know. I never heard of Afro Goth before but I like it.

Out of all the goth looks I like the Afro goth look the most bc it doesn’t try to mess with skin color, and I feel like the dramatic makeup and clothes is super flattering without all the super white skin color. Look a deeper in to the stlye as it may give you more ideas on what you can incorporate in to your look
Its edgier and is actully more of a traditional 80s look even though back them
Styles would get mashed up making what people call trad nothing tradition about earily goth.
Death rocker had more rock and punk roots than the soft flowy velvet and lace traditional new romantic style of the origins of goth as a separate style
You kids have to stop pigion holeing your self as goth has been around for 45
plus years and only seem to take from the 90s,2000s but even back then, your look would not be called trad and 90s goth is not traditional.
Its 30 years of evolution down the track of trad.
